Cactus Caffeine Right now in Canada is still cold and windy and we are tired of this weather.🤪 We only have few months in summer and still, we’re not getting it on time. 😫
Thank you Maria. I will be making an inventory of all the seeds I have and will have from this year, as well as from last year. From there, I will see how much I can give away. ☺️
Gorgeous blooms Ana. As Carl said it’s Notocactus (Parodia) Ottonis. One of these was on my wish list but with my recent plant issues any new purchases are kind of on hold now. Good job you noticed those seedlings before they cooked under the sun lol. Thank you for sharing the blooms Ana, have an awesome week 😊👍☀️🌵🌼
Thanks for the ID! I have many more cacti with no names. I should make you and Carl ID them for me. Lol! 😁 Just kidding. Some of the seedlings were baked. Those are the only ones that survived. The sun has shifted in my backyard and I did not notice it right away.
I had 2 pots and the flowers were blooming alternately. Until now, they are still in flower. 😍 Thanks, Natty. I got these from Walmart. You might see them, too in your area.
I was able to make my pArodia blooms beginning this year and the color was like purple . That’s pretty yellow. I hope mine blooms again . I was so impressed when it bloom , I never seen the exact blooms before until now.
Hi Myra! Yes, parodia seems to bloom easily even when grown indoors. I love their flowers. Make sure you post a video when you get blooms on yours again. ☺️
ENJOYED this and the video on flowering very much. I realize now that I gave up too soon on my seedlings I planted before spring. Thank you for the beauty and knowledge you share. I will watch for when you are giving away seeds. I want to try my luck again.
I am harvesting most of the seed pods now. I will make an inventory and make an announcement in my future videos. Thank you for watching and leaving a very kind comment. Coffee cheers ☕️☕️ and may you have a great day! 😊🌵
@@CactusCaffeine Oh yes, we hope the rest of the seedling will grow very well. They have been tested in a tuff way so they are strong for sure. The plastic grow box was melted...gosh...would be lovely if some of that heat come over...SOME of it, hahaha ;-) :-D XD XXXXXX
Hi Anna, absolutely gorgeous gorgeous, gorgeous blooms!!! What an abundance of blooms too. You're incredible with these plants! Fantastic my friend. To help with the name, it's a Notocactus Ottonis. Thank you for making a channel to share all the joy, beauty and knowledge with us. From the garden city of India to you, have a pleasant week! Cheers and God bless.
Thank you Carl for the ID. I looked it up and I think you are right. Ha! After 2 years, my cactus now has a name. 😃 When I do another collection update, I will say the name and I will make sure to thank you.
Very pretty, Anna. 😍😍👍👍 Even the shape of the cacti is beautiful. I realized that parodia species are quite easy to grow and flower. They aren't such fussy plants as compared to other types. I exposed mine out in the ground under full sunlight and they seem to love it. You even successfully planted the seeds. And you've such great plans for the seedlings. 👍👍😍😍
@@CactusCaffeine Yes, mine is out 24/7 under full sun and rain. No problem at all. In fact, I might do a video on my cacti that are all exposed to our tropical weather so that anyone who wants to try planting on the ground/pots under the weather don't have to experiment anymore. The proof will be what they can see from my videos. And that's the main reason I always plant cacti and succulents that can strive under our very hot/wet weather. I try to avoid fussy/delicate cacti. 🤭🤭🤭🌵🌵🌵🌵
That is a good idea! My cacti are getting too dehydrated now and some are even burning. I am moving them all under more shaded areas and are covering some with shade cloth. I wish I can plant them all in the ground but most of them cannot tolerate our summer heat and freezing winter.
So pretty 🤩 i got one of this too and it bloomed a few years ago. I wonder why it never bloomed again. Perhaps time to change soil and move them out of my greenhouse 🌞
Hi Karen! I am happy to share them. I will just wait until all the seeds are ready this year and then I will make an announcement in my channel when I am ready to give them out. So please stay tuned. Thank you! ☺️
This name of this cactus is Parodia (Notocactus) Ottonis. Thank you Carl (The Desert Plant Diary) and Daz (Cacti Mania) for the ID.

Gorgeous bloom! 👌😍 The babies are so cute too. I’m glad you are able to rescue the babies. It is getting so hot here in Florida too. 💐❤️😘

Yes Molly. They flower every year and they are pretty. You have yours in the ground? That means they can handle a lot of rain, too?

Yes, maybe that will help. Fingers crossed. 🤞 😉
Beautiful flowers!
Love Parodias 😍
this type of cactus does great Indoor easy to flower.
Did you find the name?
Yes, Carl of Desert Plant Diary and Daz of Cacti Mania both said Parodia Ottonis. 🙂 Thanks, George!
Is it has a frangrance?
No, this one has no fragrance. Would have been great if it has. 😊🌵☕️
Can I have some seeds please?
Hi Karen! I am happy to share them. I will just wait until all the seeds are ready this year and then I will make an announcement in my channel when I am ready to give them out. So please stay tuned. Thank you! ☺️
Do these Cacti blooms change colors over the years? Some plants bloom different colors every year....just curious!!
Some are sensitive to changes in the soil ph. Also fertilizer can sometimes make the flower color a little different.
