First off, there are currently no Pink Electric Rodents, and Flafffy is the only Pink Electric Pokemon. Second, I bet Clefable because Ash was originally supposed to have a Clefairy, and the ear tips are the same brown. However, this is where it gets confusing, its white belly would suggest that this is based on Wigglytuff, seeing as how Jigglypuff is in Smash, but Wigglytuff has White ear tips. Plus, Clefairy has a tail, but it's solid Pink, so why the Black tip? Maybe it's a mash of Wigglytuff and Clefable, but I think it's more so supposed to represent Clefable. -*Original* (Duh) -*Gorochu* (I am certain this was intentional, and it's the best thing ever

In my opinion, the look of the Item Bag is very cute. I took a screenshot of Sandbag in Waiting Room next to an Item bag, and called the screenshot 'Father and Son'. Also, when I tried out the Medusa Head, I was expecting it to turn your opponents into stone, but that would be kinda unfair. The recolours of Pikachu and Bandana Dee are so amazing. I mean, they're so good that I actually liked playing with them. I was checking out the changelog and the updates made SSF2 my favourite game to play on the computer. I started playing this since 0.8 came out. Also, Simon's Final Smash was AMAZING.
To note the Pikachu references, I'm not clear on all of them, but the most of them. The first batch, not counting Pikachu's default, , a possible reference to the anime's Pinkan Island arc with a look that might be how Pikachu would look if it had ate the island's unique fruit in the middle left (It could also be based on Clefairy/Clefable, given how they were originally going to be the Pokemon mascot before Pikachu usurped that), and on the far left is a colour scheme based on Raichu, Pikachu's evolved form. The far right is based on Raichu's shiny palette. The second batch, you got Pachirisu and Togedemaru, but the one on the far right is Marill. The middle left one (the brown one) is likely an original. It COULD be based off of Sandshrew/Sandslash? The third batch's far left and far right ones, the dark blue and green ones, are SSF2 originals, but the middle two are a Retro-styled palette with Pikachu's colour scheme changing to how it appeared in Pokemon Yellow on the right, and a Shiny Pikachu on the left. Also, all of the characters on the Thousand Sunny stage are crewmembers of the Straw Hat Pirates, named as such after the iconic headgear of their captain, that being, of course, Luffy. Oh, Medusa Heads. If you speak to any Castlevania player, chances are they have some story about how Medusa Heads (or some other similar enemy) knocked them into a bottomless pit. Their wave-like flying motion is ported straight from their source series, that being, as I already said, Castlevania.
Don't forget the best part of the update now you don't have to wait 3 seconds between matches in classic (that also applies to all star mode). That was legitimaly the thing I didn't like the most in ssf2.
Rayman's nerfs in this patch is giving me Naruto and Black Mage flashbacks. - For those who don't know: Naruto and Black Mage where considered mid tier in 0.9b (upper mid in the case for BM), but both got nerfed very hard when going into beta due to the players complaining that both characters are annoying and noob stompers. - 1.2.2 Rayman seems to be a repeat of that, and to a lesser extent Simon, but Simon is considered to be, in the competitive community, to be a very potent character, and I think he will still remain a fine character after the nerfs. - Edit: I know I am going to get responses on that "Rayman is OP"! The competitive community considers him a mid tier, due to possessing notable blindspots in his moves, hurtbox extending moves, and a neutral game that can be shut down without too much trouble by the upper tiers. Simon, in particular, hard counters him.
Gotta try out the new Rayman stuff. I do think the worst one is the jab range Nerf since that shit hit half the stage, but I still got fair and Nair I'll be good :bless:
This update is pretty nice. Been playing it early from the McLeodgaming Insider. I like the new trails on the characters, the badass One Piece stage, the new tracks, Simon's Final Smash and those Dee/Pikachu colors! Not bad! I will admit though, I half expected about 4+ characters with new colors, but seeing as we got a new gamemode + a new stage, I can't complain. I do wanna point out, just like Classic Mode, those images you get for beating Allstar tend to be cool references. I got the Lloyd one, and it's a great reference to one of the best scenes in Symphonia. Also, while I play Simon quite often (almost to the point of a secondary), I'm glad he got nerfed. The Cross size is now more accurate to how it actually is in Castlevania. But that's nothing on Rayman, good lord. Rayman got hit hard by the nerfs.

