Or how about the tens of thousands of Burmese running from their own junta government, the last 2 years in particular, but a conflict that's been going on for decades, the longest in SE Asia, with a government bent on ethnic persecution?
It's not just the Muslim minorities originally from the West but also the other aborigines in the eastern parts bordering Laos, Thailand, and China, natives to that region that the Burmese government & the majority Burmese group sidelined for decades UNTIL they themselves, as the majority ethnic, became the targets of their own junta government, Burmese majority who are now running into the mountains dominated by ethnic minorities... for protection and for training, so they could fight back... but fight back without guns and missiles like what the West's giving to the Ukrainians?
The human race WILL have to come to some better population and resource and political management than what we've been doing since the last 10,000 years, when large urban areas and towns and cities started going up. At this rate of barbarity, from the heart of Europe, to every corner of the world.... just can't sustain itself....

I´m sorry, but 3 Million fleeing in 3 weeks is a different quality of a crisis, as harrowing as everything going on in Yemen is. I helped during the Syrian refugee influx in Germany, and I am helping now, the numbers are just different with this crisis. Yemen is a civil war with outside forces intervening. Ukraine is a conventional interstate war, which is of different quality in the matter of the mass of weapons used (the combined firepower Russia used in the just 3 weeks is more than Assad ever had in Syria in all the 11 years there).

@@quippy8402 Nope. But the suffering of Ukraine is most intense both quali- and quantitatively. Also, ist is much more urgent, because the war has just started. I don´t know about you, but when the civil war (which is something different from a conventional interstate war) in Yemen started, it was all over the news for at least two weeks in my country, Germany. The most urgent stories dominate, that´s just how it is. Only way to do the victims justice.

Why isn't the whole world running to help the people in the middle east countries like they are running to Ukaine.
Its all about distance, not only in the sense of kilometers, but also cultural. The nearby areas of the countries in conflicts are worried about things near them, again, both distance and cultural similarities.
With Ukraine, as said in the video, people that consume the same media as you do, see themselves in the faces of the refugees. Therefore much more focus on Ukraine. As the old saying goes "Birds of a feather, flock together". It has always been like this, always will be. You tend to trust and sympathise with people that resemble people you know, it's hardcoded into us, from nature.

I think it's because Russia threatened they won't stop at Ukraine, so people are trying to stop them so that war doesn't expand and happen in Britain or Poland for example, I think people are genuinely scared for themselves this time.

I lost my eyesight when I was 26 years old and now I am completely blind woman. Angelina Jolie always was my favorite actress and my ideal woman. I remember her face and now I often listen to her movies because I can’t watch them. I’m from Russia and I want to say: many russian people are against the war. But nobody listen to us! Our social media was blocked (instagram, facebook, TikTok). When russian women with their children came to rallies, they were arrested. We can do nothing. Official television misinforms russian people and many people don't understand what's going on. Now we are almost isolated from the world. We cannot buy many medicines and feminine hygiene products! Please, don’t think bad about all Russians! We don’t support the war, but we can not stop it! 😭🙏🏼👩🏻🦯🌎
