Tiametmarduk I think you should go back to 110 difficulty, because you went lower because of a lack of performance in Quali and this time it was on point. Also unfortunate 4:30 you missed the purple score with 1 thousand of a second.
The most effective way is buy all the upgrades is to max the factory efficiency. Taking the aero branch for example: with 0 efficiency upgrades and all quality control it's 37500 resource points. With 1 efficiency point and all quality control it's 35250 With 2 efficiency point and all quality control it's 33250 With 3 efficiency points and all quality control it's 31500 With 4 efficiency points and all quality control it's 30000 With 5 efficiency points and all quality control it's 28750 All that is provided you max efficiency points first without buying an upgrade. The quality control cost does not change with the efficiency upgrades. Side note The best branches to upgrade in order of getting the most per research point is as follows: 1. Aero - 1105.7 average cost 2. Chassis- 1119.05 average cost 3. Power train- 1166.67 average cost All this was calculated with 0 part failures and max efficiency first
That and spending Rp to the durability side of things. Season 1 (with mclaren) by the end of the season 1 i was allready using 7th engine components and 5th gearbox :P Ofc start of season 2 the car was still just about as slow but well see how many engines/gearboxes i use in S2.
In a way it feels like an authentic storyline. One bad season with a terrible engine and after that horrible last season Honda has developed during the seasons break a brand new and better engine. Honestly I like how it progressed so far and I'm really excited for the coming future of your F1 2017 Honda career :D
Finally at last !!!!!!!!! Thank you Ben for these series. A day without them seems incomplete. It has become a part of my routine. Your voice still seems weak. Take care. Don't push too hard🙂
Maybe Alonso, being AI, could feel the upgrades that never came into effect for you last season which would explain how he constantly beat you throughout qualifying
These videos have really been very enjoyable. I'm still playing the crappy F1 2015 on PS4 with a standard PS4 controller. I had been playing F1 2012 on PS3 with the steering wheel setup, but my PS3 crapped out on me. Currently saving up for F1 2017 and a steering wheel setup. For the time being this video series is my go to for taking the edge off of my craving to play this game.
14:55 of course there are corner names! Pitstraight: Jones 1st chicane: Brabham 2nd chicane: Whiteford little kink: Lauda kind of 3rd chicane: Marina where u made the overtake: Clark chicane after the backstraight: Waite next kink: Hill 2 righthanders: Ascari 2nd last corner: Steward last corner: Prost So the most corners are named after F1 drivers.
Like so Ben can sees this. Now it's the time to go to 110 ultimate difficulty for all qualifying and races. You playing lower difficulty now is too easy for your skills.
I mean this guy is not very bright and a classic example of someone who enjoys his arcade f1 experience and the most important thing is to win and not actually become a good driver. He lowered the difficulty becuse he could not stand being slow. I would upload me being handed a beating every race in P Cars 2 and never lower the difficulty. Generally they make the fastest AI too slow and the upgrade system skewed in the players direction because in the end people today only want to win. They cant stand that they cant play on the hardest difficulty. And this guy is just the tip of the ultra stupid iceberg
The Critical Gamer Oh, right. Because lowering the difficulty from 110 to 105 in qualifying only has made it so much easier for him to win. You surely have watched all of these career episodes and how dramatically faster he has been (maybe 1 spot better). Oh right and let's forget that the game didn't want to give him any of the upgrades he bought until this episode. And one more thing, you say you'd upload every single race of you getting beaten and it would be so much better? How many subs have you gotten by doing that again? Real entertainment eight here guys.
The fact the suggested strategy seemed clearly to be the incorrect one in the end shows that F1 2017 is more realistic than its predecessors. Some things, tyre strategies and weather included, are a lot more difficult to predict. It is true that for this specific race making it through to Q3 was a curse, as everyone there seemed to be forced into a 2-stop strategy.
You are getting better and better at this game everyday and are a true inspiration for me to get better. One Question: Have you ever thought about racing while changing the differential and downforce? Would it do anything?
Well, this shows that the upgrades do make a very noticeable difference. When you see the upgrades one by one, it's a bit hard to see the changes, but when you see a bunch at the same time tou really see the difference
Fun facts: You were about 1,4 seconds faster compared to last season. Your time would've gotten you 14th place in last season's qualifying. Alonso was about 0,3 seconds slower compared to last season and Hamilton (pole sitter in both seasons) was about 0,4 slower. You have to account for higher difficulty setting in first season though.
