I used to work in a music shop in Kingston Surrey (England) and Robbie was a customer .. played a Squier Strat then .. this was just around the time he joined The Pretenders .. he was previously in a local band called The Night. Really nice humble non-starry guy. I remember him walking me through the solo on "Kid" a priceless moment !!
In my humble opinion Robbie is in the top five guitarists of the world right now ... if not the best. Such a tasty and musical player. Always great parts on songs he's recorded too. Love this guy.
@bwachter72 Yes he's awesome. The delay's running in the effects loop. As you can hear with the slide, he has a distortion and a delay as background, so it's a loop :D
Robbie McIntosh is "The Wizard's Master" revered by Paul McCartney, John Mayer and Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders, not enough only that and you are lifted up to heaven by winged angels at 4:30 when he change his guitar for a Duesenberg semi-acoustic with TV Jones pickups and handles the tremolo and slide like a Pedal Steel Guitar.
can't wait for my Klon clone to come in from JHS!!! its gonna sound sooooo good through my jackson ampworks! I keep reassuring myself by watching this video...
What is that song he plays near the end at 7:25? I remember wondering that years ago when I saw this video, and just game across it again. What a gorgeous player he is.
Doug Fischer I don’t know what he’s actually playing, but it sounds to me like he’s playing a guitar translation of part of the verses in Walking In Memphis.
@@alexkennedy7770 I hear what you're saying! With the melody resolving from the maj7 up to the tonic... But that melody he's playing is so familiar, I keep thinking it's some classical piece, or Gilbert & Sullivan or something... some show tune...
Awesome tone indeed. Hey Brad, is Robbie using the Britain in 15W or 50W mode? Is he running his delays in front of amp compression/distortion? By the way, congratulations on the new website!
Is it possible to explain the tone at minute 5:00 with the duece??? did he switch amps for more of a clean tone?? or just rolled back on the volume?? whatever that tone is, it's sooo clean and thick!
Had some of the big artist he’s work for been unknowns he would have made their song’s successful anyway. He can make a run of the mill song a repeatable play.
I think I've watched this over 20,000 times.
Likewise! And it's still mystifying what he's doing on the Coronet. Tastiest slide player ever for me.
Same!
Me too!!! When I want to listen to some very good guitar sounds I come back here. Robbie is the best!

Seen him playing with his own band twice. Phenomenal talent.

Cannot get over how good his amp sounds.
That Multi-Bender kills me every time.
seldom to I see such tasteful and musical players like Robbie... that is simply BRILIANT
that Klon is soooo freaking KILLER!!!!! AHHH that slide tone is absolutely perfect.
the trem and slide work towards the end really sounds amazing. Robbie is a seriously underrated player. I would love to see him in more mags
Infinitely better guitarist than careerist
What an amazing, tasteful slide player!!!
Wonderful tones!!!!
Seriously...these amps always sound soooooo good. man...great work. robbie's the boss btw.
Dang his tone is awesome
Awesome tone!
After all this taste & talent before us, the real wonder is - who are three dislikes?
Twerps
Great tone!
Robbie is using the 50W mode. I have no idea about his effects order though. Thanks for the kind words!

fund203: It's a D-Tar Acoustic preamp. (unrelated to his electric guitar rig) it's for easy EQ'ing for when he's playing acoustic

i've always liked this guy due to his work with Paul McCartney, but i now think he has been elevated to 'favourite guitarist'
Good man
this guy is amazing!!!
That Duesy Slide work though. wow.
can't wait for my Klon clone to come in from JHS!!! its gonna sound sooooo good through my jackson ampworks! I keep reassuring myself by watching this video...

44 seconds + is some of the nicest playing I've heard. Anybody know what tuning that is?
+John Finnigan Sounds like standard
I don't know, but it sounds open when he puts the slide in his pocket at 7:25. Fantastic playing, and the amp sounds wonderful. I sure do want one.

@ooooters Yes, It's an old Epiphone Wilshire
What is the song he's playing around 1min? Sounds gorgeous!!
"I'm Gonna Find Another You" stuff on the second guitar he picks up.
What is the awesome black guitar that has pedal steel-type switches? That's pretty awesome.
Why two mics on the cabinet? It's not a stereo amp?
@matchless3 I believe the cameraman is the maker of his major tone? the jackson amp that is.....
What's the very first guitar he's playing? Sounds awesome. Guessing a Heritage LP with p90's?
@JacksonAmpworks What speakers is Robbie using in the 2 x 12" cab?
@Coppertunes i wanna know too!

anyone know the chords he plays at around 0.42?
What is that box next to the amp ?
What tuning is he in when he switches to that 3rd guitar and does the lap steel sounding stuff??
@Guitar101George Do you know what tuning and what the the strings and intervals he sets his palm pedals for?
-G
