Nice West... I don't care who a guy is or haw many he has crawled onto for a first ride, those first few are always a bit of an UNKNOWN...I like how ya send him out, bring him down and bend him to a stop and love on him..I am not a firm believer that we HAVE to Walk, Trot and LOPE the first ride.. If they are ready and feel okay?? Yes.. If not? Why!?? Hell, just tell Ol Pup to nip his heels and get him rolling!

Thanks Gerry! I agree, if it feels right go for what ever you can on the first ride! I felt like a smooth easy safe and calm first ride is what Geronimo needed! His typical response when he gets overloaded is "head up brain off" so I was more than pleased to FEEL him stay soft and stay with me😁👊🏻 I put the second ride on him the next day and we did walk trot cantor without any issues😇👊🏻

@@OutlawRides Roger that Brother! I've put a couple of quiet rides on my going 2yo and when it warms up will start in again. A little walk to trot, too to walk transitions is fine for now, then next we'll trot to lope, lope to trot & walk... I have high hopes they will come along to become my good riding horses... Keep sharing the good stuff!
