They Might Be Giants Snail Shell / Out Of Jail / Pittsburgh & More - Live @ Mr. Small's May 11, 2024

Here's five songs from They Might Be Giants first ever John Henry-themed show, held at Mr. Small's in Millvale, PA on May 11, 2024. Snail Shell (last played in 2011) / Meet James Ensor / Unrelated Thing / Out Of Jail (last played in 1995!!) / Pittsburgh (Venue Song for Mr. Small's). A John Henry show was long dreamed of, but was never a reality until this night. I recorded lots of video from the three nights and will be uploading them sporadically over the next few weeks. John & John also shared some nice memories about recording the album in upstate NY in 1993-4. Apologies for the vibrating camera action as the bass obviously affected things slightly. Many thanks to Peter for helping with the audio and of course much love and props to TMBG for still bringing the ruckus wherever they go. "We will rock it so well, we will roll down the hill" indeed. Before the show, we ALL were hoping on high for a John Henry show, so as you hear, when Flans announced it was indeed a JH show, we all exploded with enthusiasm. I suspect Linnell just was commenting on the excitement level. ❤

@@daveidmarx8296 Yeah that makes sense I just thought it was funny that, of all words to describe the love for John Henry, he decided to say “bussing.” It knocked the wind out of me when I heard those words leave his mouth 😭😭 (that’s something my 12 year old brother would say, not freaking JOHN LINNELL OF THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS!!)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I'm 99% sure he said "blushing" not "bussin". but I would LOVE to be wrong

@@KidEatsKeyboardno, I really think he said “bussing.” Like he technically meant “bussin” but he just said “busSING” like in a formal way lol
I can clearly hear him pronounce the B and S sounds, and not the BL and SH sounds
