Honestly I just spent almost $150 on supplies on Amazon and that’s everything I need to do my own nails which literally would cost me $150 alone so I’m excited to do them my own! Because recently I haven’t liked my nails and they would over buff them
Which one did you buy from amazon?
Girl. Same. I just purchased CAD 190! 🙄
I just bought $150 worth of supplies so I can do my own nails as well. Tired of shody jobs at the salons, I always leave with bloody cuticles and chonky nails wondering why I paid $75 for such a crappy job. I'm excited to get started, and play around with colors ane textures and become a DIY naik girlie!
Got my for CAD 80. So happy 😊
@@Itz-pewhat’s a CAD?
That is not how you get contact dermatitis. Contact dermatitis is when your skin comes in contact with an substance your body may be slightly allergic to; it then causes a rash. Gel can not seep through your nail into your skin. It can get onto your skin AROUND your nail but not under.
Gel contact dermatitis occurs when you come in contact with the uncured gel over a longer period of time. If you keep getting it on your skin you might get allergic over time. Some never have a reaction, and some are allergic from the first contact. If the nails are thin enough, i believe it can seep through the nail which is why its so important to cure all the way!
Okay!!! I came back to say I watched the video about a month ago, followed the steps with other products to the T, primed the tips as well and applied the tips leaving a small space between the cuticle and the nail. The filled the space with BIAB, cleaned the cuticule area with acetone and proceeded with the color. My nails are on now +4 weeks… this is the first time I try gel X nails and there is no pop offs or lifting at all whatsoever. Thank you very much for your instructions.
Kaylie you inspired me to do my nails at home. I watched all your videos and started doing them. It's been three weeks since I started doing it on my own. Just yesterday I finished doing my nails. It came out really good. I followed one of your tutorials 😂
luv ya❤
omg yess she inspired me to make a gel x tutorial on my channel 🫶🫶
@@Vanessa_Lezamaohh I just finished watching one of you videos on how to save your summer break 😂
I need to see a pic of ur nails at 11 years old 😭
frlll
We need her to see this!!!
4:10 😂it’s called a nail bed
Kayli ur literally the best youtuber in the world
yes❤❤❤
Fr she’s like the only UA-camr in my life rn & that’s saying a lot
agreeed🎉
So true
.😅
Judging by the *just a girl* thing, your disclaimers, step by step explanations, products used, the *I'm cooler on youtube* thing... you are definitely a watcher of The Beauty Vault (irina)
I went out and bought a whole nail kit because of you! My first came out so cute!
how much was yr total?
@@abikyy depends, there are so many cheap ones but make sure they work well, beetles is a really good brand and affordable
@@abikyy mine was under 100, the set I bought was 40 and it had a lot of nail polish, tools, decorations, and the uv lamp (the one for your entire hand). separately I had to buy a nail lamp for only 1 finger, nail glue, cuticle remover, and nail tips, (I also bought other stuff like gem stones becuase I didn’t like the ones that came with the set).
@@beauuby what brand?
I was wondering why my nails popped off in less than a week and the polish itself would get indentations even with a top coat.
Turns out I only had the tiny UV cure lamp so they weren’t getting fully cured! I purchased a proper one & now they look just like salon quality! I’ll have to update this comment in a week or few and see how long they last!
My next step is tackling the cuticle area. I keep flooding it with glue or top coat bc it’s hard to see how much you’ve put on or if you’ve missed a spot.
hey! how's it going now are the nails still intact?
whew good thing you didnt get contact dermatitis!! so lucky 😅
I loveeee your content! You won me over with your vulnerability in your video talking about depression. I am struggling with losing my dad in Feb and your video gave me hope that I can find ways to help myself get out of this depression. ❤ I hope you’re feeling better too! 💕
Do you ever do other people’s nails??
