When I saw his performance on youtube.It sounded and looked good..He did a good job..he always does..As a dj I understand the importance of sound...And being Jay I can understand why he wants everything to be perfect..I mean come on you have to give it 110 percent out there...Jay thanks for all you do in the tejano business. .
As a professional drummer for over 40 years, I can tell you Jay has every right to be upset if the sound is terrible. It's his reputation up on that stage, not the guy running sound. If the musicians cannot hear each other, THAT'S A PROBLEM! If it sounds like crap, THAT"S A PROBLEM. If a sound person doesn't know every piece of their equipment or how to run it or remedy when there is a situation, they need to find another line of work. Just because you have great sound equipment, doesn't mean you know how to run sound. Jay was in KC May 3, 2024 for a Cinco de Mayo festival. The sound was absolutely terrible. There was some issues with feedback on almost every single song.....almost every single song. There was feedback in the mids and the highs. I can tell you front of house didn't sound much better. The kick sounded like it was under water, the toms were almost non-existed and not a great balance overall. The musicians couldn't hear things they way they should have on stage either. His wife had to cover hear ear when she sang so she could hear herself and he did at times too. Do you know how frustrating that is as a musician? Whether you are playing for 15 minutes or 90 minutes, it's frustrating and painful to have to deal with. BUT, Jay put on a incredible show and worked his way through it like it was the best show ever. I would imagine it had to be in his top 5 least favorite sounding shows. Hopefully the next time he comes to KC, he'll work with a different sound company. So, unless you are a musician, you really how no business commenting.

Sound Board Engineers have to train their Ears and Perfect their Skills just Jay had to put in the Years to Perfect his Voice . In Arizona I have seen it happened to Jay all the way up Luis Miguel and I blame it on the Sound Crew
Anyone talking shit about this has never stepped on a stage and known the frustration of bad sound. EVRYONE is getting paid to do their job, and they’re not holding up their end. Plain in simple, do your job. By the way, he didn’t even do anything wrong.

You know better than anyone who you have and if you’re at the events I’m sure you too have witnessed some unnecessary attitude, unless you’re saying you condone. I been to a recent Jay show in Cedar Park, and while he wasn’t the sweetest dude ever, he hung out and took pics after playing a FULL set at that club. Jay is a legend and deserves all he credit we can give him. He sing like that dude from Breaking Benjamin 😂. But Breaking Benjamin does jam.
It happens. Won't be the last. His concert in Milwaukee sounded horrible. Sounds, tones and notes vary stage to stage. Things aren't always 100%. His voice makes up for it! 😎🎼🎤🎶🎷🎸🎧❤
The show must go on …. One time the power went out …. Just me / drums and horns … Las nubes !!! Power came on after about 20 bars ! The crowd went crazy when the power came on again !!!! The show must go on !!!
That’s live sound either have your shit together or get another job especially when putting on a show at this level there is no excuse. Live sound engineers isn’t for the faint of heart and if an amateur well your gonna piss off the headliners wether it be Jay or anybody else
