Probably the best golf video series on the internet. Very understandable and transfers easily to the course. I’m 82 and shot my age the other day and I attribute this to Cheney’s videos.

Thanks Rod! You effectively just handed me a clear path to adding +15 MPH of club head speed and saved my back at the same time. This video also helped in 3 other ways. 1) It reminded me of the importance of a strike indicator on the driver when at the range. 2) Your overhead camera and the image of the "gear effect" helped me understand why going to larger grips a couple years ago might have helped straighten my shots. 3) it explained why at times when I've choked down on my driver when I wanted to lay up a bit (like I might on an iron) , I often hit it farther than normal. 1 lesson, 4 learnings. Quite the bargain. Thank you. Any chance you do any teaching tours in the US?

Impressive to see how much the clubhead twists even with modest offcenter hits.

You are so correct. "Faster" is a learned skill, and the only way to get started is to DO IT. Back in the days of "Typing" or keyboard classes, our instructor would have us perform drills just moving the fingers as fast as possible. Accuracy (words at that point) was not important, but there was no way to build up typing speed without regularly pushing that boundary. Great video. 😎👍

A good way to work on your second way happened serendipitously for me. One day at the range, I found myself next to a friend I had played with some. He and I took to alternating attempts to reach a particular practice green that would be the same as a reach over the lake on our third hole dogleg around water. Probably hit a dozen max swings each. Pretty enjoyable max effort workout.

One of Paddy's best tips, stay in motion! I swing all out 3 or 4 times before settling into a waggle and it's made a very nice difference.

Great video Rob. Would you say your average trajectory is a bit lower than most? If so have you already concluded this is preferred to seeking more height?

Hi Rob! Thank you for your amazing tips, they have drastically improved my overall game in the past month since I’ve started watching them. However, I have found myself overthinking the swing at times with the several tips you have provided over the past 3 years. I was curious if there is any specific swing thought, feel, or drill that hits all the desired positions in accordance with your swing philosophy. I look forward to hearing what you have to say about this. Thank you coach!

Once you get your pressure to your front foot, rotate the front hip back from the target line. That move not only gives you rotation but also lift to help with a upward AOA.

Great info as always Rob... Thanks. Regarding driver length, is there any reason one can't simply choke down an inch or two rather than permanently shortening the shaft for the same effect?

Thanks Rob. If the club shaft is too long. Why not just choke up to see if it makes an improvement?

The overhead view of the club head, is the head moving that drastically, on the heal and toe strikes, due to the impact on the ball?

  • @aristotleaquino3067

I just hit the ball as hard as i can (club speed) on the range. That helps on the course.

  • @hbyrdut

I hit up on the ball a lot. I tee it high and spin it low and launch it high. I can lower my tee and gain a little ball speed but I seem to get more distance with a little lower ball speed and lower spin and higher launch. What are your thoughts?

  • @Valpo5203

Thanks, Rob! Since I am not sure where I strike the ball, would it help to use some spray on powder on the driver to establish whether I’m hitting it off the toe or heel? Do you recommend this?

Hi Rob, I have to address the ball nearer to the heel during set up to get better contact at the middle of club face.. do you have comments on that

  • @Gafgarion852

Unsolicited advice (for your viewers), get some foot spray (super cheap and easy to find) and spray your driver face at the range. Great way to see / know where you are striking the ball.

Note on foot spray - a generic brand I tried did not turn white and therefore did not show the imprint well. The most common name brand, at least here in the states, did and did. Yellow can.

Rob, we spend most our time in the ROUGH ! could you show us how to get out of, ball high grass and higher ? with 60yd wedge . with a 150yd iron ? with a 180yd hybrid/fairway wood ? Country l Clubs fairways are Not like Carpet !

    • @PawelSiczek
      @PawelSiczek 5 місяців тому +1

I've found that's when technique matters even more, and then club choice. If you chronically miss the fairway, perhaps that's your goal, not getting back to the fairway. But having said that, I'd still practice punch outs and extreme cuts and draws, pretty fun too!
