Okay, after finally beating this game I can say a few things on Phil's playstyle. 1) He nearly always favours big weapons over quicker ones. This leaves him in big, committed swings which gives him no time to get his guard up. 2) His depth perception during the Victor fight was astonishing. 3) He seems to be doing less damage than I was expecting. Could be down to him favouring the big scythe but I was pushing more numbers out with the Umbrella. 4) He barely uses grindstones for extra damage. 5) He's running away from enemies a lot but I never found the standard enemies to be that much a challenge. I fought everything for the Ergo and to have a full fable bar whenever someone strong turned up. 6) He's incredibly focused on parrying, neglecting his dodge when it could be the smarter option. 7) When he does dodge, it's mostly backwards into a corner. 8) He'd rather heal immediately instead of getting guard regain back through attacking.
Ok, I've had some more time to watch and I have a couple of things to say. 1. I love your editing. Absolutely love it. You may be my favorite TIHYDP'er because of your clever, fun, and unobtrusive edits and I still challenge you to do an entire episode of something with only Neil Breen quotes. 2. That said, I do have one small critique of this one. When you post text on screen for us to read - 5:12:13 - It's only on there for a couple of quick seconds and I always miss it so I have to rewind and pause. Maybe in the future leave those up just a little longer? 3. The font you used for "Deaths" is a little... weird I think. 4. I'm honestly surprised Phil wasn't as upset with this game as he was others like Elden Ring and Bloodborne. Legit surprised about that. 5. I am NOT surprised that Phil can't read or retain any information given to him by the game ever. Never change, DSP.

5:58:17 Well, since you asked. He skipped: - All the enemies at the front gate. They all respawn other than the cannons and there's no good items there so it's not too big of a deal - All the enemies between the Door Guardian lamp and the bridge lamp. Again, they all respawn too though the two giant dog scorpion things are great for farming. - The enemies leading up to Black Cat. I'm pretty sure they also all respawn however one of the items he missed is a Full Moonstone of the Covenant, a very rare upgrade material - The Black Cat. He's an optional boss that you can fight if you don't give him golden fruit though you get the rewards you get for killing him if you skip anyway since skipping it is a bit of a side quest. If you accept the pairs help in the Black Rabbit area and then give them golden fruit after Victor, you can skip the Cat and the Fox fight. - The puppet area has a few unique encounters. The dual axe puppet and the giant Pinocchio doll drop items, the Pinocchio doll in particular dropping a Quartz. - The chest in the area before Laxasia has the Red Fox's Amulet which increases both Strength and Dex by 3. The last enemy there is unique to the area actually. It drops the upgrade material for the arm. Seeing as the run between the beach to Laxasia is most of the last chapter, I'd say anywhere between 2/3 to 75% of the area he skipped. He skips the rest of it two after Laxasia, including Red Fox, who is the best NPC fight in the game, and another quartz from the disruption wrestler guy.
I appreciate the detailed answer, I thought he skipped 80% of that area, but it still that was the majority regardless. He got that Red Fox Amulet and equipped it instead of his technique amulet which adds 4 to his technique attribute.
@@Sufyan_Aljamal I'll also add that I don't think he's overleveled by the end. Technique, Capacity and Vitality is about the same level I finished the game at. I had maybe 7-10 more levels in Vigor. Stamina is pretty generous so I guess being at 19 Vigor isn't bad.

I wanna note that some of the things that Phil complains about would get patched. Such as carry weight, the Capacity stat got buffed and many Boss Amulets had their weight reduced. And, a few bosses got nerfed, like King of Puppets and Archbishop had their first phase HP nerfed.
While that's good information to have, he's still a bitch for complaining in the way he does. Pointing out flaws and being a bit frustrated is one thing, but he instantly goes from 0 to ultra baby bitch mode at the slightest inconvenience lol.
I doubt that they changed those things because theylistened to Phil's complaints, he's not relevant outside of the troll community aside from that God of War bit from years ago.
5:40:10 Yeah, I am tapping out here. This is a wonderfully-crafted TIHYDP, but watching him spam that gun constantly and run like a bitch to cheese these fights is bad enough. Now that he can just stay away from the boss while the Legion automatically charges, and then rinse and repeat the cheese is too much. It is fine using that gun to get out of sticky situations, but this doofus flat out relies on the thing way too much, and it gives him an excuse to act all high and mighty about beating a boss in a short number of attempts after spamming it constantly.

