Lindo demais✌👍👍
The work they're doing is wonderful and their passion for the project and restoration is clear to see. Looking forward to future updates.
this is what should happen with every abandoned F1 track. They're all a piece of history. Such a good work from the restorers.
So nice to see them renovating it in action!
That's what I want for those abandoned tracks: restoration and preservation, even if the track is only used for revival series and track days, I don't want to see important pieces of the history left to rot. I would love to see tracks like Sitges Terramar receiving this kind of treatment!😁
Indeed, look at Rouen-les-Essarts, nothing left. Even the cobbles at Noveau Monde have gone.
Well done and good luck to all concerned.
Been there a few times. It’s so evocative. I get a buzz every time I go there. Bravo les Amis. I hope one day they will get permission to rejoin the main route nearby and at least do some historic “races” using as much of the old track as possible.
Jackie Stewart raced against François Cevert in a Formula 2 race at Reims in 1969, which Cevert won. Cevert’s performance made a strong impression on Stewart, leading to Cevert being signed by the Tyrrell team the following year.
Was there last week as it goes
Bellissimi lavori, davvero bravi gli Amis de Reims, complimenti 👍 Ciao Herman, buona serata 🍀🏁❤️
Drove also through the end in the field
I love what they have done but I think I still love it in It's old overgrown unrestored state of magnificent dereliction.
I understand what you mean. But soon or later these deserted circuits are complete gone.
@@Circuitsofthepast True. I remember an article in Motorsprt magazine from 1997? Said something along 'it's not going to be here for long' so Allez les Ami's! Forgive my poor French?
Wow, when you said in previous videos that there was a group of weekenders who were voluntarily renovating, I thought that'd take years to have any noticeable effect but this is amazing already.
Well done to them. I wish there were more people like this out there. Stellar job.
As a patron, watchers must be advised that despite the tremendous work of the volunteers of the “amis-du-circuit-de-gueux”, they have been fighting with the town council for about a year, under pressure to hand over all they have done to commercial owners. The argument being, that the volunteers cannot provide a long-term future for the site, and as such their current forecast for car meets has since been significantly reduced.
It was available to commercial interests for many years- and nothing happened. If it were turned over to owners at this point, it would be gone in no time.
I think its a small group on the council of Gueux that have gained power that are the problem. I last visited in Aug 2022 and it's noticeable how much more has been done since then. Allez les Amis !!
And Gueux!
On very simle 2D driving simulator on google maps i can drive that track that still exist and i can ride it on that sim. That sim has no sound and looks like an old GTA top doen wiev game.. i like that simlpe sim that use actual google maps.. so cool.
Even allowing for English pronunciation ("Reems" rather than "Rance") "Go" is odd, I believe it should be "Guh" (based on my 'O' level French in the last century!).
Yes I know how to pronounce Reims-Gueux. Check this video: ua-cam.com/users/liveC2WpLn9Szmg
Please pronounce Reims correctly.
I know how to say RRREEE GEUU Check this video ua-cam.com/users/liveC2WpLn9Szmg
Les Amis du Reims-Geaux are the gold standard for old circuit restoration! Bravo! If only every old track had an organization as dedicated and indefatigable as the Amis!
