I've seen so many videos lately about ways to make money with Google Maps. But is this side hustle legit? And can you really make hundreds or thousands of dollars with this hustle?

There's a lot of videos out there about making money using Google Maps. And the idea of using it as a tool to find local service-based businesses in a certain niche to pitch your services to is very clever.
However, many videos on this topic just suggest drop-servicing via Fiverr to run this side hustle. This is a recipe for disaster in my opinion and not a long-term strategy to building an agency.
Local SEO in complex. The same is true for other services like social media management or website design. So, if you reach out to businesses and promise to deliver these kind of services, you need to know what you're doing.
My advice is to actually start an agency if you're interested in this. Learn valuable digital marketing skills and network. Focus on offering one service to business owners and learn the skills you need with the many free online courses and resources out there. Don't just rely on Fiverr or buying results and promising quick wins to try and get clients.
I know this video is a bit different than my usual videos. But after watching a few Google Maps side hustle videos, I got pretty frustrated since I think many of them give out bad advice. Hopefully, some of the tips in this video help you turn this into a much more profitable, long-term business.

what do you think about chad kimballs video about google maps? I think he's the one who started it all or he's copying the method from someone else. What gets me about all these guru's videos is that they don't mention the tedious work and the detailed description of the business model.

Terrible advice. I’m in this business and it seems you’re purposely misleading viewers. None of these channels are suggesting cold email, selling followers (GMB does not have follow features), or doing citations.
You make money with cold calling and by setting up and optimizing business profiles. That’s it. Make 200 calls/day, shoot for a 2% closing rate minimum and charge $250+ for getting local business profiles verified and setup on pSEO
