Where have you been for the last ten years??!! I have both units for easily ten years. I'm back to the 802USB. Your explanation is so helpful. Thank you!
saw this mixer pop up for 50 bucks 2nd hand (guess i'll pick it up, if only to mix down 2 mics on a drum kit into 1 signal again, but probably as some ghetto "PA" pre mixer), so decided to look it up, very clear information on both the ups and downs on the device thank you very much for your detailed information, certainly worth a subscribe :D
thanks for posting this, first good q802usb video ive found! ha. so the compressors on the first two channels can be used for both the xlr input AND the line input correct? on both instruments and microphones? thanks again.
Bought this mixer but I am having a noise issue when using the mixer with usb connection to my ipad… Please do you have any tips that could help me? Many thanks
Excellent presentation! Question - Can I connect the 802 to an external amplifier OR 'receiver' post mixing? and if so, which 'output' connection(s) is(are) best to use?
Something that I am confused about is if you have a usb mixer and a usb soundcard, can you use them together? Does the mixer act like a soundcard? How would you set this up? Great video.
Virtually 90% of recording software only connect to one USB driver/device. You can use ASIO4ALL to combine the two USB units as one, or aggregate the two devices on a MAC OS.
Quick question. If I split my PC speakers using a 3.5 to rca adapter, and plugged it into the 2-track out, could I toggle the speaker output simply by toggling the "to main mix" button? I'm trying to work out if I can use this mixer to mix multiple inputs (guitar, aux for backing tracks, pc line out), mix the three into one mix and split the output between PC speakers in the 2-track out and headphones in the phones out. But with the option to toggle between the outputs.
Hello sir! Will this mixer let me to have mono output which I’ll connect to Sony mirrorless camera? I want my dynamic microphone (rode podmic usb, it also have XLR port too) to be recorded to camera, so then I don’t have to do audio sync in post. Thank you!
Thanks for the review, I also watched the other video for the workaround. I guess if I want to record my karaoke singing, it is best to connect my 3.5' smartphone to RCA in, or stereo channel? Which one is better?
Some manuals online describe in the technical characteristics of the q802 USB model that the Main out has an unbalanced output, while the manual downloaded from the official website and from the one in the box describe that the output is balanced. Among other things it wouldn't make any sense for it to have balanced inputs and unbalanced TRS output.
@@RecordingStudio9 It appears that the wiring diagrams found online are inaccurate, as indicated in various online manuals. However, there is a UA-cam video by "Kettner Creative" where they conduct a test on q802USB model using a 300ft cable length, showing that the signal remains clean. The video asserts that after the test, the outputs are balanced, indicating that the manuals and diagrams are incorrect.
@@RecordingStudio9 I want to inform you that it might be of interest to readers that I opened the supplied manual, and it states "balanced output" and has a 120 ohm resistance, while the manual found online indicates an unbalanced output. I contacted Behringer, and they confirmed that the output is balanced, and the manuals found online are disseminating incorrect information. The issue of the 120 ohm resistance is not what determines whether the output is balanced or unbalanced. @@RecordingStudio9 now let's say on line 2 and 3 I have inputed a guitar and a keyboard, will they also come through back to the pre amp all the way to the headphones??
Very interesting video. I have a question: can I use this audio mixer for broadcasting (online radio with "Audio Hijack" app for mac) ? Can I "ducking" with this mixer? Thanks in advance!

Thanks sir. I've really missed checking this channel. I have the 802 mixer. I recently started using it for live gigs, where i record the main outputs as inputs into my DAW. I was using it as a speaker control I.e the output of my audio Interface into the 1 and 2 inputs of this mixer. Really dont know whether the inputs channels on the mixer affects the signal or not so I just removed it cos I felt it may be having an effect on what I'm hearing from the speaker. Please advice here sir. Another question is that: 1. Is there a software driver I need to download b4 using the USB to connect to my PC? 2. If i connect the mixer with USB to my PC, is it possible to have both my saffire pro 40 and this mixer at the same time a d will I be able to record the inputs from the mixer coupled with the inputs from my saffire pro 40 in my DAW? In fact I am almost also going to give this mixer away until I washed this video. Thanks again sir
It's unusual for PC DAWs to allow the use of multiple dissimilar interfaces simultaneously. Mac architecture is more audio Friendly and WILL allow it. Outputs to multiple interfaces are similarly difficult to manage on PC. I found a workaround with my Studio One setup. I wanted to be able to use OBS to record and stream Studio One related content. I found an old 32bit app Voxengo Recorder which, apart from enabling "side recording" will also send to am MME output interface. I loop my desktop audio out via Voxengo and/or Voicemeeter Potato to my Q802 then back into Studio One via my main interface (Firepod FP10). The latency this way is minimal (phase difference on;y) unlike using ASIO4ALL which gives 'slapback" type latency i.e. circa 100ms When I get my new controller layout sorted I'll probably show it all working here on YT.
It is USB compliant device, so it will work using Windows/Mac drivers. For better performance, install ASIO4All free driver. Original Behringer drivers on my website.
I've had one for years. A useful little Aux mixer the Q802 I've recently started using the USB facility to loop Desktop audio into my DAW for Streaming and video making. I was interested to learn that the Behringer Preampss have become popular with Metal studios for bringing their remote cab mics into their main mixers. They like the 'colouration' that the budget Behringer mixers provide. I rarely use a mixer for recording or mixing these days, When I do I have a choice of Soundcraft, Studiomaster and Euromix but it's been an age since I used outboard mixers for anything other than Aux routing.
@@RecordingStudio9 i saw some videos about they put 3.5mm aux cable to 6.35mm cable and connect with that. I doubt it works or not. Have you ever tried this ?
@RecordingStudio9com I don't think its gonna work with not being able to listen to playback and record Simultaneously. I will use it for live streaming instead. I just wanted to plug two XLRs in plus a line in from pick up in semi acoustic. Can't get it to go with tracks in cubase. It's frustrating.
A flawed product. Power input is 3 easily bent pins because of a weak DIN connector. Also you cannot hear another track while recording another which is absolutely stupid since people use mixers to overdub. A workaround hot patch of the usb l/r and line in/out can also fry an opamp. Save your money.