Phil has played over a dozens Souls games and Soulslikes by now, yet he still seems baffled by basic Soulslike gameplay. First he's confused by attacking with the right bumper, then he doesn't even recognise a parry animation when he sees it. Gonna outright say, this specific time i actually feel a little bad for phil. I've played this. My friend bought it for us to both play, and while i wouldn't say the game was mind-blowing, the first half was actually enjoyable... After the master of puppets the game takes a nosedive off a cliff to such an extent that even guides online who can show you successfully how to tackle each boss, will OUTRIGHT state that certain bosses aren't worth the stress, and should just be cheesed instead. The game also just starts slapping status effects on EVERYTHING and it's not even just the fact they do that, it basically starts spamming exactly two: disruption and Decay. You basically have the option of dying instantly, or breaking your weapon. constantly. Minibosses become standard enemies, except with all the benefits of minibosses at points. The game genuinely felt like a bait and switch by the time i finished it. It turned from fun to miserable by the end to an extent that i had to turn from recommending the game to others who were new to souls games, to telling them outright to stay away. Souls has done some BS, but certain bosses later in lies of P are outright broken. Not to mention a ton of them are labeled as "optional" while holding on to keys and other things you NEED for progress. Edit:i had the wrong name for a status effect, i meant decay.
Not 2 minutes in and I'm already groaning. He really said the game never told him how to attack (which it did) and it's literally the same button used to attack in every FromSoft game which, let's be frank, this essentially is. Okay, 7 hours and 17 minutes to go...Lord, grant me strength.

Leave it to Phil to make it so far in the game without using the weapon mixing function. Certain combinations DESTROY if you discover them and learn how to use them. But instead he uses the default weapon configs and bashes himself against the bosses over and over.
As a first time player to a 3d soulslike and took 9hours over 2 days to beat simon and took 13 hours longer than Phil to beat it it’s pathetic how awful he is with a decade of souls borne experience

@@loubloom1941 Yeah, there are a lot of situations where you have to deal with 2 snipers while 3 other enemies are onto you. Plus enviromental hazards like falls don't make it easy. But still, Phil would rage incredibly hard when put in this situations, specially when the game has designated progress barriers like Umbral entities or gates that requires you to not have enemies onto you to go past. And if i remember correctly enemies don't have leash distance, meaning that they will follow phil to the ends of the earth.
I think it has the Sam e problem as dark souls 2 as it’s so difficult at the start with the gank enemies but the further you get into the game the easier it gets because you can become so tanky. With lotf and dark souls 2 after about the halfway point I basically stopped dying

