I sometimes imagine that she would have been a suitable match for the then Crown Prince of Sweden, Carl Gustaf, if the European royal families had kept up the tradition of marriages between equals. I'm sure she would have made a great queen consort of Sweden. This would make Carl Gustaf's heir and successor also descended from the kings of Denmark.

Does anyone know if the Queen and Princess Elisabeth got along well? It doesn't seem that the Queen and her sisters were that sad that Elisabeth passed away. It doesn't look like the Queen really liked Elisabeth's nieces when they greeted her, but it does seem that the Queen likes Elisabeth's brother. It was kind of like they wanted to get in and out as quick as possible.
No i’m pretty sure that its the brother that doesn’t like the queen because when the queens father died the brother you see was actually the next in line for the throne because the queen was a woman but Denmark changed some rules when the father died so she take the throne instead of him.
Princess Elisabeth was often at official occasions at the palace and appeared to get on very well with the Royal Family.

They did. Daisy and Princess Elisabeth both enjoyed designing frocks and gowns together. They assisted each other in materials and designs selections. However Benedicte was always punishing Princess Elisabeth during social functions. She made a fuss over Claus Hermansen and didn't want them seen together at Royal Functions in the 1970s. She would always order them out of any Royal Procession, Princess Elisabeth and Claus would often be forced to sit on the sidewalk even at Banquets. It was embarassing to all. To see Benedicte treat her cousin so rudely. Elisabeth was often assigned guard duties and also recreation for the children while Benedicte would irritate Princes Henrick or Richard of Seyn. Elisabeth was thus well loved by all the Royal children she was a very patient and generous baby-sitter. She never lost her temper with the Royals children. The same cannot be said for Benedicte, one would think she was Greek or a female version of Napoleon. Her nickname among the Royals was "Benedictator." Queen Margrethe respected Claus and assisted in his efforts to make the film Narsaq - ung by i Grønland in 1979. Daisy also ensured the Prinsesse Elisabeth Alper (Greenland Mountains) were properly explored also in the 1970s. As for the Nieces? They are all extended family and were close to The Queen in the 1970s. Prince Ingolf and Sussie of Rosenborg were a couple then and almost common law in the 1970s if not for Inge Terney as I do not recall her being around at all 1975-1979. Benedikte has been cruel to everyone at one time or another. She is largely avoided by many of the extended Royals. As for Prince Ingolf he toured the world with Daisy and her Family 1975-1979 and was very close with Daisy and Anne Marie. Always kind and loving. The thorn in the Danish Royal Family was and has always been Benedicte. She would chase away most of Daisy's closest staff 1975-1979. Benedicte often was harassin Henrik in those years. She acted like she should be King at times. A sad woman.

Umberto Toni Her Majesty is entirely suitably dressed for a funeral. Normally The Queen is a very smart dresser, often designing her own, striking, clothes.
