    Sad Stuartis the best Stuart! 😂 👍
    Fun fact: Kevin Sussman improvised that "I love you" line on set and it was kept in, which led to the show exploring that "loser trait" in the character. This improv is exceptional for the show as it rarely happened on account of the showrunners not being fans of improv and prefering that their cast stick to what is writen on the pages of the script ... I still can't understand why they are so stiff about it as many of the greatest moments in TV and Movies were total improvs and I think it is wise to let actors explore characters in this manner, even if the improves don't make it to the screen (but it is what it is!) This is a good exemple of that as Stuart refering to his home as a smaller sad place with comic books as his store must have been in the script originally and shows that while he seemed a bit smoother and more put together in previous episodes, the writers had already decided that that was more of a front than his whole personality (And, lets face it, this sad-clown personae fits more with the main cast of our nerd-clan than anything else)

      I mean, while some of the best moments come from improv, it can easily go wrong or go too far or become too much. Look at your average dungeons & dragons session and that stuff can go off the rails really fast!

    I related to Sheldon so much here, and this episode of TBBT always brings me such awful memories. My parents also used to fight a lot when I was little, and they'd send me upstairs to my grandpa during that, but they had no idea I could hear them from there. I was so happy once they finally divorced, it was finally quiet. Though I felt like I had no more home

    Yelling gives me ptsd my self my grandmother raised me and because she lost one of her children to a car accident my uncle omar god bless his soul she was insanely over protective and she lost her temper too often that made me very sensitive to unnecessary arguments and yelling specifically. My copping mechanism was music and puzzles just putting on head phones blasting some Yanni and putting a buzzle together I also sometimes used to go to the backyard and climb a tree we had in there and also listen to music and maybe read a book. I think if someone decided to be a parent they should make sure they don't behave in this manner because kids are like sponges they absorb whatever energy the parents have so that energy should most of the time be positive.

    We've already learned several reasons for why Sheldon does what he does from watching "Young Sheldon", and from the last episode that aired, we saw when Sheldon started wearing those superhero shirts, but with how the show is progressing, I feel like were getting closer and closer to explanation of why he does that repetitive triple knock that he does. We already know why he does it because he told Penny in The Big Bang Theory, but seeing the experience that made him start doing it is going to hit a lot of people a lot of different ways. Especially people who like George.

    I’m female and I agree with Leonard 100%. What person in a mature relationship doesn’t consider their partner’s feelings about an ex staying with them? Penny not even mentioning to Leonard that it’s an ex to start is ridiculous and then thinking his opinion and feelings don’t matter shows how selfish and immature she is and it’s obvious she doesn’t know what it means to be in a real partnership. I really dislike the way this show acts as if Penny is some prize that Leonard should be lucky to be around and therefore should acquiesce to whatever she wants so she won’t leave him.

    • @davewade30
      @davewade30 Рік тому +2

      I agree 100%!
      At least this is one of the few times Leonard stands his ground and gets a concession from her in the end.
      Personally if a girlfriend sprung the same situation on me and refused to see my point of view, that would be a deal breaker for me.
      Trust is one thing. Inviting trouble by living with an ex for "a few weeks" is just dumb. I wouldn't do it to her, nor would I put up with her doing it to me. It's more about respect than trust. IMHO.

    Personally I do think Penny was within her right to have her ex sleep on the couch if she so wished, but Leonard was also within his right to be annoyed/upset with it. The big problem was that neither really respected each other's thoughts and feelings. Penny should've been more understanding of Leonard's insecurities as she already knows it's something he struggles with. At the same time, Leonard, while he should have been allowed to feel uncomfortable with Penny's decision, should have been more respectful of it, as it's made clear that he has no rational reason to feel threatened.
    But yeah, Leonard's insecurities and doubts about his own worth as a romantic partner is one of the big hurdles of their relationship at this point.
    Stuart was definitely picking up Howard's 'creep' slack this episode...

    • @tehdipstick

      @@shomershabbos6291 I agree that Penny should've done a better job communicating by telling Leonard, but communication is a two-way street, and when she did tell him he let his insecurities get the better of him.

    • @cassieberringer7427
      @cassieberringer7427 3 роки тому +5

      Interesting take. I am totally on Leonard's side regarding the specific issue of the ex sleeping over. I personally find it highly inappropriate. But I'm surprised so many (you and the replies here and Eric) are cool with it, considering I've met several guys who wouldn't even be okay with me having communication with ex's let alone letting them come over for anything even "innocent."

    • @tehdipstick
      @tehdipstick 3 роки тому +3

      @@cassieberringer7427 It's perfectly understandable. I'm not saying I think there's a right or wrong in this scenario. It's all about personal preference and what you're comfortable with. As mentioned, I think Leonard is perfectly within his right to feel uncomfortable about the situation, and to voice his concerns. At the same time, Leonard has been shown to feel very insecure about their relationship. It was the driving force behind the A plot of the last episode, for one. The problem for me isn't so much how he feels, but how he responds.
      Penny's at fault as well for making assumptions and not asking Leonard beforehand, there's no doubt about that, but Leonard doesn't really try to hear Penny out or to explain why he has problems with it. It's unreasonable for Penny to expect Leonard to just be okay with it, or to hide it from him if she thought he wouldn't be okay with it, but it's also unreasonable for Leonard to just shut her down, basically say she's being stupid, and then continue to escalate their argument without even trying to look at the situation from her point of view. He's so threatened by the idea of her having an ex sleeping on her couch that he's not picking up on the underlying implication that she's confident enough in her relationship with him that it's a non-issue for her.
      Neither of them are doing a good job of communicating. Penny didn't consider Leonard's feelings and doesn't really explain why she thought it was a good idea to let the ex sleep on the couch, and Leonard immediately takes a defensive stance where he's actively sabotaging any chance at the two of them just having a rational conversation by being untrusting, condescending, passive-aggressive and unwilling to look at her side of things. It's no wonder they both end up just yelling at each other.

    • @vkdeeno
      @vkdeeno 3 роки тому

      tbh this one's a really tricky one... I mean who's ever gonna be okay with an ex sleeping in your spouses home with him/her for several weeks... especially if its just announced like that
      but at the same time it really is the other person's own life and choice.
      but I do feel like that it's a boundary that's a bit far to cross over so I'm more with Leonard on this. his reaction is normal. penny's actions of having an ex sleep over for multiple weeks isn't a normal boundary for relationships

    One of the reasons I'm not interested in a romantic relationship:
    My parents have to have a screaming match every day over what's going on in congress. Mom says it's common for couples to have 'disputes'. I'm an adult and I still can't handle shouting. Unlike Sheldon though, I've gotten so used to it that I've tuned it out rather than just leave when the shouting rises. But if butting heads like bulls is what being in a relationship is all about: I'm better off alone.
    Still, it'd be cool to go to Comic Con dressed as Aragorn and have a lady dressed as Arwen with me.

    • @kateorgera5907
      @kateorgera5907 3 роки тому +5

      To be fair, not all couples dispute by shouting. Some calmly talk things through, some become passive aggressive (which is in some ways worse, but no shouting). Shouting is not the only answer, but that is something you'd have to work out with the person in question.