I dont really tend to watch modern TIHYDPs because 1) from 2017 onward, they're boring. Phil isnt raging anymore and he has stream chat hold his hand and kills the enjoyment. Even some stragglers from 2013-2016 can be good because he wasn't a full time streamer yet and didnt fully embrace chat and 2) they're too long. Nobody wants to watch a 9 hour Crash 4 video and the Outsyder's videos need a good trim and edit job too. Everything from 2008-2012 is gold because he still uses the old camera format and he tended to be more unintentionally funny back then then he was after that. I kind of think people just wanna jump in for a couple hours or so and jump out. GTA SA OG run is probably one of my favorite TIHYDPs. Its short, hits the best highlights and then its over. I watched his actual playthrough of it because I assumed it would be even funnier and it wasn't, the TIHYDP is still the best way to watch that. But I've been watching this over the last week and I have to say this one you've done here manages to overcome both of those for me. And I just want to echo what the other commenter said: the editing in this is great. It's also unique by implementing clever editing with the green filter DSP talking whilst he's doing something else and it also saves some time. It also builds anticipation as I was like "oh wow he actually killed the boss this time?" which I felt with the Green Monster cuz that felt like it went on for a while lol cuz it would reset every time I came back here. I enjoy all the references you've put in and the quality stays right until the end, the Pillar Man joke made me laugh and that's near the end of hour 6. Also that death and cheese counter must have been a lot of work, cant even begin to imagine what that was like so brave for that alone. When I saw this video was as long as it was I was a bit apprehensive and I probably wouldnt have seen it if I didn't enjoy the game myself and finish it a couple days ago. But even Phil manages to make that all annoying just from how he plays. He just seems so nervous to just jump in, he always doubts himself and seems to want to stay away from combat and cheese everything as much as he can (Falcon Eyes) he talks about everything in a roundabout way to try to get some help from chat. It's really bad at the start. I had some help too but only to get the trophies, everything else I explored myself. He talks about changing weapons for the audience but I feel like that can have negative consequences too as you need to keep learning a new weapon's moves for a hard boss. I do agree with what he said about summons, I dont mind if you use them but I saw a YT on here where someone said the game's platinum made them go 'insane' but they used summons, guides, OP weapon loadouts and overlevelled and Im like bruh are you serious, you just played on easy mode- which is fine if you wanna do that but don't claim the game made you go 'insane' christ. I also don't think someone telling him there's an extra boss somewhere is that much of a spoiler because I missed that Survivor fight myself and when I saw him fight it I went back there to do it myself but all the other times when people tell him Riddle answers or what choices to make and where to go, that is a spoiler and lame. Find it ridiculous he just comes out and speaks about Manus at the end review part like it wasn't a spoiler lol and I think he told the truth sometimes by mistake or because he forgot. He just rushed the final dungeon and that's kinda lame honestly. I wanted it to be over too because it felt like a slog but I still played it properly, he just calls everything a waste of time lol. I think they've made Nameless Puppet harder if Im honest. But lol like he feels like he has to defend himself all the time against any criticism, despite having the memory of a sieve. Also did you just put in the Sonic Adventure 2 song over the Laxsia fight so it would stick out when he said "I dont remember her doing that" and I was like "well wait a minute" lol. I will agree with that other comment too that your text could be on screen longer but I usually pause it anyway so its fine, you've already addressed this so its all cool. I don't level my weapons or even change them, or use buffs, or grindstones, I usually end up making the worst build known to man even after playing every From game and I didnt even use the Legion arm until the Nameless Puppet and I don't expect anyone else to play the same way I do but he has all the benefits of playing the game how it should be and he still wasn't that great. I usually keep the same weapon, I played DSIII with the Broadsword the whole game because it seemed like it was always good but this game seemed like it wanted you to change at some points, until end game when you get boss weapons. Him using Falcon Eyes doesn't seem to be contradictory to what he said about changing weapons but it does seem kinda boring. He did impress me with the final boss similarly to Sekiro but hiding behind a shield seems to be what he does best, but it does seem like he actually learned the skill those games wanted to teach you and put everything you've learned to the test on a final boss that needs it. Whereas I just play everything super aggressive like it is Bloodborne so that may speak to why I have more of an issue sometimes lmao. I find parrying boring and if I knew the Bloodborne inspiration for this game was just in aesthetics and not gameplay then I may not have not have gotten it. Explains why Genichiro Ashina, or whatever his name is, took me like 6 hours straight lmao. Got no idea how a strength build would work in this game at all. Not a fan of the P Organ holding key features behind it either, feels out of place, like other things in game, like how most exploration items always have an enemy sneak trap attack, bleh. Once I noticed that I couldnt un-notice it. Don't want a Bloodborne 2 because it wouldn't be what people want at all. Best FromSoft derivative but still a ways to go for me personally; especially the bosses and the horrid Fury attacks that feel right out of 2007. I don't normally write many YT comments, or long comments for that matter, because I never check my notifications on here unlike other social media but I have just got done watching a well edited 7 hour video that I've been watching over the past week so I have had some thoughts floating around my mind. 10 minutes left now and just wanted to type it out before I forget some stuff. I appreciate the detailed comment. 1- The style you're watching is all thanks to the constructive criticisms I'd got on my TIHYDP Elden Ring 2022 Run videos, without them, I would probably still be doing videos in no-montage format. 2-Fun fact: I skip editing fights until I do the montage edits, so I edit them blind (not knowing what DSP would say or do on the next attempts), similarly in Laxasia's fight; I saw her speeding up and DSP wasn't catching up to her speed, and I was like" Yeah, this is good for a Sonic's BGM", but later (for some reason) DSP forgot about that move and I always reference something he forgets especially if it happened in the same stream session, so that's why Sonic's BGM was included thrice overall. 3-Thank you for the feedback and the detailed comment (again) and I'm trying to perfect this format since people like it.

