    Has anyone thought that Richard Simmons is just BURNED OUT?? He has given so much and putting myself in his shoes, he is completely SPENT. Though I really enjoyed your podcasts, I say leave this soul alone and give him the space to heal for as long as it takes. Seems to me everyone wanted ‘something’ from Richard Simmons. Wouldn’t it be a lovely thing to know he is recharging his spirit in the way he did for countless others?

    I love Richard Simmons. His happiness is contagious. It's always upset me that he was the butt of jokes when he seems so genuine. So unapologetically himself even if that is over the top.

    Richard is a God damn legend. I remember watching his regular appearances on the Ricki Lake show. His tears and passion drew me to him. He is so inspiring. God I hope he's doing okay x

    I feel like you can only give so much to others, just like Richard did. But if no one gives back to you, the well runs dry. Richard gave, helped, smiled, sang, yelled and danced until he had nothing left of himself. At some point he was so empty he just had to hide, shut the world out and try to find himself. I think he disappeared to find himself, just like you are trying to find him.

    Richard's Howard Stern segments were my personal favorite.

    After I had my first baby in 1980 and cable TV was new, there was a man named Richard Simmons with him I lost over 50 lb, he made losing weight fun with great tasting recipes and enjoyable workouts. He will be sadly missed I loved that man, may God keep him safe in his loving arms. Rest in peace dear Richard you have saved so many lives with your dedication and love for people 💔

    Never met him but as I was getting my headshots done 9 years ago in Beverly Hills, he jogged by the photography studio I was at & waved at Me & the Photographer through the window. The photographer knew him & said he is a great guy! I was happy to see him because like most I’ve been a fan since the 1980’s. Even with his over the top style I found him to be more real than fake as f Jane Fonda or the money mill, cash grubbing Jazzercise founder. Richard helped so many & truly cares about others. Maybe he gave so much for so long that he just wants to enjoy quite and no fan fare in his senior years. I hope that’s all it is. He’s extraordinary! An American treasure mos def.

    I still need to finish it, but 22 mins in the 1st video and I'm hoping Richard got a chance to hear this. I think it's a lovely tribute and would have been happy to hear this about myself. I think he woulda liked it

    I have all his dvds. He kept me healthy and toned since I was a kid. I did it bc it was fun and so I did since 10 years old. He needs to do an app and videos. I'd be all over that

    You don't understand, running out to say hi to a tour bus is just as much of a red flag as staying in your house and being a recluse. This behavior is not inconsistent!

    Ive watched the entire series and surprised no one mentioned the Howard stern episode, Howard called it...he straight up told Richard he didn't love himself. Richard pretty much agreed by the way he shut down and walked out of the studio. Howard was right on a few things especially how Richard has never had a decent relationship with a man or woman..thats a red flag right there, sure he might have had a lot of sex, but surely never had that soul mate. That can mess a person up on that alone. His closest relationship seems to be with his housekeeper and that surely can't sexual in anyway so hes left with flings with younger guys that obviously never goes anywhere. He has the right to disappear if he wants to, but it's still an asshole thing to do

    In 2018 I flipped my friends Uncle Jimmy's Condo in Hollywood. We had to first get his Uncle out of the Condo and over to an assisted living facility. Jimmy was Richard's Lover for years. You would not believe the story I have from this Condo flip.

    After listening to this entire podcast, I am left with a bad taste in my mouth. The author is told repeatedly by friends, family and law enforcement that Richard Simmons is done. The stalkery-harrassment by the author feels like an attempt to make a buck and make a name for himself at the expense of another man's need for peace and solitude. Dan Taberski, you should be ashamed. Spoiler alert: Dan never speaks to Richard Simmons despite his obnoxious insistence. Don't listen to this podcast.

      I agree with you they are not friends. He just wants to make money of Richard. He admitted that he asked Richard if he could do a documentary on him and Richard blatantly said no.

      These are people who knew him well. For Simmons to vanish overnight (not showing up for a class) is highly suspicious. Just imagine that a (wealthy) close friend suddenly ends all correspondence with everyone, except for his "housekeeper" who won't let anyone talk to him or see him. Elder abuse is real. ESPECIALLY when the "elder" is worth $100 million dollars. Yeah - it's VERY right to be VERY concerned.

      @@blue3381 but how could a housekeeper physically keep him in the house and away from people. That makes no sense

    • @blue3381
      @blue3381 2 роки тому +2

      @@HybridBlueDream She is more than a "housekeeper." She has convinced him that SHE is the only one he can trust and worked her way into total control of his social life. His close friends can't even talk to him because all calls go through her. Something is clearly wrong.
