I really can’t pick a bias! When I first found XG, it was Harvey, then Juria, then Chisa, then, Jurin, now I am loving Maya. They are each so talented and beautiful.
XG (Xtraordinary Girls) is a 7 member *Global Hip hop and R&B group* , that's why they sing in English and their music is heavily influenced by Western (mainly American) music. They have 4 rappers, 2 main vocals and 1 vocalist. Their company is XGALX a subsidiary of AVEX, the Japanese company that trained them. All the members are Japanese and they're currently working from south korea, but their producer has said that they're not J-pop or kpop. They only have 4 songs: Tippy Toes (debut), Mascara, Shooting Star and Left Right (There's no MV but they uploaded a Live Stage on their UA-cam channel), but they have a lot of content on their channel like dance (MOVE), vocal (VOX) and rap (TAPE) performances.
XG are literally all that. They are talented, and they put in the work. They debuted last March with “Tippy Toes”. They are the complete package. Rap. Vocals. And they dance like a dance crew.

Also 5 of the members are full Japanese and 2 are mixed. Harvey is the girl you said stood out to you, she’s half Australian and Japanese and the other girl Hinata is half Korean and Japanese. Since they basically formed a girl group in Korea who are all Japanese their songs are in English.

Also, they didn't train for 5 years in korea, they first trained at Avex Artist Academy (in Tokyo, Japan) and moved the last few years to korea before their debut. Shooting Star's composers and lyricists are mainly American, the rest are from other Western countries and Japan, the same goes for the song's arrangement They have also referred to themselves as X-pop, which stands for XG-POP.
XG is Japanese they have NOTHING to do with Korea. Hinata doesn't care about Korea she is culturally Japanese born and raised. They didn't "formed a girl group in Korea". CEO has spoken about this, they are using kpop as a stepping stone which is fair considering Korea stole it's whole industry. AVEX isn't spending that much like giant kpop corporations, it's all about skill and talent.
