The gearbox makes a lot of noise. As I recall the gearing is about 3:1 overdrive, so at 3800 engine rpm the propeller is doing 11,400 rpm. The water looks calm, but it doesn't take much to put the boat airborne. Great video! Thanks for posting.
And turning the prop @ 12,000 rpm's is like taking your garden hand trowel out into the street and digging 12,000 cup sized holes in the cement every minute. Imagine the amount of water in each rooster tail