You can toggle your personal strategy on at the tire selection screen. This takes the race strategy program in account, so you have the fastest strat for your drivingstyle
i feel like it's kinda impossible to become the best team with a mclaren or a sauber, you've almost upgraded everything for engine power in just 1 season and you still are the lowest team based on that, it seems like you can upgrade things so quickly and it doesn't seem to do very much.
airstrike 900 yeah his engine will always be one of the worst, but he still has one of the best chassis. I think that with a fully upgraded engine he can be a legitimate threat on certain tracks.
Obito Uchiha yeah exactly and with the McLaren's engine all the way upgraded you can see that it isn't even half way up the progress bar it's stupid you can completely upgrade the sauber or McLaren engine and Mercedes will still have a better engine by far without even one upgrade it makes driving for the lower teams for more than one year absolutely pointless, I bet you that if you have the AI all the way up you can never win a championship with sauber or McLaren no matter how many upgrades you have on the car.
So this is the season 1 progress report: Season 1 pole position time: 1:21.979 Season 1 Ben's time: 1:25.802 Difference: +3.823 Season 2 pole position time: 1:22.429 Season 2 Ben's time: 1:24.416 Difference: +1.987 Season 1 Top Speed: 287 KPH (178.334 MPH) Season 2 Top Speed: 296 KPH (183.926 MPH) Difference: 9 KPH (5.592 MPH) Faster. Bens gained 1.836 seconds on Mercedes in one season. Also keep in mind the pole time in season 1 was faster because he was on 110 AI. This means that he has likely gained more time on the front runners.
So, I recently became very interested in the F1. I purchased F1 2016 and a racing wheel. I have a few quick questions about mastering the art of E-sports racing. 1. Is there a smart order to start turning off the assists in order to learn the quickest? (E.g. Braking --> gears --> traction) 2. I only just mastered* Australia after 40 hours of gameplay with all assists (except braking assists). Should I first master the other tracks or should I first start practicing with less assists and then continue on the other tracks? *being able to competitively race on a higher difficulty against AI.
If you're going to spend points on making upgrades cheaper, do it for the chassis or aero. You've already got half the powertrain tree, so there's less to be gained there. And the sooner you do it, the more it can save you obviously.
Now you're competitive, maybe you can turn up the difficulty again? Because look at the time gap between you and Alonso. Edit: Nevermind i should watch the video first :P
I mean that would be the first thing i would notice. The gap to my teammate. How can he think that he has a good difficulty if he is seconds per lap faster than his teammate. Hes "achievments" dont mean anything if the difficulty is not there and if the difficulty is not there then he has broken the game. If A guy of his caliber with no knowledge of racing at all can play on ultimate ai then codemasters have messed up. Why cant anyone just make a cheating AI on "ultimate" i would not care at all and make it so ultimate AI is inhuman and downgrade from there. So only 0.05 percent (the professional racing league aliens) can race utlimate ai.
+The Critical Gamer I'm no expert at professional gaming but I do know that tiametmarduk is one of the top F1 game racers. Meaning he is one of the professional racing league aliens. Top UA-camr for sure for F1 gaming.
From fighting for 8th in the constructors to the 4th fast team on the grid must feel pretty good. Gonna be interesting to see where your pace is at monza and baku though.
One thing you could do is upgrade the weakest component on the list. Right now your aerodynamics is the weakest component. So, upgrade the aero until it is a little better than the other two. Then you upgrade the other two components. Or you could upgrade a couple of the tire wear components on the chassis so making it to Q3 won't be as much as a curse. What do you think, Tiametmarduk?
