Fantastic!!! Araiza was/is one of the most beautiful tenor voices of the last 30 years. Always singing with a great sense of taste and style without making foolish tricks with falsett ect. Just pure, honest and beautiful!!!! Bravo!!!!
Chi m'insegna a farmi amar?
Araiza is a master of the voice. I don't think singing Wagner was because his maturing voice demanding it. It was a matter of his technique 'enabling' him to do it. Even here in Nemorino, you can tell when the vibrato slows and goes a bit wider (meaning that the musculature in the throat is more active to maintain position against the high breath energy) he is at the highest limits of his natural resonance--and on the verge of singing in a chronically tiring manner. To me, he is and always will be the ideal Bel Canto tenor, but I prefer his Rossini, even over this beautiful singing, because, it seems to me, Rossini forces him not to press for volume as much.
I believe cause-effect are here the other way around. Araiza moved to heavier roles because his voice demanded it. The human voice is not a static matter along life. Nobody can keep physical characteristics constant during the whole life, same is with the voice. IMO Araiza did the right movements according to the development of his voice and artistic motivation.
@Macbett0 no he's still singing and doing a great job. Also he's a spinto tenor not a lyric. Although he also sings Wagner so he just might be a dramatic tenor.

I am also trying to get his Siegmund(Walküre) which he sung in 2007 at the Tiroler Festspiele in Austria!

That's not true - watch and hear him singing John Miles MUSIC here on YouYube (from July this year!)!