Thank you kayli for getting me into gel x nails!! 🥰 I've been following your videos to learn and my nails last 4 weeks (they'd last longer but I take them off cos of the regrowth)
You do a fantastic job! Im a retired nail tech and only just tried my first set of gelx. You do a MUCH job better than I did. Your tips and info are perfect and correct. Your french painting is spot on! Your vid is just as good as, if not better than pro tutorials. So impressed!! 😍
I just wanted to say you helped me get through so much and helped me a lot. And I’m 100% sure that everybody agrees with me, so just tysm❤
I have watched ALOT of nail tutorials and yours is by far the most informative. Im a newbie to nails and to your YT. Keep up the great work. Cannot wait to do my nails now. TFS
Your nail videos are my all time favorite videos to watch, thanks to you i started doing my own nails at home and i love it !
Would it be the same result if I just use base coat or top coat instead of the glue….?
You did a fabulous job Kayli!
I LOVE gel extension nails so much because they last 2+ weeks for me! However, I recently switch to Apres since I wanted to “level up” my nail products, but I *swear* they only last a week for me 😭 I have no idea what I’m doing wrong because I’ve done gel extension for an entire year and never had problems. I make sure to properly prep my cuticles, dehydrate, etch the gel extensions and yet they don’t last. Does this happen to anyone else? If anyone has recommendation, please let me know!
did my own nails following this vid and they turned out amazing ty kayli!
This Is my type of video also I did my nails yesterday
I really love this vid cause it reminds me of the first ever vid i ever saw of yours, i love your vids so much they bring me comfort and joy never stop making videos kayli!!!!
Can you pre paint the nails before applying them?
Welp.. here i am watching this after i already did my nails, now scared i didn’t cure the gel long enough 😭
I just ordered a bunch of stuff and I’m sooo excited
no bc I literally have no interest in doing my nails at home but I still watch these vids anyway cause kayli is my comfort youtuber
Ommgg, you are beyond gorgeous! Such a kind soul and mind, and we can see it from those green eyes, I love you so much, you are my comfort person and you videos acctualy help me so much, plese never quit being the way you are and sharing your feelings and thoughts! You are loved and enough! 💞🤍
love this! i’m excited to try the gel overlay technique bc i’ve really struggled with sealing the cuticle in the past. thanks kayli!
I’m confused because I ordered basically everything I needed for soft gel (I already have been doing my nails for like 3 years so I already have basically everything) and I did everything like in these tutorials. I could pop the nail off like a dual form. I should probably note tho that I pick at my nails and fidget with them so DAMN much, because of anxiety and all that. So I think for someone that doesn’t pick at their nails these are really good tutorials, I’m just the problem lol.
same here! i have bad anxiety so i pick at them all the time. i also naturally have a lot of lifting so that doesn’t help lol
i do too and rubber base gel worked for me so you could try that, the rubber base is made for problrmatic nails
The problem with doing your own nails is, even though you are saving a gut load of money, you are actually causing so much damage to your nails. You can see the damage done to your nails as an example. You are also giving out faulse information, showing your ignorance of proper nail educaiton. Contact dermatitis can clear up completely if the substance causing the problem is identified and avoided.
I would advise that you and your followers take a nail and e-file course, even if it is only for your benefit if you intend applying your own nails, especially using an e-file. There are so many cringe moments in this video with all the mistakes you made while applying your nails. However, your nails and designs are fab. I believe you would be an excellent nail technician with the right education.
you make doing a French tip so easy! I feel I could do this.. I'm going to try on my next gel x application :) Thanks for the video. Keep up the beautiful work!
I have prom on Saturday and I wanted to do gel nails so you just saved my life 😭
hey kayli! is it possible for you to link your nail drill or tell me the name of the drill, i cant find it in amazon or the melody susie website.
Do you need the flash light? Or can you just use regular gel light?
Hi there! What's the dif between the flash and full length cure? I see the lamp size and the time underneath are different. But if i have a bigger lamp can i also use that to flash cure (just a shorter time)?
Having watched your video, I want to try gel extentions now))) you’ve made such a beautiful result! Thanx for the video!.
Thank you! I learned so much from this video ❤
My mom used to do gel nails and she still has some stuff, so ive started to practise doing gel nails with them, but my mom said when i first started practising that like when you cure like gel or primer or anything its like 120 seconds, is it too much? ive seen so many no do like 60-90 seconds
No, its not too much, its better if you read on the bottle it probably says how long to cure it for. It would be ideal to cure it longer instead of not curing the nails enough, because that could cause allergic reactions.
