Thank you for uploading this, I've always wanted to draw or sketch something like Frank Frazetta or George Kamitani and it never really dawned on me that it's not just how detailed or how colorful the artwork is but how it's set up to tell a story or to give it a more dynamic feel.
I struggle to determine the feeling of shapes since not all shapes illicit any emotion in me at all or I find I have the opposite reaction to shapes. The example at 12:45 I don't get any enjoyment from the shapes on the left but the one on the right has a more clear narrative for me and so I like that. 15:59 I felt safe and captivated by the dark background and I felt nothing for the red on white. If it wasn't red or many a different shape that might change something.
Sir how to composed subjact drawing or figurative competition drawing like, market, farming, restaurant, festival, art gallery etc. How to use molly bang method
1 for the red triangle on a white background, I don't feel too much. I don't like red so I kind of block it out (meh). but the red triangle on a black background seems dramatic, fiery, and dangerous. 2 context. left image looks like a person trapped on an overhang being faced by some dinosaur creature. 3 placement. the red rectangle gives a little unease but not as much tension as the white triangle and a bit more unease than the purple circle. it has more attention bc of size and color but the unease is from its angle and the black angular shapes it is creating. 4 rectangle. the left composition kind of makes me see greek architecture (columns under a pediment). not sure about the horizontal aspect but the vertical aspect also makes me think of gothic architecture and the long stained glass windows with stories on them. 5 depth. closest A. furthest D. D looks further away bc perspective is used to draw a line for where the ground is going (deeper into the picture plane) ?
