I find your art creations very beautiful. This project will be fun to try. I have a strong desire to create flowers. Also, I like to work with making birds. Humm, idea's are coming to me. Thank you❤
Ah, Tracey! Thank you so much. I've been waiting for this! I don't have quite the collection of silk stuff that you do, but I'm going to pull out my cocoons, sari silk threads, sari silk bits and my throwsters waste so I can play along. I'm excited!!
Lovely, Tracey!! Where do you get all your creative ideas?! Amazing! Would you be up for creating a video on how you store/organize all your myriad of fabrics, threads, bits, bobs, etc? (Jill)
I have a shattered silk dress from my Mom. I tried seeing if I could take some pieces & resin them to make things. But I suddenly wondered if I could take the crumbling silk & make paper. I ran across your video. I wonder if I use the shattered silk would the paper continue to dissolve? I wonder if I add a small amount of glue?! What are your thoughts on this? Thank you!!
Silk paper is just the name it is given, no paper involved! 😀. I do use PVA glue and water to laminate different silk fibers but also scraps of fabric, flowers, lace etc. Have a go.
Hi Tracey, I am new to your channel and I have enjoyed watching your videos. I was especially interested when I saw this one combining fabric/fibers & paper. I have inherited a 16 ounce bag of natural mohair fiber from my mother and have no idea what to do with it. Is it possible to dye it and use it the way you have used the silk fibers? Thank you if you have time to answer this. Jackie
Welcome! I think you should definitely have a go! Experimenting is key to all creativity. I have used it along with silk, and fabric. You can also use some in your needle felt art projects.
Thank you so much for this great tutorial. I'm an abstract painter and I'd like to begin using silk fibers in my mixed media work.
Excellent! They have a special look all on there own, and will be great in mixed media.
Wow…thank you for introducing me to a new fibre (new to me) to use!
I really think you would really like it! Give it a go! ❤️
Such beautiful flowers! Thank you for sharing.
So nice of you, thanks for watching 🙏
Very pretty!
