I was there...Dons were Favs butl knew what we had brewing and won a few nice bets on the day...and it also convinced me to put a few bets on pre-89, especially once Blight had arrived, including getting 10-1 to win 8 out of our first 11 games and 10-1 to make the GF. Strong mark by Gazza on the outer hf line and a top goal into the wind - interesting to hear McKenna call him a Champ, even before 89. This was an absolute mauling and my Dons friends were very quiet and very surprised.
Geelong didn't win very often out at Windy Hill, but we belted the Bombers there on this occasion. This would be the very last time that these 2 clubs would meet one another in a VFL/AFL match at Windy Hill before the Bombers permanently re-located to the boutique inner city stadiums.
@@darrenmiles-morland8038 I started following Cats in 73 and we almost never won at Windy Hill, or Vic Park, Prince's Park or Arden St...so it meant a lot when we finally had a good side that could regularly win at those grounds. And credit where it's due...Cats were strong from 90-94 but the Mighty Eagles won at KP in every one of those seasons...what a side they were.
These are absolute gold OldSchool

The late Dean Bailey getting an armchair view of Gazza at 0:14 ...we used to get drunk at the same parties as teens...

Didn't win the Premiership though....Hawks always had your measure.
