Very helpful video. Don't forget the window gutter assembly will need to be removed first in order to get the beauty cover off.
Nice video regarding a sensor that few people know about and benefits from cleaning. All I have to add is that to remove the harness clip. You only need to push in the wire. Also, it’s easier to pull it out with the end of a pick and pull up rather than trying to pull on the sensor.
Nice video. I'm getting ready to mine with the same issue. This video will definitely help me. thanks 😊
Thanks alot I own a 2001 BMW 330i m54 engine I found mines exactly we're yours is at
I have 2 question 1. did u clean it and replace the seal 2.if u don't have code for this but it had vacuum leak at this place then fuel trim would have problems (yes or no)
Hi Curtis,
I have 2003 BMW 325i and I got P0111 error, is this the sensor you are talking about here? and what is the location of that sensor in my model?
Thanks
Thank you for your video...Here is another tip BMW owners can try first Before replacing The IAT sensor. Take out the IAT sensor And spray clean with mass airflow cleaner. This worked for me. I have an 02 E46 330 with 170k miles. I was averaging 24 mpg on the freeway plus My engine light is on but have no error codes. I found this video and I thought I should replace my IAT but I am going to try cleaning it first and if i ruin the sensor It’s time for a new one anyways. After cleaning and put it back my engine light went away and to my surprise I am getting 27mph on the freeway. Hope this helps.
P1112 is not related to IAT. it’s not the cause. I google search it and it seems to be related to the auxiliary fan sensor that’s plug onto the lower radiator hose. Check the connector and wires. Also plz Do your research as I also don’t know much..good luck
Thank you for your video. Very Helpful.
Hi Curtis!
What temps did you get with the old sensor, and what temps do you see with the new one?
Cheers
Patrik, it has been a while... If I remember correctly, it was giving a faulty reading like negative degrees or something like that. It has also been a while since I plugged in the code reader and monitored running temps- but I do know I was satisfied that the repair was worthwhile.
where is the intake air temperature sensor of the 318i e36? I can not find! help me please!
I have a 05 325i m54 and mine has the opening for that yet there’s no connector near it and it seems to be plugged any help?
IF THE PIECE ON THE INTAKE MANIFOLD WHERE THE INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR(STARTS FROM) IS BROKEN FROM THE INSIDE, DOES IT MEAN I HAVE TO BUY A NEW INTAKE MANIFOLD??
Trying to find where the air temp sensor is on my damn 06 325i E90...
I'm surprised the clip on the connector wasn't like most other BMW connectors, where you push the metal clip towards the body of the plug instead of prying it away.
Seems like there are several like this one with the spring clip deal.
You can just push the clip in with your thumb. No need to pull it out. Both ways seem to work though.
I have an 02 530i and I pushed the metal clip in to release the connector.
Great video but at 4:25 was the sensor really that easy to remove ? if it came out that easy then it would not have been sealing correctly. I understand that it should be very tightly sealed with the o-ring. At 6:25 you didnt even show the sensor being plugged into the intake hole, you just connected the electrical connector. The video would of been much more indepth if you had shown the missing bits from your video. I guess it is not so easy to remove and re-fit then without some force ?
Just push in the spring next time much easier
Hello, I got a mixture too rich on both O2 probes, I will change this temperature sensor, I hope it is going to do the trick...
@@thinkingagain5966 well I didn't do it, I filled the tank with the best Gaz from Total and then the error went off
hi curtis I have a 2005 330i with sport package. i for the life of me cant find the sensor or the wires to it. i have looked for 2 hours now. i am not usually stumped but this has got me. any suggestions thanks for any help
I have a 2001 330ci coupe would it be on the same location? Im trying to install a performance chip and its telling me to look for the intake air temperature. Pls help tnx
Usually the intake air temperature sensor is in the intake manifold or maybe in the duct work after the intake air filter.
Usually that temperature sensor is connected to the computer with wires.
So, yes, for the most part, the sensor will be in the same or similar location.
I have no comment on performance chips or how the one you have might hook up to your car.
You need to push and not to pop out the clip from sensor
Thanks. Now I know how to do it.
Merci je vais pouvoir finir mon travail
Thank you
10mm 👍

I wish it was that simple for me, mine pretty much melted!