Green Phil cam is a great idea
I wanna note that some of the things that Phil complains about would get patched.
Such as carry weight, the Capacity stat got buffed and many Boss Amulets had their weight reduced.
And, a few bosses got nerfed, like King of Puppets and Archbishop had their first phase HP nerfed.
While that's good information to have, he's still a bitch for complaining in the way he does. Pointing out flaws and being a bit frustrated is one thing, but he instantly goes from 0 to ultra baby bitch mode at the slightest inconvenience lol.
I doubt that they changed those things because theylistened to Phil's complaints, he's not relevant outside of the troll community aside from that God of War bit from years ago.

Yeah, I am tapping out here. This is a wonderfully-crafted TIHYDP, but watching him spam that gun constantly and run like a bitch to cheese these fights is bad enough. Now that he can just stay away from the boss while the Legion automatically charges, and then rinse and repeat the cheese is too much. It is fine using that gun to get out of sticky situations, but this doofus flat out relies on the thing way too much, and it gives him an excuse to act all high and mighty about beating a boss in a short number of attempts after spamming it constantly.

Gonna outright say, this specific time i actually feel a little bad for phil.
I've played this. My friend bought it for us to both play, and while i wouldn't say the game was mind-blowing, the first half was actually enjoyable...
After the master of puppets the game takes a nosedive off a cliff to such an extent that even guides online who can show you successfully how to tackle each boss, will OUTRIGHT state that certain bosses aren't worth the stress, and should just be cheesed instead.
The game also just starts slapping status effects on EVERYTHING and it's not even just the fact they do that, it basically starts spamming exactly two: disruption and Decay. You basically have the option of dying instantly, or breaking your weapon. constantly.
Minibosses become standard enemies, except with all the benefits of minibosses at points.
The game genuinely felt like a bait and switch by the time i finished it. It turned from fun to miserable by the end to an extent that i had to turn from recommending the game to others who were new to souls games, to telling them outright to stay away. Souls has done some BS, but certain bosses later in lies of P are outright broken. Not to mention a ton of them are labeled as "optional" while holding on to keys and other things you NEED for progress.

Leave it to Phil to make it so far in the game without using the weapon mixing function. Certain combinations DESTROY if you discover them and learn how to use them.

Lords of the fallen is only hard when they gank you with like 20 enemies. Lots of artificial difficulty.
@@loubloom1941 Yeah, there are a lot of situations where you have to deal with 2 snipers while 3 other enemies are onto you. Plus enviromental hazards like falls don't make it easy. But still, Phil would rage incredibly hard when put in this situations, specially when the game has designated progress barriers like Umbral entities or gates that requires you to not have enemies onto you to go past. And if i remember correctly enemies don't have leash distance, meaning that they will follow phil to the ends of the earth.
I think it has the Sam e problem as dark souls 2 as it’s so difficult at the start with the gank enemies but the further you get into the game the easier it gets because you can become so tanky. With lotf and dark souls 2 after about the halfway point I basically stopped dying
And by the end of the game I had a great sword that could basically attack 360 degrees so the gank was no longer a problem

