    I love everything you’ve said and totally agree! I’m on week 2 and I can’t believe more people aren’t talking about what this does for self esteem. I’m so grateful for the weight loss aspect but, I don’t hate myself anymore. That sounds sad but it’s so true. My brain isn’t beating me down for being weak or whatever. I’ve been battling weight for 33 years and for the first time I feel tremendous hope. It’s a miracle drug. 😊

      I'm so happy you feel that way now! It truly does so much more than just weight loss. It absolutely has improved my confidence and outlook as well. It a shame that so many people dismiss these medications and lots more don't even consider them because they've been scared off and becasue of the stigma. I really am happy for you and you're going to do great with it. Just make sure you're prioritizing protein. Its essential! so happy you stopped in to say hello!

    I got so emotional watching this! I can 100% relate to the stigma of this medication. I’m so happy that you had a provider you trusted enough to give the medication a try. It definitely is life changing! I also spent the majority of my life very thin, even with a binge eating disorder. Congratulations on losing 10 lbs in 4 weeks! You’re doing an incredible job! There are less than a handful of channels on this topic that I enjoy and I absolutely LOVE watching your content! ❤

      Wow, thank you for the kind words. 💕It means a lot, really does. As you know it’s not easy putting yourself out there, but having a community of women going through the same thing has been AMAZING and made this journey so much better. 💕💕 Did you say in one of your videos that you’re a veteran? I feel like I remember you saying that. I’m wondering if you think that helped keep the weight gain in check even though you binged. I totally did the binging and restriction cycle for years too. It does so much damage to our metabolism, but we’re on the right track now. And that’s what matters. Especially you! You’re doing great with your nutrition! 😎💪🏽💕

    I think it’s so important too to understand the long term effects on health of being obese or even just overweight. People don’t like to really think about the serious health consequences of carrying extra weight, and weirdly doctors don’t really spell it out- they just tell you to watch it but don’t tell you WHY. There is so much shame around this issue. If you need help, of course consider possible side effects, but measure them against the results of staying overweight or continuing to gain weight. So happy for your success!

    • @2.0mommy

      Hi! You’re so right. And like you said, you have to consider the risk/benefit. So many are afraid of trying this medication or even shame others for trying because of all the negative things they’ve heard, but yet staying obese is a sure fire way of ending up sick. Thank you for your support, I appreciate it. Are you on this medication as well?

    Thank you for this post. I’ve battled my weight my whole life. In my late 20’s I lost a lot of weight and after kids gained a lot back. Now at 46 and in menopause I feel the exact same way you were…. been slowly gaining weight and nothing I’m doing is helping. I’ve increased my walking changing food etc. I took my first dose of zepbound yesterday! I’m excited about this new journey.

    • @2.0mommy
      @2.0mommy  4 місяці тому

      Hi! So excited for you!!! How do you feel today? Hopefully not too bad. 🙏🏽💕 And menopause is no joke. I’m 43 so right behind you! It’s great that you you already started implementing better choices. You’ll see once the medication really kicks in that it makes it easier to make those choices. If you told me 3 months ago the ago that I would be walking 3 miles a day and be able to skip McDonald’s without it being a battle of the will, I wouldn’t have believed you. I still do eat McDonald’s very occasionally, but I’m able to offset that by making better choices for the rest of the day. Before, I would eat the McDonald’s and STILL eat joke the at home. If you watch any of my earlier videos I talk about how amazing the appetite suppression is, but how I felt that I could override it if I wanted to. That’s one thing to keep in mind. If you’re aware of that going in, you won’t feel disappointed that you still have an appetite and not feel like it’s not working. A lot of people move up in dose way too quick. Just something to keep in mind. So happy for you!! 🙏🏽💕💕

