Thank you so much for doing these videos. No one in my family has medical experience. We've taken first aid classes and are going to take more, but your videos are a big help in the mean time.
I have never used it personally but I from what I have read and talked with others it works great! I am working on information to put together a video on just this subject!
Remember when you said your pouch was too expensive, well these videos are why I have purchased all my med supplies through you. Great job and thanks again.
Good video, I carry both israeli bandages, a CAT Tourniquet, and Quik Clot. Have you ever tried Celox? I hear it works very well, and is available in powder form, as well as gauze
Hey Bro Thanks for the follow up video on quick clot. I am the guy that asked you about it the other night on the show. hope they have you back on that show soon I learned allot .
We still get issued Quickclot with our IFAK in the Marines with H-bandages and TK-4 tourniquets. Which branch is moving away from it? I've never had to use the stuff, thank God.
Thanks for taking the time to do this. Is it available in any pharmacy? Like a London Drugs for instance or do I have to get them through a medical supply place? Peace.
you do not get the Love You Should! ALL!! Americans should have to watch EVERYONE! of your Videos! at least twice! God Love You and God Bless You for Sharing!! Thank You!
DIC occurs because the body runs out of platelets and clotting factors. It has nothing to do with 'clotting.' Death caused by DIC is caused by hemorrhage, not clotting, it's sort of a misnomer. Further, the QC only causes very localized hemoconcentration, so the concern over thromboembolic disease is limited at best.
How would the ER or surgical unit clean out a wound with the granuals in it before going into surgery? Does surgical staff prefer the clot bandage or granuals? Just curious...
thanks for the information. I just saw the bourne identity. Is it true that type of medical treatment that he applied to himself? Thanks. Please advise.
By pressure dressing, do you mean emergency trauma dressing (ETD) - abdominal/stump? Also thank you for responding to my questions. I don't have any medical experience and training is not provided in my area. You make great videos they do really help.
This is not a concern with the sponge or gauze forms. With the granules, the idea it could clot somewhere throughout the blood stream was floated but there are no documented cases of such. Also, the US military is NOT moving away from hemostatic agents, and your idea of QC vs tourniquet display an erroneous understanding of how it's used. The tourniquet is still applied as it is still most effective in occluding blood flow. The QC is applied afterwards if significant bleeding still presents.
Thank you for the video I heard about the importance of quick clot just was hoping if the emergency happened it wouldn't be hard to figure out how to use it but now I know! THANK YOU
Skinnymedic awesome and thank you for answering. And what is a good website to found out where a trauma class would be held. Because i need some more training on trauma and I'm just wondering where do you live i live in georgia and would love to meet you some day.
+Dalton Pace thats what it is designed to do, it was made specifically for military wounds like gunshots and shrapnel and has showed success in the battlefeild
I have another question they come with expiration dates I should be able to replace it by the date however there is a chance I won't have the money or I could forget about the date in that case will quick clot ever go bad?
well, the sponge is a sponge. But the gauze is gauze lol. So probably should clarify on that one as the gauze is able to be physically packed into the wound better than the sponge. much better. Sponges have their purpose as well though, i have several of both types. Very handy
Great video, thanks for the info. I wanted to include Quick clot for my first aid kit, unfortunately the Australian Medical Association, (AMA) hasn't approved it's use,...yet. That's probably why Chemists don't stock it in Australia. Interesting to note the ADF (Australian Defence Force) medical as also discouraged it's use.
Skinny medic i am writing a paper about quickclot and i am wondering what is the science behind it for the clotting process. And can you tell me some stories of people using this and how it has saved lives because I am going to include that in my paper.
Isn't quickclot toxic? If i recall it can cause blood poisoning if not treated after use? See alot of preppers use this stuff in there med kits and im just here thinking all its doing is postponing death for a few days endless they get put on some dialysis. Was that changed with the new formula? Thanks!!
+Austin Brown (Lunar) the new formula uses a chemical called Kaloinite, a chemical derived from clay called kaolin or china clay it is a in-organic mineral that is hypoallergenic and is practically inert, and while in dust form like any dust if inhaled has a risk it does not in the combat gause unless debris is packed in with it, usually removed during surgery, its meant to stop severe bleeding so that a surgeon can take it out and fix the wound
Great video Skinny. I just subbed. Sent over from Maine Prepper. I am in the process of putting an IFAK together. Any help would be appreciated. Stay Ready! Anthony.
hey man somethin happens i'll bring my group we wont harm your family in fact i'm trying to find preppers from all around cuz I don't want to kill any of my fellow preppers.
In addition, the use of a pressure bandage is still indicated. The QC is packed into the wound, with a pressure bandage over top. A tourniquet, QC and pressure bandage are all to be used if needed. it's not a 1 vs the other situation. Training, training, training. Lots of misinformation here.
Yeah, trained EMS have no clue how to pack wounds. They don't ever do it!........ lol there is nothing to it. Just pack the shit in, how hard is that to figure out lol
Thank you so much for doing these videos. No one in my family has medical experience. We've taken first aid classes and are going to take more, but your videos are a big help in the mean time.

