I’m legally blind and the color of the objects in Blender against the background has been a massive barrier to learning the program for me. I’ve been on my ‘first’ project for 2&1/2 years! So many people told me that what I was wanting to do wasn’t possible but I guess I just wasn’t asking right. I’m so glad I found this-thank you SO much!

@jasond.b-w The following may help you better visualise the various faces. Click on the dropdown menu (downward facing arrow) in the upper right corner and activate Cavity. Increase the values for Ridge and Valley.

@@MichaelBullo I have an armature (an avatar placed into Blender from Plask). I have left the sphere (which colour I changed) as the background. But when I changed the sphere background colour, it changed the colour of my armature too. I am just unsure how to keep the sphere my new colour and how to keep the armature a different colour. The armature is in front of the sphere.
@@nm9746 It sounds like you have the same material applied to both the sphere and the avatar. I suggest you spend a little time learning the basics of how to create and apply materials. You can then easily apply different ones to your different objects. Good luck :)
Any way to reduce a color palette to 256 colors? Kind of like a decimate for colors ? I have a character model I'm importing into another application that requires no more than 256 colors.

@@insertinterestingname688 If you were using Cycles I was going to suggest increasing the Sampling. However, with Eevee I'm not so sure. This gets tricky here in the UA-cam comments. Thank you. I just downloaded blender yesterday and have started putting together the kitchen my wife designed. Couldn't work out how to colour the cabinets. This helps significantly but I want to be able to ad a wood grain floor. Do I need a plugin for this or does blender have a library of assets. Thanks in advance

@@SGames69 I just ran an export from Blender as an OBJ, imported that into a new Blender file and the color made it all the way through. When you export your OBJ have you made sure there is a tick next to Export in the Materials section?
The colouring has nothing to do with blender, if you try to export it to roblox studio using obj or fbx, yeah roblox studio doesn't allowed fully supported it, so yeah. Maybe any ideas of colouring? (texture painting, vertex painting?)
I have a problem. So I have downloaded a few human models off a model store online but I can only color in the hands and not the rest of the body. They have a mesh on, does that interfere with the colors? The method in this video didn't work so how would I be able to color the rest of the body in?
So i tried to make a cube with a smaller cube cut and save for use in Ae. When I import it to ae..half of the cut is missing. is there anyway to fix this?

@@MichaelBullo Yes, it is the same material as all else, and when it is changed, it remained the same. But I imported it via GLTF an hour later and it did not have the issue and I was able to continue working with it. By the way, when I initially imported it, it was via OBJ so I honestly don’t know what happened there… I don’t know how to report the error to Blender as I’m still quite new at this. @@MichaelBullo Yes the wire edges are black in the first shading option but I want them a bright colour because the viewport background is black. Or change the viewport background colour. In Max you can change the viewport background colour I don t see it in Blender

Are you seeing this pixelation when you render? Which Render Engine are you using? Eevee or Cycles?

Try starting from scratch with a new document and see if you can change the color.

Are you able to successfully render an image in Blender? What are you exporting out from Blender? When you say AE, do you mean After Effects?

You say you are seeing 3 buttons when you should be seeing 4. Are you in the right section? Are you clicking on the correct set of buttons?
Whenever I select the base color for a wall for An example noticing happens it just stays blank

Are you duplicating objects? As a starting point, try adding a new object and confirm that you can independently change the color of objects.
default the outline colour of a not selected object is black. That is difficult to see on the grid. how can I change it to a more brighter colour?
What Viewport Shading mode are you using? These are the 4 buttons in the upper right corner of the main window.

Why is my cube translarent when i click the last two circles in the upper right corner
What kind of material do you have applied to the object? Do you have any lights in your scene?

@@_blinkl6256 There could be one of many things going on. Try creating a new file and following the video with the default scene.

every time i open the material properties tab at all, blender crashes and i have to reopen it. there are no videos out there explaining how to fix this, so im wondering if you know??

@@bingleshmire Perhaps the issue is with one specific version of Blender. You could try downloading an earlier version and see if that works.
