My job involves tree pruning and surgery work...I still carry one of these in my pocket, but often rely more on my Silky Zubat which is a step up in price and quality. Having said that ,you have reviewed a seriously durable and functional saw which has served me well for years...Good review Mike and thanks for posting.
Good review I have a similar one and certainly wouldn't be without it when in the field. Combining fishing with even basic bushcraft makes for a nice wee adventure weekend or two. Very satisfying. Keep the vids coming !
Hey TA outdoors I’m a subscriber and am watching this over 3 years after you posted it and was wondering if you could do a review on your current saw, the boreal 21, or a comparison of the boreal and the bacho.
they are completely different types of saws but both are great at what they aim to do. I have the boreal 21 and it's perfect for sawing up deadfall for splitting into firewood. The laplander is perfect for coppicing clean cuts for various bushcraft tricks like sizing branches up for pothangers
Cheers clyde been looking and researching what would be best for me took on board what you said will get back to you if you don't mind atb buddy...lancashire
Put your hand through the strap to prevent it snagging as it flails around as you saw. Also keep working on that saw technique as i’ve seen Cubs with safer techniques.
+barrie watson Hi Barrie, I haven't had any sticking issues yet with the bahco, for the price you can't really go wrong! Silky is probably better but again more expensive like you say.
Best video I've seen on B.Laplander cutting technique. Keep'em coming.
Definitely not the worst. People often seem to have a rough time using tools properly these days.
I've just bought this saw to manage the small trees in my garden. It's fantastic.

+KeefsCattys That's reassuring thank you! Nice to know I'm using a product that others have found successful too :)
It's much easier to snap the blade on the Silky vs. the Bahco.
Step up in price but not quality. Swedish steel is hard to beat for quality.

Thanks John, appreciate your feedback! I will be combining the fishing and the bushcraft soon :)
Finally a bushcraft gadget that i can afford thanks!
Haha yeah a lot of 'bushcraft" gadgets have gourmet prices. This is true to its name though in quality, durability, comfort and price.
I’ve ordered one .. & a Mora Bushcraft Black knife ... from The Bushcraft Store ... buzzing .. cheers Chris & Sam
thanks maybe I will buy this now
What do you recommend for maintaining it?
I ordered that saw after watching Bjorn Andreas Bull-Hansen
How do you extinguish the flame afterwards?
That’s quite impressive
Excellent review.
Why is everywhere in the UK out of stock on these ?
Great product

Clyde MacTavish thanks for your input, I now have both saws and I thoroughly enjoy them both, I totally agree with what you said.
Elan Profumo No problem man! hahaha glad I could help you even a year later.

With ease 💪👌

Hi Mike! Just ordered this saw - do you still rate it? Maybe when you get out of your new bunker you could do a retro review?? atb snack.
How .uch was it.
Hallo Mike l use the silky gomboy find the bahco sticks when in use and is not so fast but it's a little more expensive. barrie

if you ever get a chance to try one do it , you will be surprised regards barrie
your new beard is better haha
wild animals have a saying: a man with an axe is dangerous. a man with a saw is dinner.
