AXIAL RIDGECREST: Monster Truck Conversion

- Hi RC fans, thanks for watching Bobby B EastCoast RC. WOW what a day! I finally got my Axial AX10 to where I wanted it. I installed a second servo and the C hubs and steering knuckles to the rear. I changed the stock ESC and Arrma 15t motor and put in a Tazer Fuze BRUSHLESS ESC and 3300kv Motor! And finally finished my KING KRUNCH throwback body. Just wish I had someone to film/record me!! But anyhow since this was the first time I was gonna be running the Truck brushless and with rear steer I choose not to run the body. I have now finished the Bear Foot Dodge Ram body that is in the video ( The decals came that day!!) And that body will be run on the truck any time I'm really gonna BASH on the truck and the King Krunch is more for show then go. But alas As seen in the video The tactic 151 oz. servo is still not enough torque and I will have to go with a better, stronger servo in the future. When the music stops in the video that's the jump where I could really tell I lost 99% of my front steering ability. And I was steering with just the rear! So after testing the truck I think I'm gonna go back to just front steer and go with a Better servo like a hitec 333 oz. or something else up there in torque. But in loose dirt instead of on a high traction asphalt I think I could be fine with one very strong servo up front and just power through turns to kick the back end out. So that's the plan for my AXIAL AX10. But I wanna thank you for watching my video its ALWAYS appreciated. this setup works great with Yeti lower links and swaybars added on body looks great!
Wow that thing looks great. I also converted my Ridgecrest over to a monster truck but I don't have rear steer and I don't have a good looking body for it yet. Love the details on the body by the way!!
+Chaps' Unlimited Thank you. The Ridgecrest is a great platform. And very versatile. I love seeing what I can turn this truck into. But honestly The rear steer makes it a bit more squirrely. I'm sure you know by now but a servo saver is a must on a monster with wheels like that. AWESOME video man. I have a king sling mud truck,and a ridgecrest grave digger.
LoL! Yeah I know, its one of those things I can only look back and laugh at! It was a poor decision on my part and yeah I did have a feeling it was not going to end well, but the asphalt and super grippy RC4WD rumble tires put the servo through the ringer pretty quick!! Thanks brother I'm glad you like it! I absolutely love the king sling truck!! Dennis is a ICON in both Mud trucking and monster Trucking he revolutionized both sports!! That's awesome! Sounds like a party my brother!! Thanks again!!

And any time I can inspire someone to try the hobby or try something new with a rig they have, makes my day! I too was persuaded to try this hobby after watching videos on youtube. And it is a pleasure to share this great hobby with the RC community that gave me my confidence back. I can honestly say this hobby has given me more then I could have ever expected to get outta it. I wouldn't doubt it was the water. I barely splashed mine and it toasted. Hobby King has some good cheap servos. Hobby Partz. com does too.

I know it's an older video but what type of ramp is that? Looking to find a good portable ramp for my RC
i had a friends send me 2 vintage yellow radio shack trucks from 1986 i upgraded and modded to work with hobby grade electronics. been at them slowly as my budget allows. now i just needs batteries. getting the 1/16 latrax 7.2 packs for them. dont need lipos for them. i posted them to a facebook group im in. the ledwheel. check it out sometime.
I remember those! I had a yellow one. I remembered it looking like Bigfoot 1. Too bad it had no suspension and it had poor steering. But who cares when your 5yo and driving a yellow bigfoot clone.
I have a blue one that I hobbygrade converted. I'm currently working on rebuilding it for my daughter when she's old enough to run RC. I have some videos on my UA-cam channel. It has its own playlist.

what kind of wheel adapters did you use ?
+ian searth The wheel adapters are from Crawford Performance Engineering. Its a store/company I found on ebay. They widen the offset as well. They seem to be a product of 3-D printing but come with the proper hardware to bolt em' to a Wraith or AX10 wheel hex style! I'm sure they'd work on other trucks as well but they work great on the AX10!! So far I have no complaints about the durability. They were $29.99 on ebay! By the way your vintage trucks sound awesome and i'll def check out that facebook group! Thanks for the comments

oh yeah! these adapters will def work on the wheely king. Just make sure you have a strong enough servo to turn those big boys. A front mounted servo will be a big help as well. Good luck brother

+satria hamzad Yeah it does, but I've been considering unlocking the rear! I wont unlock the front cause it will diff out constantly in the turns!
