@@ChristianAOrtiz-em9zf These are probably Rhizogonium dozyanum Lac and Bartramia pomiformis. Japanese call these HINOKIGOKE and TAMAGOKE. Rhizogonium dozyanum Lac only grow in Asia. Bartramia pomiformis grow in Asia, Europe and North America etc. I don't know whether you can buy it or not in America. Am I meddling for comments of 10 month ago?😂

There is no problem with normal rubber bands. I use this band because it is beautiful.

Haircap, star moss and sphagnum have a similar look and are native to the US. All three tend to grow in moist older forests around fallen trees.
