Jessie was entered into a contest but was too sick to go. James goes in her place. A little bit of his hair sticks out of the Jessie wig, in that episode and this comic.

Omg FLAMING MOLTRES! I love how you brought back even the most niche references in iconic Team Rocket episodes, such as Jessie’s favorite coffee order, breaking the 4th wall with the Christmas Bash CD or the Dustox baby teething thing. I absolutely LOVED seeing Cassidy make an appearance as well (I’m a huge Neoshipper so it would be amazing if Butch and Cassidy somehow got together within this universe). It was sweet seeing the TRio back in Alola and reuniting with their other pokemon! And MAY! This fan made series is truly incredible and I thank you so much again for sharing your creativity, artistry and hard work with us!

I just found your channel yesterday and loved the first 2 videos but this one takes the top. It is so good i just wish they would actually give us a Jessie and james spin off like that. I also love the details with the kids where they take things like the tie on the ball and when they come back you get a realistic "just take it" situation from James, just makes it feel like real parenting.

Ash has a stacked roster of Pokémon and just got his Pikachu stolen by a couple of friggin Grunts?!? WTH!!!
He likely only brought Pikachu like he's done with previous regions, such as Hoenn and Unova.
His Pikachu has the power of plot armor and plot power though.
@@JanusHoW That's true, but not always. If I recall, Team Rocket used a magnet to mess up Pikachu at the start of Ash's Hoenn journey. Additionally, Ash's Pikachu lost against Hoenn's first gym leader Roxanne and her Nosepass. It wasn't until they trained to learn Iron Tail and had Static activate that Ash won against her.
Years later in Unova, Pikachu received a temporary debuff from Zekrom, followed by getting wrecked by a Snivy that(at least in the English dub; I don't know if it's also true in the original Japanese dub) had allegedly never battled before.

Technically speaking, if we consider the fact Ash canonally doesn't go to gen 9, doesn't that mean he's a regular trainer now? Not the protagonist any longer