GLP1 is a hormone and obviously menopause messes with all our hormones so I really think you’ll have success with it. Especially if you’re already doing all the healthy things that you mentioned. Another thing I’d like to suggest is watching the video that Mel Robbins did with top menopause doctor and there was so much good information there. I was thinking about it over the weekend actually and I probably get closer to 1500 calories most days. The way I try to break it up is about 300 calories for breakfast, 300 for lunch, 600 for dinner and that leaves me with about 400 for 2 snacks (200ish each) That’s kinda my method. I do measure some things out and keep a mental note, but I don’t actually keep a log. I probably should though! I have a couple of meal prep videos (I do one every Monday-so posting one later! ) and I keep it really simple and easy, if you’re interested in seeing what I’m eating. 😊 So excited for you though! Because a thought is not waiting till you finish those and just going up now. Then you can save those pens for when you’re affected by the shortage. If you’re doing compound then those pens still won’t go to waste because you can just double up on the shot to equal a 10 when you get there. Hi! I definitely don’t skip meals. I aim for 1600 calories a day. Sometimes I eat less than that, but my goal is 1600. I don’t want to lose too quickly. So you mentioned that your weigh is up and down. That could just be inflammation and it true fat. It’s normal for your weight to fluctuate a few pounds up or down. If you feel you have your nutrition dialed in, don’t think you need to get more movement into your day. That would definitely help rev up your metabolism. It doesn’t have to be high intensity cardio! I’m beyond that kind of thing, just don’t have the energy for it. But you can do walking and keep your heart rate in the zone 2 range. That heart rate zone burns more fat as a percentage rage than high intensity cardio does! I did a video on it, but it’s easy to determine your zone 2 by doing the “talk test.” Basically if you’re walking so slow that a toddler can easily keep up, you’re walking to slow. If you’re walking so fast that you can’t speak in complete sentences, you’re walking too fast. Zone 2 would be being able to talk on the phone, but the other person would be able to tell you were a little out of breath. Also, if you haven’t started lifting weights, that would probably help a lot! Muscle burns fat! Preaching to myself as I haven’t started that either. 😬😅 It’s super important though. Oh almost forgot, I don’t avoid any foods other greasy fried food. I still eat carbs but try not to have too many and focus on protein. My main source of protons chicken and I drink one or two glasses of protein powder. The protein helps keep you full so you’re less likely to eat junk. I have a meal prep playlist where I show exactly what I’m eating. I do it every Monday, and actually I need to film that today so it’s ready to post on Monday. Hope that helps! 🙏🏽💕💕

    That’s an awesome idea! I didn’t think of that 😃. I’m doing the compound because I have to pay out of pocket. I found one that doesn’t use the salts and is supposed to be closer to the Zepbound. I hope the compound is good and that it isn’t the reason my weight loss is slow. I’m still thinking about food way too much and in the evening I eat too much, lol I’m hoping it’s just a dose issue. I have 15 left so I may have my husband give me 7.5 the next 2 shots! I wanted to ask you Jill. Do you follow a certain diet? Or calories? If you already exiled, I’m sorry. I’m still catching up on your videos. 😊. Have a Blessed Day 💜

      It's probably a dosing issue, how long have you been on it? I know that sadly some people don't ever get the food noise reduction, but youre still on a low dose so I dont think thats the case with you! As for a diet, I don't follow a specific plan but I try to stick to about 1,600 calories and I try to have my carbs earlier in the day as opposed to dinner. I still eat carbs at dinner,but I try to keep them lower. So breakfast is usually a protein shake made with milk so thats 270 calories. Lunch is usually avacado toast with cottage cheese and thats just about 400 calories. Then I usually eat two snacks before dinner (we eat dinner REALLY late- like 9pm) Each snack is about 200 calories. And finally dinner which I allow about 600 calories. So total comes to around 1600, sometimes a little more. If I know that i'm just having a chicken salad for dinner then I'll allow myself a bigger lunch or an extra snack. But these are just estimated calories as I don't measure out everything like i should! Hope that helps, sorry its so long!! lol

