@@Summerdew123 I don’t agree on that. Perfume is a big love and passion for me since I can remember and I don’t fall out of love with my favorite perfume especially when I own more than 64 fragrances. I can’t imagine 🙊
@@sonjaakrouchi that’s for you though. There’s no reason to keep a perfume if you KNOW you’re not gonna use it, for most of us. Its better to make room for the ones you ARE gonna use. it’s completely fine, normal and acceptable
You’re so right about keeping the Miss Dior bottle to pass down to your daughter. It’s so sentimental. I would love a bottle of my mother’s perfume. So special!
I think it’s normal to move on once you feel you’ve had your time with a fragrance. Feelings change, seasons change and all the scent associations that go with it. Doesn’t mean you no longer like a particular fragrance, just means it’s time to move on from it. Some you will maybe go back to, but others will just be a fond memory. That’s what is so fun about fragrance. There’s so much to explore, discover and enjoy. ❤
Aww... I love that you want to save the perfume bottle as an heirloom. My Mom passed away in 2016. There wasn't a particular perfume she wore or anything but rose and jasmine remind me of her because we had rose bushes and jasmine plants in our front yard. I love the combination together so I'm trying to finesse a signature scent that marries the two in a way that's unique. It's a journey but a fun and sentimental one at that.
I have peony and blush suede and find it to be wonderful in cooler weather too. In springtime, the "peony" aspect shines. In fall-ish, the "suede" comes alive. It's cozy, with soft woody leathery vibes while still being a beautiful soft effortless florals. I prefer it in fall over spring right now.
I’m a nail tech. There’s no need to take a break from your gel 😀. My clients are loving dark eggplant with copper glitter over top right now. It sounds strange but it’s gorgeous. I know you’re Canadian so if you’re ever anywhere near southern B.C., I can recommend a good tech 😊
Really because I feel like every time I get gel it just ruins my nails after a few times. They become brittle from the filing.
Miss Dior 2017 is my favourite perfume ever, now that it's discontinued I can't find in my country and it would be pretty expensive to buy from overseas so I just bought a very cute 5 ml travel size bottle, I don't know if I'll wear it or just keep it on my vanity and keep smelling it but it's hands down one of the most beautiful perfumes ever created.

oh wow, don't think I've ever caught an Ilythia video this early! I absolutely love Illicit Green, I just haven't worn it much either because I live in a place that is just too hot for it april-september (southeastern US). I luv watching your videos even though we have very different scent preferences, you're just so chill and relaxing to watch. anyways hope you have a great day!
9:15 have you ever tried Armani's Ocean di Gioia? it's my personal favorite fresh shampoo-ey scent. projection and longevity can be kinda poor but I think the scent itself is so lovely!

I love Versace bright crystal edt, juicy couture bye bye blues, issey miyake leau dissey edt (a bit masculine leaning),
The thing I smelled in store the other day but didn't get but I wonder if you would like Very Good Girl-Carolina Herrera? Smells like a cherry sorta Herbal Essences shampoo type of fragrance.

@@Vee92521 no its not unwarranted or weird at all! I love talking about perfumes. I have smelled Very Good Girl, I liked it but not enough to purchase. It didn't remind me so much of shampoo, more like a very fruity body splash. It's definitely very agreeable but I'm not moved enough by it to purchase a bottle. Also I havent smelled bye bye blues by Juicy so I'm interested in checking that one out now, thank you!
Ocean is soooooo good
So you need to try the new Miss Dior again! I was one of the people that was mad about the Reformulated Version and I didn't like it when it first came out, i tried it twice and didn't like it. But my husband bought me a bottle so i tried it amd OMG i fell in love! I don't know if its better because the juice aged, but its about 40% the 2017 Version and 60% new with vanilla. Its so pretty and pleasant! I am will to bet if the 2017 is too strong now, you would love the new one if you tried it again! I only wear the 2017 when i go out in evenings, because the patch is strong. But the new formula i wear during the day and its soooooo beautiful! I know you were mad about the Reformulated Version at first, but obviously our noses change! So try the new one again 😊
I found the reformulation got better with age, my bottle is from when it first came out, so its 2 years old and it smells like the 2017 but more toned down with Vanilla and im absolutely in love with it now! I highly recommend trying it again! You can still smell the 2017 dna but with Vanilla. Its absolutely delightful
I definitely recommend trying the new Miss Dior again! Its so beautiful! Like I said it has the same dna as 2017 just added vanilla. I think you would really enjoy it now that your nose has changed!
Awesome video as always Illythia! Totally agree with Chanel chance! Gabrielle essence is much more youthful & even longer lasting!
My favourite K cup was Green Mountain Vermont blend but it's been discontinued. Now I love their Nantucket blend which is almost identical. Love your videos.