For Balance Changes I was expecting when peach floats when she's coming down it would be kinda like the super Mario run peach float and with that you can use the parasol
Not gonna lie, I'm kinda bummed by the Bandana Dee costumes. I thought they were going to actually have references to Kirby characters and enemies, but it just seems to be a random assortment of colors, besides the gold and the classic costumes. I would have thought the Bandana Dee colors in Kirby Star Allies for Player 2, 3, and 4 would have made it in, but sadly they have different colored bandanas.

This patch looks very nice. Wanted to ask something about All Star Mode tho. How does it determine the order you fight all the characters? Is it random like Melee or is it like Smash 4 where you fight them in the order they appear?
The order is a bit.. strange I'll admit. They are mostly bundled up franchise wise, but sometimes mixed together. There doesn't seem to be a super specific order, like when they joined a Demo/Update etc. But the order is fixed, not random, that's for sure.
It just follows the order they're in the selection screen. They're not ordered by franchise. It just happens that the characters in the first row are mostly from the mario franchise.

Honestly I don't think the Simon nerfs where handled well. Instead of hurting some other aspect of him, like sliding up b, movement speed, or something else to balance out the projectiles, they just made them smaller. Which imo is pretty lazy and not the best design wise. I think that the neutral b was a good way to handle it, but the side b is just atrocious. They should have made it slower, or do less knockback, or something. Not just make it smaller. It doesn't match up with the sprite, and doesn't sell the impact of the move, which is a HUGE thing when it comes to designing fighting games. It just feels unnatural.
Simon is still a beast though. His whip, range and sweetspots are still great. You're just advised not to constantly spam Specials. Be clever with them. And if we're gonna be nitpicky, the smaller Cross size is more accurate to how it looks in the actual Castlevania games.

I love All-Star in SSF2, I really do, but I think I found an oversight: Anyone else notice not all your health gets refilled when you leave the Rest Area, unlike official Smash games? Like, you take a heart container, and if it stops at 34% in the Rest Area, it stays at 34% when you enter a match?
That's intentional, every difficulty has different healing items. If you want full heals then you have to pick easy mode and take one of the Energy Tanks.

That is some hard nerfs for Rayman. Before this patch he literally had Smash 64 Kirby Down Air. Which meant that you can kill someone at zero percent.

I'm still very surprised SSF2 hasn't been taken down. Considering how stingy nintendo is, I'm just counting the days at this point.
When I you said sonic's down air meteor was removed, I didn't hear down air so I thought that they removed the FAir meteor...I would never play sonic ever again if they removed that meteor. Also...why is the cross that small. I mean...ok make it smaller but not that small that pichu can stand and not get hit at all!

Honestly I don't think the Simon nerfs where handled well.
Instead of hurting some other aspect of him, like sliding up b, movement speed, or something else to balance out the projectiles, they just made them smaller. Which imo is pretty lazy and not the best design wise. I think that the neutral b was a good way to handle it, but the side b is just atrocious. They should have made it slower, or do less knockback, or something. Not just make it smaller. It doesn't match up with the sprite, and doesn't sell the impact of the move, which is a HUGE thing when it comes to designing fighting games. It just feels unnatural.
Simon is still a beast though. His whip, range and sweetspots are still great.
You're just advised not to constantly spam Specials. Be clever with them.
And if we're gonna be nitpicky, the smaller Cross size is more accurate to how it looks in the actual Castlevania games.

I love All-Star in SSF2, I really do, but I think I found an oversight: Anyone else notice not all your health gets refilled when you leave the Rest Area, unlike official Smash games? Like, you take a heart container, and if it stops at 34% in the Rest Area, it stays at 34% when you enter a match?
That's intentional, every difficulty has different healing items. If you want full heals then you have to pick easy mode and take one of the Energy Tanks.
Lol, Rayman looked broken in that clip, he made the game look way more advanced lol, 5:14 , like damn next level combos