What do you like better quick clot or celox?
It is funny comparting the quality of previous videos to current ones. Also interesting how the equipment and the uses of it have changed in time.
Remember when you said your pouch was too expensive, well these videos are why I have purchased all my med supplies through you. Great job and thanks again.
Thank you for the support!
Thanks for the vids bro. I never knew that Quik Clot had a shelf life. That could get really expensive rotating in and out of storage!!
They say 3 years, I am not sure how long it is actually good for. I am sure it is good past the 3 year mark but I have nothing to prove that.
Good video, I carry both israeli bandages, a CAT Tourniquet, and Quik Clot. Have you ever tried Celox? I hear it works very well, and is available in powder form, as well as gauze
If you are in the US you can visit my site for the 25g sponge.
I do not get demo products.
I have not tried Celox, I need to get some to play with it.
@Barry Mac Monegle yes you could
If you had an entrance and exit wound.... should you cut the sponge in half and apply to both?
What was the point of the water at the end of video?
when stuffing a bullet wound ,is it better to use a gloved finger or a plastic or steel rod to push the quik clot gauze inside?
Hey Bro Thanks for the follow up video on quick clot. I am the guy that asked you about it the other night on the show. hope they have you back on that show soon I learned allot .
Pack the wound, once you get bleeding controlled the QC can be cleaned out.
We still get issued Quickclot with our IFAK in the Marines with H-bandages and TK-4 tourniquets. Which branch is moving away from it? I've never had to use the stuff, thank God.
A friend told me about Cayenne Pepper just recently. I can't wait to see what you have on the subject. I'll be looking forward for you video on that.
Thanks for taking the time to do this. Is it available in any pharmacy? Like a London Drugs for instance or do I have to get them through a medical supply place? Peace.
quick clot works great on my paper cuts.
so quick clot is basically sterile kitty litter for blood?
I sell the 25g on my site for $14
Thanks for the quick brief. Could you do more of these types of videos? Like patching up, treating burns, cuts etc.
The newer stuff sounds much nicer! What the expiration period look like?
you do not get the Love You Should!
ALL!! Americans should have to watch EVERYONE! of your Videos! at least twice!
God Love You and God Bless You for Sharing!!
Thank You!

I carry Quick Clot with me everyday just to be on the safe side. What are your thoughts on using Cayenne Pepper to stop bleeding?
Great video! I have this stuff but never tested it out

Yes an ETD
How long dose it last in seal package ????

Great video. The funny part was the ice cream man in the background.
Found your channel by Maine Prepper, great videos.
Welcome!
Thank you for the video I heard about the importance of quick clot just was hoping if the emergency happened it wouldn't be hard to figure out how to use it but now I know! THANK YOU
TEST S Awesome!
i heard that celox is good because if it gets in your body it is turned into sugar.
First demo that I've seen -- Thank you Sir!
Skinnymedic awesome and thank you for answering. And what is a good website to found out where a trauma class would be held. Because i need some more training on trauma and I'm just wondering where do you live i live in georgia and would love to meet you some day.
+Jacob Ham I would search around on the internet for a trauma class or look under TCCC class in your area.
yarrow is what achilles carried around to stop wounds from bleeding. its easy to grow.
Can you use Quick Clot on abdominal wounds, particularly gun shot or shrapnel wounds?

Where's the best place to order quick clot online? Great vid btw!
email the guys at downtimetactical@gmail. com

What situation might you choose qc gauze vs sponge?
Major bleeding for both ... the sponge is a budget item ... I personally have the gauze in my kits
SkinnyMedic is it safe to be used? Some other UA-camr said no and it causes heart attacks late down in life?
Skinny medic i am writing a paper about quickclot and i am wondering what is the science behind it for the clotting process. And can you tell me some stories of people using this and how it has saved lives because I am going to include that in my paper.
+Jacob Ham There is tons of info on their website for data. Google T-CCC and combat gauze to give stories.
really good product and suggestion!

Celox stick to anything wet...even YOUR bloody hands. Just so you know. ;)
LoL...I say OUCH!
Dude, the reverb is horrible.
this dude has no clue on packing wounds. Zero experience.. knowledge is great, but instructions on "how to" don't listen
a squires No clue huh? I hope you are not talking about Skinny medic. He is a trained EMS so he is far from "No clue"
Yeah, trained EMS have no clue how to pack wounds. They don't ever do it!........ lol there is nothing to it. Just pack the shit in, how hard is that to figure out lol
