  • In Psalm 18, David the King of Israel gives God beautiful praise, in response to the mighty help and deliverance God gave to David. This psalm teaches us how to praise God, and how to see the victory of Jesus accomplished in our life.

    PSALM 18
I had a dream of Psalm 18 back in January of 2020. It started off with the loudest thunder..the loudest noise I've ever heard in my entire life!!! It was so so incredibly loud. I was conscious of all of this while i was dreaming. It was vivid and lucid. Then I was standing somewhere in an open ocean and I looked up above me and there were lightning strikes everywhere happening and it thundered again.. I look over to my left and I see people scattering and running everywhere in the far distance across the ocean and so I started to run too. It was all dark and we were in some ocean and the ocean was almost mid calf height to my legs and then stopped being conscious in my dream of what was happening..I looked up into the sky and I saw someone sitting in a massive dark cloud and suddenly these massive hail balls ( they were so big like a size of the bottom of a huge Snowman ) were being thrown from the sky at people so I stood there and I looked behind me and I recognized two people that were trying to dodge the hail balls running to the left then to the right in complete fear.. I know who these two people are in my Waking Life!!!! .. then I briefly started fearing and began to start to run and then I suddenly stopped!!! ..... and I said to myself .... hold on why am I running?? and I looked up and I clearly remembered saying to myself...this is My God!! ...and i started praising him looking up at the dark cloud and I woke up..the next day i called my pastor to come over. He did, I told him my dream and about not knowing it was in the Bible...the 100% accuracy and detail of the dream to Psalm 18 . We read Psalm 18 together and thats all..not much else...just to stay focused on Jesus and to say I trust you Jesus..
I never knew about Psalm 18 when this dream happened. I woke up completely in shock and then I started Googling lightning in the Bible, dark clouds in the Bible, Thunder in the Bible.. Etc.. and then I came across Psalm 18..I was in complete shock, stiff cold and was blown away. I was up in my living room probably from 2:00 a.m. till about 4 - 5:00 a.m. in the morning sitting in my living room with the lights on wondering what on Earth just happened and why did I have this dream and more specifically why did I turn back and see two people (i know very good in my waking life) having massive hail balls being thrown at them.
Another night , a year and half later...June 6 of 2021... I was having insomnia tossing and turning I knew something was not right and something felt off. I was very restless so I got up turned my lights on and decided to read my Bible where I left off. I have a bookmark in my Bible. I opened the page it was in Second Samuel. It was Psalm 18!!! I never knew Psalm 18 was in the Bible twice.. this immediately brought to my attention my Psalm 18 dream i had in January 2020..I felt that it was a little bit weird...
Any advice or ideas what this may mean?

What does the Wall symbolize in Psalm 18?

You notice after 9 months he didn’t answer the question. He needs to study more. In Psalm 18:6 he parallels the temple to the tabernacle. English definition of tabernacle is a structure aka church. The English Bible got it wrong - tabernacle in Hebrew is not a structure, it’s a gathering/meeting where the Holy Spirit is present, not an actual building per se, hence not the same as God’s temple he referenced it to.

Show mercy to others .. but then read Psalm 18 : 37-42.... which way is it? I have always been confused as to the message of showing mercy and forgiveness towards others yet..they are enemies for us to overtake?

In the days of King David, Israel was in a national covenant (agreement, contract) with God. The were days of nations fighting against nations, and Israel responded as a nation to those who were against her and those to whom God wanted to punish.
If you are comparing Psalm 18 with some New Testament teachings, it is important to distinguish the fact that Israel a s a nation was sometimes called to not be merciful to their enemies, as God was using Israel; to bring judgment upon godless nations.
However, in the New Testament, the teachings are based upon the idea of the Kingdom of God, and the exhortations are not so much nationalistic as in the Old Testament, but they are more aimed towards in individual.
For instance, Romans 12:8 talks about showing mercy as an individual.
"...he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness."
That seems to be a fair way to differentiate between the two ideas.
      Hope this helps.

Really sorry, I love the Lord and love hearing his Word preached, but this man is shouting his sermon at me so I can't listen any more.
