Returned the Regal 250int a few months back. Think I went too big for my 210. And just ordered the Regal 200int at a smoking price from you guys. That and was able to pick up two Octopulse 4’s at the same time at a greatly discounted price!!! Saved me about 263.00 total on the whole purchase. Man I love BlackFriday sales! Perfect timing for a sale and a great video!!! Thanks guys🙂‼️
@@queencityreefs When I did the actual internal measurements on the tank, I’m actually looking at about 190 gallons. And then you add in rock displacement, substrate displacement, etc... Even though I’ll be running a 50 gallon sump, I can’t really account for that. I’ll only be running a sump level of 7-8inches. And that roughly about 20 gallons. I also only feed once a day. And after reading a bit on forums, it seems the 200 would be a better fit for my particular situation. They have it rated at 175 gallons for a heavy bioload and 250 gallons for a medium bioload. I figured I would be in the medium range. So that’s why I returned the 250. Id rather go a little undersized than oversized. I hope I made the right choice!!!😃
You forgot to mention one important advantage of the V10 port if connected through Apex you can control the skimmer pump over the internet while you are away from home
So did I pick the right size skimmer? I just ordered tonight at the LFS the Octopus Elite 150INT Protein Skimmer for a Red Sea Reefer XL525 which is has a total volume of 139 gallons between display and sump.

These Reef OCTO skimmers have a ton of cool features but even their space saver foot prints are HUGE.
Thank you for the great video!

Ultimately, it'll depend on the bioload in your tank, but for the average XL 525, I think you made the right choice 🙂