I know it's a classic brand when it comes to perfumes, but I have never found a Chanel fragrance that I like. The whole classic, timeless, elegant vibe must really not be my thing 😁
Yeah the only one I can stomach is chance eau tendre

Most Jo Malone will make so much sense to you starting March! You’ll see, give it a chance and you will take it back out but I agree it is very seasonal and is almost even to sharp for summer. But you will love it in spring I promise

hi! I came across your channel after buying my first fragrance (Chanel chance eau tendre) and becoming hooked to finding more fragrances. I went to Costco today and saw they were selling designer fragrances for $40, which was crazy. I bought light blue by D&G and daisy by Marc Jacobs and the bottles are huge. I’m not sure if you have done this yet, but a video idea is a costco fragrance haul :)
I don't really wear my miss dior 2017 anymore but I still want to keep it. I do find it quite strong. I have been loving Chance eau vive edt lately ! The hubby really likes when I wear it. My favorite keurig coffee at the moment is maxwell house :)
I agree with the Black Opium. Illict Green hasn't convinced me. My favourite of this line is Extreme, the blue bottle 👌🥰
As for coffee recommendations, our Costco carries Groundwork which is an awesome LA-based company. I’m not sure if we have it just because it’s local but it tastes great and is organic. One more tip, unlike popular belief darker roast coffees have less caffeine than lighter roasts due to what happens during the roasting process. So darker roasts might be a good way for you to get less caffeine!

I'm in love with Vanillas now since its full on fall here in Alaska, I have added Maison Mataha Escapade Gourmande which is a delicious sweet vanilla, I also got my hands on Vanilla Silk by Gallagher Fragrances which is a more toned down version of By The Fireplace, I am in love with Vanilla Silk!!! I am trying to find a backup bottle!
I’ve decluttered! It’s amazing how your nose changes over a few months. It feels so good to let them go. Miss Dior 2017 is staying though….I agree - I’m getting headaches from sharp, sweet perfumes
Here are my faves and not too strong because of my anxiety. I also had to go down to 2 cups maximum a day. You can’t go wrong with any of these: Dunkin' Donuts Original Blend, Green Mountain Breakfast Blend, Donut Shop Regular, McCafé Premium Roast.
I have the Peony & Blush Suede, I liked in the beginning, but after the "suede" started to bother me 😬 I am decluttering it.
I can’t relate to the whole manicure experience because I’ve always done my own nails, except on my wedding day when my mom gave me a French manicure. She was in the nail business all her life until she retired. She was the one who kept telling me how awful the chemicals and gel and tips and any fake stuff is for your natural nails. I’ve worn nail polish on occasion, but it’s probably less than ten times in my entire life 😆 Needless to say this fact saved my nails over the years.
I love your videos!! Your voice is so calming. For the coffee, you should try adding a dash or two of cardamom. I like to add it in when brewing but you can add it in your cup as well. I used to get jitters a little too frequently with coffee (which I love so much) but never with Turkish coffee which I brew with cardamom, so I started adding cardamom to all my coffees and I never have jitters. My favorite coffee is Highlander Grogg which is a medium roast. If you see it somewhere I would highly recommend giving it a go. 🤗
Your thoughts on your current bottle of Miss Dior made me well up when you talked about your daughter perhaps having it in her possession when she’s older. It’s amazing how these objects can hold so much emotion. ❤️

Omg! You still have the Miss Dior 2017? If you’re not willing to sell one of your other ones. May I request to buy atleast a decant? I miss my old Miss Dipr and you’re right. You can’t find it anywhere else and I’ve been looking. Please please. Let me know. I’ll buy just a small decant of that. 😢 Thank you!
I wouldn’t open a fresh bottle of the Dior, because once you spray it then air gets in and it starts to degrade. I recommend Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee it’s my fave 😊
Argh, headaches. I had to part ways with the beautiful Miss Dior 2017 EDP and EDT due to them triggering migraines. They didn't at first, then it was just headaches, and then it got worse and I had to sell 100ml of both. I went through a grieving process for them and even bought another bottle (fooling myself that maybe it was something else triggering the migraines) but that quickly had to go too. Thankfully I can wear the beautiful Chanel Beige without any pain. That one truly blooms off the skin in the heat. Sadly Si Intense is beginning to do the same thing as the Dior. I'm glad you have found some lighter scents you enjoy! I might revisit Gabrielle Essence xx
I was in my local thrift shop the other day and I was lucky to score 2 Jo malone perfume ( one is blush suede , the other one is English Pear and freesia which is my fav from Jo malone) in 5ml for $2 each !! They are authentic as I have a few fragrances from the brand. I just couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the price tag. And they were brand new , rarely used. I agree with you on Blush suede, it’s really nice spring scent and I would not declutter it , but I would not purchase a bigger bottle once I finish the small sample.
For coffee the lighter the roast the higher the caffeine content. Dark roasts have less caffeine, even though they taste stronger! A great coffee is the McDonalds one you can buy at the grocery store. Medium-dark roast and no bitter aftertaste.

