  • On November 30, 2024, we made history together! Against all odds, KALIPAY pulled off the first-ever Paella Gigante in the Visayas Region-a spectacular event that was as much a celebration of our love for Negros as it was for our KALIPAY children.
The journey to this day was far from easy. Two months of tireless preparation pushed us to our limits. Countless late nights, logistical challenges, and moments of doubt tested our resolve. But every ounce of effort, every stressful moment, was fueled by our passion to not only give joy to disadvantaged children but also to give back to our beloved Negros Island.
The giant paella, cooked with love and care by our friends from LTB Philippines Chefs Association, wasn’t just a dish; it was a symbol of hope and community. Special shoutout to Bryant Lao, who worked his magic by crafting the giant paellera just three days before the event-a feat that made this incredible day possible!
The day turned out to be nothing short of perfect. From the vibrant energy of the crowd, gasp worthy musical performances, to the mouthwatering aroma of the paella, every detail came together seamlessly, bringing together every Negrense for the purpose of supporting KALIPAY, making every rescue possible.
More importantly, everyone went beyond and above their duties to make Paella Gigante the success that it was. From our Board of Trustees, our hardworking Kalipay family, and the kindness of our newfound friends, each sacrifice was truly worth it. This event is KALIPAY’s heartfelt gift to Negros and we are proud to say that each ingredient that made the paella was sourced from the region. Our little way to honor the island that inspires and supports our mission.
To everyone who joined us, contributed, or cheered us on, madamo gid nga salamat! Your support means the world to us and our children. Together, we proved that even the impossible is achievable when done with love.
Here’s to more milestones for our KALIPAY children and our Negros community. See you all next time!
