Day trip to Madinah I المدينة المنورة

We took a Saptco Coach which was opposite our Hotel the 5-star Al Shohadaa Hotel in Ajyad Street Makkah; you can view the location on Google maps here goo.gl/maps/HU....
The Saptco VIP Coach station is on the opposite side of the road and can be found here goo.gl/maps/XM.... We booked the day before and booked a return ticket for 205SAR per person (approximately £43). The coach was scheduled to leave Makkah at 9:00am and scheduled to reach Madinah by 1:57pm, non-stop. They provide a packed snack box and also one session of tea and coffee; there is a toilet on board for passengers to use. The coach was timely and left exactly on time and got to its destination on time too. It dropped us off at the top end of Masjid Nabawi next to the Crowne Plaza Hotel, the location of the drop of point can be found here goo.gl/maps/j8.... We took the return journey from the same bus stop at 9:00pm that night and arrived at Makkah at 2:00am.
Whilst in Madinah, we did think of getting onto a hop-on-hop-off bus, but they charge 20 SAR (£4.20) for a child, 80 SAR (£17) for adults and 200 SAR (£42.55) for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) for a two hour trip (prices correct as at April 2020). But we only want to visit Masjid Quba as the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “He who purifies himself at his home and comes to Masjid Quba and offers two rakats therein, will be rewarded the reward of an Umrah (lesser pilgrimage).” [Sunan ibn Majah]. So, we discovered a new shuttle bus that goes back and forth to Masjid Quba for 10 SAR per person (£2.12) return and runs every 20 minutes. The location on these green shuttle buses can be found in the Clock Roundabout as you exit the main King Fahd gate from Masjid Nabawi, the location can be found here goo.gl/maps/wX.... The journey is about 10-15 minutes and the buses are very clean and even has USB charging points should you need to charge your devices.
Upon returning, we had done a bit of shopping especially for dates from Taibah Shopping centre. I have to mention that as a visitor to Madinah, you do not want to wander around with shopping bags and be careful as the guards will not allow you into the masjid with shopping bags and you will have to pray outside. There are green safe boxes located in the courtyard of the masjid but these vary in sizes and they charge by the hour. Alternatively, you can approach the smaller hotels around the masjid and ask reception if they would not mind caring for your bags until you return which is what we had done.