Have you tried polygel nails? I would really really love a video of you doing them 🥺 cause you can explain everything so well and it's always a big help for us. So thank you for this 🖤🥺
im so glad you mention developing contact dermitis! i sadly developed it and found a way around using gels without reacting. but noone mentioned it when i first started!
Omg I got it too!! What did you do to work around it? I have so many nail supplies bc I did them for like a year but now I can’t use any of it 😢
@@jauntyjackie367 i have to be super careful not to touch the gel, so i use gloves at all time until everything has been cured. Basically i just paint falsies, cure them and then glue them on with nail glue. (Once everything is cured you can touch them with no problems)!!
@@jauntyjackie367 not original commenter but i use hema free gels! i like sundara nails, esp their gel glue for tips! i find that if im using tips, i can usually use regular gel on top for the nail art and stuff, but def experiment for you!
@@jessicayoung4578 hema is not always the culprit. im allergic to acrylates
❤Kayli you’re the best, thank you ☺️…. Can you please tell me how to avoid acrylic nails going yellow, after eating food, etc …. help please? 🥴❤ Hoping you can do a video on these tips, etc
right now im just doing press ons every month but hopefully in the future i can start doing gel x nails thanks to all of your advice
This is such a good tutorial! 😊💚✨🌛💚✨🌛Your nails turned out perfect and your cuticles were so well cared for.
Btw the new apres comes with half sizes and the cuticle is so flush, you don't need to file down the cuticle area at all. I save a bunch of time since buying the revamp.
The prime color mixing thing is a HACK. I'm off to buy prime colors. I usually only want the extra colors for tips and designs so that's better than buying 50 bottles of different shades. LOVE!
I recently switch from liquid gel nail glue to solid gel glue and that’s helped my nails last so much longer too. Plus I find it much easier to use and to wipe away any mistakes
lol
I had already been doing my nails for about a year now but this was still life changing advice, thank you!
hi I watched your video and was wondering because I don't know if I can trust everything on youtube did it actually stay on for 5 weeks also your video was amazing thank you for doing it so helpful
וואי תקשיבי כל סירטון שאת מוציאה אני יישר באה לראות!!!! את טובה מ''מ ממש! ועושה כל כך טובבב ואסטטי! חולה עליך אלופה!!!!
Hi! You are one of the best nail UA-camrs ever (in my opinion don’t come at me) and you have latterly inspired me to do my own nails at home and I’m only 14! I was wondering if you could test out the Una Gella gel nail extensions and gel glue I also the the flash light that come with it! I’m not sure if it’s good or not but I was wondering if you could review it for me!
Perfect video with really really really great tips like always and very pedagogical and humble and encouraging thank you so much 💖💖💖
I literally just started watching your videos last night. Feel in love with the way you do your nail videos. Pls do moreeeee!!
Thank you for this! I’ll be doing my own gel x nails for the first time next week so I really needed this
Obsessed 😍
Question: is she using the same gel when she puts a layer on her nail and when she puts it in the nail x?
yes
Can we do it with any nail glue ?
Absolutely love!!!!! You are so motivating!🤍🤍🤍
What tips are those girl?!? Been shaping squares into almonds for 3 sets now trying the shape out and I want tips now!!
I am actually trying to understand if in this step 6:58 you're using base coat to glue the nails? I'm just confused if it shouldn't be glue for my purchase ☹ Can someone let me know? Thank you 💕
You definitely can get rid of contact dermatitis. It resolves from weeks to months when treated by a medical professional. So don’t tell people that lol.
yeah i was confused by her statement. a 15 sec google search told me it’s curable so i wonder why she said that.
It's curable if you stay away from gel products (some of which are used in medical products as well). But if you have a sensitivity to gel, you will always have the sensitivity/allergy. It will never go away. That's what she means.
i lovvvveeee gel x except for ONE THING.
i want to have new nails every week and they last 3 weeks!!
