Yes! this is one of the most comfortable tv interviews I've seen Mary in. She's vibing with Drew and i love to see it
Drew is lovely but she could turn it down a notch. She says similar things to all her celebrity guests and recently started this invasion of their personal space, so it all comes across as insincere and grating effusiveness, much like Fallon, especially since she couldn't name even one Mary song despite saying she's a lifelong fan of her music.
It's not necessary to blow smoke or feign intimacy to get a good interview. Kelly Clarkson comes across as more sincere cos she's just trying to have a good conversation without all the emotional transference.

Mary J. Blige is so many things. But one thing I will say best describes her is survivor. She's one of the greatest artists of our generation and her music is the soundtrack to self discovery, self love and how you can come from nowhere and become a somebody.
I love that Drew interviews her guest on the show and it feels like she’s also learning and healing through those guest and her own experiences
Let’s be real Drew will always be that girl and Mary will always be that girl , you can tell drew wanted to dive deep into something deep but had to stay on track.
One thing I’ve noticed about people in the industry, they’ve all said drew is sweet and fun to be around and work with .

I just love seeing both of these different opposite worlds coming together. They're both different but yet similar. Both of these amazing females have gone through toxic dysfunctional backgrounds but they both survived.
