It is very clear how the record was set, and there should be no room for criticism. The definition of FKT is very clear in the rules. Grandma Gatewood didn't even hike the AT without help, nor did Mr. Earl. An AT hike that is truly unsupported would be a sentence worse than death. Tara is a great hero for sure, but Rascal and her Mom and crew share that greatness. This is an accomplishment that should deeply touch people's hearts, because without their love and dedication, it would not have happened. I see this record standing for a long time. And also--that Trail Bible is worth a lot of money. Guard it.