Hi loving the cooler weather. I’m can’t smell BO Illicit at all. Flower Bomb is so pretty I do like the new flanker also. I also have 2017 Miss Dior and extra bottles stored. MD is fall scent for me Great video 💕

The ritual and taste of coffee is so hard to live without. but I am super sensitive to caffeine and was thinking of trying the half or quarter caf from Mommee Coffee which is also low acid. Just have essie of corset on my stubby nails to make them look clean! Also I can relate to the smell sensitivity, like walking into the bathroom after someone had a shower and wanting to yak at the body wash scent in the steam

Miss Dior is such a classy scent. I get what you mean though with the headaches. I have to be more mindful with those heavier fragrances.
I would love to have a bottle of my grandmother's perfume 🥺 especially because she brought some with her from Italy 😭 I absolutely think you should save one to pass onto your daughter, that is a beautiful sentiment. And it's ok to let go of a fragrance and move on. We change...our experiences, our views, our sense of smell, the world around us. If it's no longer adding value to your life, move forward 😊 but trust me, change and letting go can be debilitating for me.
If you think Chance EDT is sharp, then Eau Vive will pierce your nostrils. I had Eau Vive for 2 weeks and decluttered it because it just gave me sharp citrus toilet spray. Horrid.
I enjoyed listening to you talk through your thinking about your least worn perfumes. I adore Miss Dior, and have a bottle of the 2017 version, and can SO relate to what you said. I haven't worn it that much because it's so strong, and heavy, and I sometimes feel I don't have the occasion to wear it. To the office? No, that feels a bit much. Going out? Yeah, but I don't really go out much, just to the art gallery in my city once every few weeks. I also don't want to fall in love with it all over again and not have it available to buy anymore, so I have been keeping the 2 bottles I have stored in a drawer and safe from heat and light to protect them. But they were expensive, as I bought both after they were discontinued, so I would love to wear them to enjoy them.
I have tried selling one bottle of Miss Dior 2017, but it has stayed on eBay for months with no takers. I think the economic situation has stopped people from buying perfumes in the volumes that they used to. I have also stopped buying perfumes and have a small collection of 30 bottles, and some I would prefer to sell.
I have gel nails and I’m wearing Lincoln Park After Dark. Love autumn, also!

“Blonde” coffees generally have more caffeine than other blends. My favorite coffee at the moment is local to my area, Montana Coffee Traders Montana Blend.
Love your nails.i do my nails for 31 years, and like you, they grow so much and i take care of them with a little thin layer of acrylic powder.😘
Funny I was going to suggest checking out the Chanel Exclusifs but you beat me to it! I have Chanel Beige and 22, and will get more of these. Also have Jersey, which was a blind buy but not as crazy about it. But got my Exclusifs back in the day when they were EDTs and they are plenty potent and now they have been changed to EDPs, so I don't know. I have well over 150 bottles of fragrance, mostly niche. I don't know how you can downsize. I love my babies.
I love Peet's Major Dickenson's coffee. Been drinking it for years and can't find anything that beats it.
By the way the coffee mug is the cutest for fall 😊

I own both the Miss Dior 2017 and the 2021 version, and the 2021 is actually my SOTD. I have really grown to love it. It is a bit softer to me than the 2017 version, and that’s part of why I enjoy it. Sometimes that’s just what you’re in the mood for.
One thing I have learn about buying perfumes , it's better to buy decants, why? Because you spend less money 💰 you have the chance to see if you really like it or not, I went thru 2 bottles of CHOCOLATE GREDY by MONTALE last year I thought it was going to be my fave ever , well not is not like that , this year it's SWEET by ELLIS BROOKLYN and GREEN TEA by ELIZABETH ARDEN that I paid 10 dollars for at tj maxx ,
I will only buy full bottles if I really think I will forever love them like VANILLA 28 by KAYALI that is one I do truly love and I still can't get tire of it and I don't think I will. I have gone thru 4 full bottles and 6 minis yea that one is definitely worth my money and having a lot of perfumes is not an excuse of why you haven't use them because I have like 200 perfumes and vanilla 28 always get used.... so this is why now I only buy decants or sample vials or maybe mini perfumes , I spend 10 tp 13 dollars and I loose nothing
Good beautiful lady, I agree with you sometimes coffee as well like perfumes are heavy, well I from weslaco tx, I love the coffee McCafé is the yellow and dark brown packaging is so delicious is like drinking coffee from McDonald’s is not too strong hope you can find in Walmart or on line. Not really. It can, if you store it in a bathroom or somewhere that exposes the bottles to sunlight… but if stored properly it lasts a very long time. There are people who only wear vintage perfumes… talking like 30, 40, 50 years old or more. In those, it’s common that the top notes may have disappeared, but the scent is mostly unaffected by age, and some people prefer the deeper aged quality. But to answer your question, most perfumes don’t really expire if stored properly. And most people who own 5 or more perfumes know how to store them.

Peoples noses change and we all have experienced it. At this point if you’re getting headaches you’re not going to want to wear it. I vote to put it away for your granddaughter. That’s a beautiful idea.

I decluttered my chance perfume. It was too sharp for me and wasn't fitting into my everyday life. No regrets at all!
