You start seeing what you can get away with and it starts out fairly harmless and then you push the boundaries, and you use your fame and wealth and power to start grooming women. Note on the NDA Law stuff, it apparently is actually retroactive.
    "The Law Retroactively Invalidates NDAs in Certain Circumstances
    The Speak Out Act applies retroactively to all NDAs that were already signed prior to the passage of the legislation. The law makes it illegal to enforce an NDA that would prevent a sexual harassment or assault victim from speaking out about their allegations. The law makes it clear that it applies to any claim that is filed after the date that the bill was signed into law, regardless of when the NDA was dated."

    • @Inequities
      @Inequities Рік тому +1

      It is actually far more confusing and convoluted than just that.
      So while a law was passed in 2022 that makes NDAs invalid if they were created to cover up sexual misconduct, the part about them being retroactive or not, is actually up to each of the states to make a decision on.
      You can put each state into one of three categories - 1) they do make them retroactive, 2) they’re not retroactive, and 3) it is currently being decided in the state courts, whether or not to make them retroactive.
      Connecticut falls in the third category and that is where the law will be enforced because of where WWE headquarters are. Currently there are two different people trying to pass laws making them retroactive but the vote is yet to come so actually we have no idea yet whether or not any of Vinces NDA are going to end up being retroactive. There’s actually a bunch of states like Massachusetts that have come out and said anything before December 2022 is not retroactive and not applicable to that law that you quote, so it’s pretty crazy

      I really doubt that people who worked closely with Vince for years were totally in the dark. I suspect the same is true of family, or people who became family.
      If Paul, for example, were to say he had no idea what Vince was doing behind closed doors, I'd call him a liar. I think he would have known, even as one of the boys. These are people who were tight with Ric Flair, what are the odds they didn't know Vince had women on the side? Now, as for it being their responsibility to stop it? Vince was grown. And you could make the case that anybody who knew could have approached him, possibly at the cost of their job, and told him to stop. But the fact is, most people go to WWE to make money. You can be principled, when you can afford it. In much the same way I'm sure these women likely would not have gotten personally involved with Vince if they had the money to pay their own way instead. Or at least that's how it was framed this time. She needed money, Vince offered.
      So I would argue that anybody who knew and didn't say anything, wasn't necessarily guilty. Because the people who knew and did say something, probably don't work for WWE anymore. And even she stayed and stayed quiet for the money, so I don't really consider it fair for her to blame anyone else who did.

    Honestly Vince coming as close as he did to surviving all of this was wild to begin with. Despite all of the issues and having to step away he was able to force back in he was able to pull off the merger at a substantial premium in valuation compared to what the stock was trading at when he was initially forced out and had a pretty nice arrangement to still be in the mix albeit in largely an honorary role as executive chairman. The day he resigned as CEO their stock closing price was $62.51 a share. The final trading price of the WWE stock was $100.65 a share. So to think he did all the stuff he did and was able to consummate a sale that led to the share price being 61% higher per share than what it was the day he initially stepped away was insane. And then you think that had he simply made his payments like he had agreed to even if he thought he didn’t have to this lawsuit likely doesn’t happen and he gets to stay around in the honorary role. Instead he decided to skirt paying $2M forcing him to leave again in even more disgrace than before and the price he will have to pay when this suit is said and done will be multiples of what he would’ve paid and could be even more if it’s ruled that the NDAs aren’t enforceable which we will then get to see more people flock in droves to sue him and that’ll likely be even more large payouts that are multiples of what he would’ve paid to Janel. And had this lawsuit never occurred he would’ve still been seen poorly but it would still be seen as improper relationship of a boss and employee instead of seeing the alleged depravity laid out in this lawsuit. Amazing that a businessman who always thought of the long game elected to try and skirt a sum of money that was peanuts in the total picture of his wealth and now blew up his entire legacy and will end up paying out immensely more money than he would have paid to honors the NDA. Entirely self inflicted destruction to himself

A small minority of patients have woken during general anesthesia but they never feel pain just general terror being awake. Also if the man was not a doctor as she claimed since he wasn’t dressed like the other techs, how did he know the right dosage or drugs to give her that wouldn’t kill her? Anyone comparing Paul's response to Tony is simply dense. Tony is the president of the company and it's his lawyer that prepared the NDAs. Paul is over talent relations as the booker. He's not a CEO, President, or owner. He was also hospitalized and recovering from a heart attack during the window that she alleges these things happened. The single reference to someone that folks believe could be HHH says she had an office in another building, across the street from the building he worked in, and that she spoke to him once in passing in a hallway. There's no there there. It's above his paygrade from every angle. TKO doesn't want him commenting on it. They have people for that. Then there is the fact that he, Stephanie, and Nick all voted against Vince coming back, based on the multiple instances of him using company money & paying women to go away. To pretend like Paul is Vince's bestie is asinine. All that aside, Vince is his kid's grandfather and his wife's dad. What do you seriously expect the guy to say? Even so i am bit surprised Vince would cut deal like that, really i thought it'd be from his cold dead hands or the same way he undercut his own father to get the buzniess, not in Mr. Ecclestone slowly yielding power to someone he sold buzniess to (altho his was at least not mired in controversy).
