Found it odd that the interviewer was trying to subtly hint that Gujarat growth model is all smoke & mirrors. While no state or Country in the world is corruption free, I am fairly certain that Gujarat has done better than most states in India by many key economic performance indicators(GDP, literacy etc), and hence using that as a model for governance is very valid. I do think Hardik Patel is trying to "Bell the Cat" or try to solve a very 21st century problem for his caste which can be generalized other non OBC castes as well. I do hope he gets it right and the problem is solved for people of poor economic background irrespective of castes.

Caste Reservation is the biggest bane of Modern India!!
Reservation is necessary for giving a fair platform and equality to all men in the society with unequal distribution of resources but should it be given to someone based on their birth (caste)??? Caste Reservation of all kind should be done away with, and new reservation based on Economical Weaker Background should be implemented for a fair society.
But then again, life isn't fair and there is not a single politician in the parliament with the spine to put this topic forward as every politician has their caste affiliations and nobody wants to mess with their vote-banks!!
Hell! 1/3 of the ministers are elected from a reserved electorate and it takes a simple majority to pass a bill or to dissolve a government!! God Save India!!

Found it odd that the interviewer was trying to subtly hint that Gujarat growth model is all smoke & mirrors. While no state or Country in the world is corruption free, I am fairly certain that Gujarat has done better than most states in India by many key economic performance indicators(GDP, literacy etc), and hence using that as a model for governance is very valid. I do think Hardik Patel is trying to "Bell the Cat" or try to solve a very 21st century problem for his caste which can be generalized other non OBC castes as well. I do hope he gets it right and the problem is solved for people of poor economic background irrespective of castes.
Patel are hardworking people and don't need any reservation. We sure face difficulties, but that has rather made us more stronger. I am for removing reservation. My family was poor, but within 15-20 years we are middle class through sheer hardwork. My whole village have brick house, except some people of SC/ST caste, The reservation have made SC/ST more lazy.