I dont really tend to watch modern TIHYDPs because 1) from 2017 onward, they're boring. Phil isnt raging anymore and he has stream chat hold his hand and kills the enjoyment. Even some stragglers from 2013-2016 can be good because he wasn't a full time streamer yet and didnt fully embrace chat and 2) they're too long. Nobody wants to watch a 9 hour Crash 4 video and the Outsyder's videos need a good trim and edit job too. Everything from 2008-2012 is gold because he still uses the old camera format and he tended to be more unintentionally funny back then then he was after that. I kind of think people just wanna jump in for a couple hours or so and jump out. GTA SA OG run is probably one of my favorite TIHYDPs. Its short, hits the best highlights and then its over. I watched his actual playthrough of it because I assumed it would be even funnier and it wasn't, the TIHYDP is still the best way to watch that.
But I've been watching this over the last week and I have to say this one you've done here manages to overcome both of those for me. And I just want to echo what the other commenter said: the editing in this is great. It's also unique by implementing clever editing with the green filter DSP talking whilst he's doing something else and it also saves some time. It also builds anticipation as I was like "oh wow he actually killed the boss this time?" which I felt with the Green Monster cuz that felt like it went on for a while lol cuz it would reset every time I came back here. I enjoy all the references you've put in and the quality stays right until the end, the Pillar Man joke made me laugh and that's near the end of hour 6. Also that death and cheese counter must have been a lot of work, cant even begin to imagine what that was like so brave for that alone. When I saw this video was as long as it was I was a bit apprehensive and I probably wouldnt have seen it if I didn't enjoy the game myself and finish it a couple days ago.
But even Phil manages to make that all annoying just from how he plays. He just seems so nervous to just jump in, he always doubts himself and seems to want to stay away from combat and cheese everything as much as he can (Falcon Eyes) he talks about everything in a roundabout way to try to get some help from chat. It's really bad at the start. I had some help too but only to get the trophies, everything else I explored myself. He talks about changing weapons for the audience but I feel like that can have negative consequences too as you need to keep learning a new weapon's moves for a hard boss. I do agree with what he said about summons, I dont mind if you use them but I saw a YT on here where someone said the game's platinum made them go 'insane' but they used summons, guides, OP weapon loadouts and overlevelled and Im like bruh are you serious, you just played on easy mode- which is fine if you wanna do that but don't claim the game made you go 'insane' christ.
I also don't think someone telling him there's an extra boss somewhere is that much of a spoiler because I missed that Survivor fight myself and when I saw him fight it I went back there to do it myself but all the other times when people tell him Riddle answers or what choices to make and where to go, that is a spoiler and lame. Find it ridiculous he just comes out and speaks about Manus at the end review part like it wasn't a spoiler lol and I think he told the truth sometimes by mistake or because he forgot. He just rushed the final dungeon and that's kinda lame honestly. I wanted it to be over too because it felt like a slog but I still played it properly, he just calls everything a waste of time lol. I think they've made Nameless Puppet harder if Im honest. But lol like he feels like he has to defend himself all the time against any criticism, despite having the memory of a sieve. (Who's Antonia) lmao. I get he plays loads of games but man... Find it weird he plays these games tbh but he manages to do it, so anyone can!
I enjoyed your spoiler definition section which feels like ages ago now. Also did you just put in the Sonic Adventure 2 song over the Laxsia fight so it would stick out when he said "I dont remember her doing that" and I was like "well wait a minute" lol. I will agree with that other comment too that your text could be on screen longer but I usually pause it anyway so its fine, you've already addressed this so its all cool.
I don't level my weapons or even change them, or use buffs, or grindstones, I usually end up making the worst build known to man even after playing every From game and I didnt even use the Legion arm until the Nameless Puppet and I don't expect anyone else to play the same way I do but he has all the benefits of playing the game how it should be and he still wasn't that great. I usually keep the same weapon, I played DSIII with the Broadsword the whole game because it seemed like it was always good but this game seemed like it wanted you to change at some points, until end game when you get boss weapons. Him using Falcon Eyes doesn't seem to be contradictory to what he said about changing weapons but it does seem kinda boring. He did impress me with the final boss similarly to Sekiro but hiding behind a shield seems to be what he does best, but it does seem like he actually learned the skill those games wanted to teach you and put everything you've learned to the test on a final boss that needs it.
Whereas I just play everything super aggressive like it is Bloodborne so that may speak to why I have more of an issue sometimes lmao. I find parrying boring and if I knew the Bloodborne inspiration for this game was just in aesthetics and not gameplay then I may not have not have gotten it. Explains why Genichiro Ashina, or whatever his name is, took me like 6 hours straight lmao. Got no idea how a strength build would work in this game at all. Not a fan of the P Organ holding key features behind it either, feels out of place, like other things in game, like how most exploration items always have an enemy sneak trap attack, bleh. Once I noticed that I couldnt un-notice it. Don't want a Bloodborne 2 because it wouldn't be what people want at all. Best FromSoft derivative but still a ways to go for me personally; especially the bosses and the horrid Fury attacks that feel right out of 2007.
I don't normally write many YT comments, or long comments for that matter, because I never check my notifications on here unlike other social media but I have just got done watching a well edited 7 hour video that I've been watching over the past week so I have had some thoughts floating around my mind. 10 minutes left now and just wanted to type it out before I forget some stuff. 1- The style you're watching is all thanks to the constructive criticisms I'd got on my TIHYDP Elden Ring 2022 Run videos, without them, I would probably still be doing videos in no-montage format.
2-Fun fact: I skip editing fights until I do the montage edits, so I edit them blind (not knowing what DSP would say or do on the next attempts), similarly in Laxasia's fight; I saw her speeding up and DSP wasn't catching up to her speed, and I was like" Yeah, this is good for a Sonic's BGM", but later (for some reason) DSP forgot about that move and I always reference something he forgets especially if it happened in the same stream session, so that's why Sonic's BGM was included thrice overall.