? Sooooo, u were the same design the whale 5 weeks? Don’t the nails grow out?? I do my own nails EVERY WEEK. It’s weird to me that any woman who really really likes her nails looking beautiful 😢 would let them look forgotten.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
ur content is AMAZING Im doing my nails these weeks and I want to create my own content like this to and I wanna share tips so ur vids are great insp. tysm! UR AMAZING
Filing the tip of nail is genius… I need to do that. Is a flash cure stronger than the lamp? I use the regular lamp and I get bubbles if I don’t hold it for at least 60 sec.
the flash cure isn’t necessarily stronger. it’s just to hold the nail in place so you can apply the rest of the nails and cure them all together instead of curing them one-by-one as you apply the tips.
@@user-oi9ej8bk4v thanks. I try to do that for 20-30 seconds but it made bubbles when I stopped holding it. I’ll keep trying
Love these.... i dont understand however why No One shows the UNDERSIDE of the nail and how to make it look clean.
Have you used stickybond with gelx? I can't find a beginner tutorial anywhere 😢
Hi!! can somebody explain to my why we flash cure? Can you not just fully cure with the big uv light? And can you flash cure with a big uv light or do you need a small one? And how do you know a small light is a flash cure light? I am a new in the gel x world! I have been using gellac and biab on my natural nails!!
This is one of the best gel-X french tutorials I have seen and I am addicted to nail videos!
First COMMENT and LIKE
I’ve bought all the products to be able to do gel-x, and I follow your vids step by step. But the next day one always ends up popping off and it makes me so frustrated.
Please help!
Anderson Betty Brown Maria Williams Deborah
Does anyone know if you can do this whole process without the flash cure light? I only have the regular UV light for curing!!!
I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO REMOVE THEM :( what to buy on amazon etc :(
question, do i have i have to use primer before applying the beetles gel glue or can I just apply the glue without primer?
How do you clean up the glue behind the nails?
What can I apply after primer if i have just ‘nail glue and not ‘nail GEL glue’? Is it fine if i apply a thin layer of glue on the nails and cure it ?
Do I NEED a flash cure light? I only have the big light. Thank you!
how often can i remove gel x? I'm a beginner and I've messed up getting bubbles under the nail.
Does anyone else have the Melody Susie drill? ☺️ thinking of getting it but wondering if it’s a good one?!
Hey I have contacted dermatitis can I still do these nails? I want my nails done to minus itching but I don't want my skin worse
Can I paint my nails first and then stick them to my nails by using the base under the uv/led lamp?
Gel wipes off with alcohol, it's cheaper and easier on your skin. Acetone is for regular nail polish.
How is the health of your nials? When I do gel or biab nail polish my nails get really thin and brittle..
do you have to use a flash cure for when you put the fake nail and then the big cure or can you just use the big nail cure?
Contact dermatitis resolved within days to weeks FYI…
you've helped me so much, I can tell a difference after taking your tips! I think a video showing all your nail supplies would be super helpful (if you haven't already)!!
hey kayli i just started youtube i was wondering what you use to film and edit your videos!
I sprung up when I saw a new video posted!!
wait is there rlly no way to get rid of contact dermatitis?! i rlly wanna do my nails but now im kinda anxious with the risk of contact dermatitis 😅
Why didn’t you use the dehydrator after primer?
Pls do a tour 🤧🤧✨✨✨
I’ll stick to the salon and my cousin my cousin does nails and I don’t have any of these products so
Do you ever use acrylic nail glue? I tried to use gel to adhere my nail and it just would not cure?
Your hair looks amazing!!
I have a question. What if i only have a uv lamp and not a flash one. Will it still work ?
do you have to get a flash cure lamp or is just a big one okay?
Do they get caught in your hair or glue your fingertip skin on the underside of the nail?
how do u know what’s a flash cure lamp what’s the normal curing? w 8:20
You can get rid of contact dermatitis🤨 just go to the doctor’s and get antibiotics and steroids
AWESOME Video!! Def picked up several tips to try with my next set. 🎉🎉