      @@2.0mommythank you for giving me all the information. It helps. I think maybe I’m not eating enough. I eat between 800 to 1000 calories a day. You eat more and are losing faster. It’s something for me to think about. I’ll try to eat more next week and see if that helps 😃. I’ve been on the shots for 7 weeks. Tonight I am giving myself the 7.5 like we discussed earlier. How do you make avocado toast? lol. I’m behind the times

      @@Robyn-Bell Sorry I missed this! Ok now for my rant( in a loving way😉): Robyn!!! That’s way too little calories! No wonder you’re dealing with food cravings. Girl you gotta eat way more than that. Youre in starvation mode and your body has slowed your metabolism way down so you don’t burn as much calories. It’s trying to conserve as much energy as possible. If that’s all you’re eating AND you’re burning calories with all the walking you do, your body is definitely in starvation mode. Plus, it’ll also take calories from your muscles in order to function but you need your muscles to burn fat. Please, please please try to eat more. You have to do it slow though. Add an extra 200-300 calories a day for a week or two. Then add in another 2-300 until you’re at a good calorie deficit. How tall are you? I can help you figure out how many calories you should be eating for weight loss. You might gain some weight while things regulate themselves, but once your body figures out you’re not in danger, it’ll burn fat since it realizes it doesn’t need it for survival. You might find if you increase your calories that you could probably stay on 5mg. Definitely let me know how tall you are!
      Avacado toast is just taking some avocado and spreading over toast! Sprinkle with a little salt, pepper and garlic powder if you prefer. People make it a lot of ways, just depends how you like it. Sometimes I spread cottage cheese on the toast , then cut up the avocado and put that on top. If you go to my shorts tab, I have a short showing how I make it. It’s super easy! If you like avocado, that would be a great thing to add in to your day. It’s got good healthy fats that your body needs. 😊💕🙏🏽

    can I ask …are you having your insurance cover this at all? Are you using a coupon? Great job and nice video! 😊

    • @2.0mommy
      @2.0mommy  4 місяці тому +4

      Yes my insurance pays and I only pay $30 a month, which I know is an absolute blessing. I couldn’t afford it otherwise. If your insurance doesn’t cover it, you could try if they’d cover wegovy. Or if you’re diabetic, ozempic or mounjaro. Mounjaro is actually the same exact thing as Zepbound. It just has a different FDA approval, which is for diabetics. But it’s the exact same thing as Zepbound. Also, I think insurance companies will catch on soon, that’s it’s cheaper to pay for this medication than it is to pay for all the medical expenses that come with being overweight. So don’t lose hope!

    • @NE_11111
      @NE_11111 4 місяці тому

      wow, that is really amazing. They are covering a weight loss drug. I have heard of insurance companies covering Mounjaro for diabetics but very few covering zepbound… you’re very fortunate. I’m very happy for you for that and you have a great Dr! Thank you! 😊. Looking forward to your updates.

    I have a very similar experience and can totally relate to everything you said. Congrats on your loss and getting to a good place. I recently just "restarted" because of the shortage after 4 weeks without. I decided to wait it out like you and not stress but I did want to mention that hunger pains came back with a vengeance so my only advice would be to prepare for this while you are waiting for your order. Stock plenty of healthy foods. It was hard and I did gain 4 lbs back but that's ok. I'm just blessed my insurance covers the cost so I'm good! Thanks for posting your journey! 😊

      Hi! That’s actually really good advice! I was stretching my pens out to 10-11 days for the part 3 weeks and I felt like I could feel a difference. Thankfully I got my script filled on Friday so I’m back in business 😂 Also, 4 pounds isn’t bad considering you were without for so long! Did you have to start over with your dose after being off it for so long? That’s rough. Thanks for sharing that advice , I hope it helps someone out! And thanks for dropping in and saying hi! Hope to “see” you around! ☺️💕🙏🏽
