    The girl asked if she should shake her head when she bites the face. Bill, as director, asked her if she'd ever been bitten by a dog. Her face lit up and she said, "Yes! I know what you mean." Bill noted that dogs tend to go dead eyed and freeze. She said, "Got it! I know exactly what you mean!" 🤣

      @@ODUBlue it's sort of fever dreamish and definitely chaotic to let us see a glimpse into Barry's fractured mind, but I wouldn't quite call it surreal in terms of film. Usually surreal film uses images and juxtaposition to get a feeling or idea across that can't be done with traditional dialogue or imagery. Bojack Horseman and Twin Peaks use a lot of surrealism, where bizzarre images and colors float in and out of the screen. Even though ronny/lily is definitely bizzarre and dreamlike i personally didn't find it extremely surreal (maybe just a bit)

    I take every chance to say this: ronny/lily aired the same night as Game of Thrones' The Long Night (which was being hyped up as the biggest action set piece ever), and Barry completely wiped the floor with it in every way. It was less than half the length of that GoT episode and it somehow told a better story, had better action, and Lily was scarier than any of the White Walkers. One of the best.

    So today I learned that super glue can be used to seal cuts, but that you should only use it on clean, shallow cuts, like paper cuts or if you slice yourself with a blade. It definitely shouldn't be used for deep cuts, like puncture wounds or any wound that is bleeding a lot. So what Fuches did wasn't as stupid as I initially thought, though it was still pretty stupid.

      Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers used to grind a hole in his thumb with his aggressive bass playing and would run off stage to have his bass tech fill the hole with superglue so he could keep playing.

      super glue was originally created to seal wounds

    • @SnailHatan
      @SnailHatan 2 роки тому +2

      @@barnyhitman No, it wasn’t. It was an accidental creation, that came about in 1942 when attempting to make clear plastic gun sights for allied soldiers, and was set aside for years because it was too sticky and got everywhere.
      Years later, in 1956 the creator rediscovered cyanoacrylate and decided to use it/brand it for commercial sale as an adhesive polymer for use in jet plane canopies.
      It wasn’t until the Vietnam war, over 20 years after its creation, when medics figured out it was useful for closing wounds.
      It’s a fun story, but it’s patently false.

    Correct me if I’m wrong but the desert scene is just a memory, right? Of him returning home and Fuches being the one who picked him up because he’s the only family Barry had left. I think it’s supposed to signify like, if Barry hadn’t gone with Fuches that first time, would he be in the position he’s in now?

    • @beemini3374
      @beemini3374 3 роки тому +14

    I saw a little BTE from this episode and these are some interesting facts that they related:
    Written by Bill Hader that is why it is arguably the funniest episode of the season.
    Although they are both actors, both the father and the girl, they are also stunt professionals and part of what they wanted to do this episode is because one of the producers told them about this girl who could do all these stunts and they thought it was great to include her in the show.
    The idea for this episode is something that Bill and the showrunner have wanted to do from the beginning; an episode focused on what would happen if in one hit everything went wrong, and when they came up with the idea of the policeman's ex's boyfriend, they decided that this would be an incredible moment to do this chaotic madness

      PS: in case it seems to you that Ronny looks familiar but you can't find where: he is one of the security guards in John Wick 1, the one who fights with Keanu hand-to-hand at the disco

    This episode reminds me of the Pine Barrens (The Sopranos) episode so much. Even the referente of the Russian broken wind pipe by Paulie and the fact that Ronnie also “broke it” and Barry made the remark as well, but in the end neither the Russian nor Ronnie were dead. Great one off episode

      @@danmedeiros6676 hahaha all good. And idk it's hard to recommend. If you don't mind not getting strange answers and like strange, dreamlike events with quirky characters then yeah it's solid. Season 3 in particular (the revival in 2017) has some absolutely insane episodes that are like nothing else on TV. I'd recommend watching the first 3 episodes from season 1 if you have any interest, see if you like it from there.

    A quick Google search didn’t yield any result for me as far as if there is an actual connection. The shot with the girl running away and flipping over the fence was from Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz (I never saw the third film in the Cornetto trilogy so maybe it appears there also). The flip itself was in Hot Fuzz.