This explains so much, I was also doing a McLaren career and was wondering why I would lose so much delta in practice sessions. Thought it was identical for everyone and just way easier to do with other teams because it sure as hell wasn't balanced with my shitty straight line speed in mind. Going to have to play again now that they've patched it
Can anyone who played more seasons in career confirm or deny if the strenght of the teams change during the career as in F1 2016? because from what i have seen so far, every team have the same pace of upgrades and every team stays on the same spot in comparison to other teams so nothing really changes. Last year, there were interesting changes, where some good team started to struggle and dropped down (in my career in F1 2016 merc had problems and in season 3 or 4 they were finishing outside of points for example) I think it is very important factor to make the career more fun and realistic perhaps. thanks
Waooww. This is nice seeing you competitive once again.I haven't played the game but since when do you have max engine map ? Please do some chassis or aerodynamic upgrade :D
Development wise id aim to get in the best shape possible to potentially win at either Monaco or Singa, that's going to be your best bet championship wise for big points hauls, strat wise. if your going to qually 8-9 or 10 do a banker on the medium compound and see if you can get through, if not run it in Q3 anyway at least save yourself a nice fresh set for the race
ive been using the HAAS in my career mode and its an absolute beast, high wear on the power unit etc but straight line speed and cornering can match with the red bulls
Ben if you reduce drag in Aero it will indirectly increase raw pace on some tracks. Places like Brazil maybe less, seeing as it's at at high altitude so drag is less of a problem.
Andy Tatman not in Australia where he runs a 5/5 or a 6/6/ I can't remember but if you mess with the aero on tracks like this your trading your whole track speed to get a little more speed on the main straight which isn't that long in Australia.
I don't know what it is about your Videos... but you're such a likeable chap if thats a thing. Really really great entertainment. Also love your knowledge of technical stuff, would appreciate if you could add to that a tad more even
Like how in Q3 Sainz had the same time as you. Although, based on precedent, I thought that means you go on the grid behind him. (Unless he somehow crossed the line after you, which is possible but unlikely.)
Now we're in the fight, lets do this.
Tiametmarduk Do I see a New W.D.C on the horizon?? 🤙😉😊
Fantastic job Ben!Some aerodynamic upgrades will make you even better.Maybe you should start from there.
Tiametmarduk up the difficulty
Time to go back up to 110
Tiametmarduk I think you should go back to 110 difficulty, because you went lower because of a lack of performance in Quali and this time it was on point.
Also unfortunate 4:30 you missed the purple score with 1 thousand of a second.
The most effective way is buy all the upgrades is to max the factory efficiency. Taking the aero branch for example: with 0 efficiency upgrades and all quality control it's 37500 resource points.
With 1 efficiency point and all quality control it's 35250
With 2 efficiency point and all quality control it's 33250
With 3 efficiency points and all quality control it's 31500
With 4 efficiency points and all quality control it's 30000
With 5 efficiency points and all quality control it's 28750
All that is provided you max efficiency points first without buying an upgrade. The quality control cost does not change with the efficiency upgrades.
Side note
The best branches to upgrade in order of getting the most per research point is as follows:
1. Aero - 1105.7 average cost
2. Chassis- 1119.05 average cost
3. Power train- 1166.67 average cost
All this was calculated with 0 part failures and max efficiency first
That and spending Rp to the durability side of things. Season 1 (with mclaren) by the end of the season 1 i was allready using 7th engine components and 5th gearbox :P
Ofc start of season 2 the car was still just about as slow but well see how many engines/gearboxes i use in S2.
Anyone noticed that he missed Quali program Purple score by 1 thousand of a second?
Condamn yeah xD
Condamn Damn that was unlucky
LarryJoe he also got exactly the time as Sainz in Q3
J W yeah D:
J W he actually qualified 9th because sainz got that time before ben but the game doesnt care
18:12 I love this fade cut back to your race.
In a way it feels like an authentic storyline. One bad season with a terrible engine and after that horrible last season Honda has developed during the seasons break a brand new and better engine.
Honestly I like how it progressed so far and I'm really excited for the coming future of your F1 2017 Honda career :D
What a difference all those upgrades can make! GAME ON! 😱👍
Finally at last !!!!!!!!!
Thank you Ben for these series.
A day without them seems incomplete. It has become a part of my routine.
Your voice still seems weak. Take care. Don't push too hard🙂
Best series on youtube right now, don't ever stop uploading this Ben!
Yes finally! I spent my whole weekend waiting for this series to come back
I've seen your first season , and the car have changed a lot, now have a pace and you can fight with cars ,keep going Ben you will do it
0,001 seconds to slow to get purple in qualifying pace. you're lucky!
He got that that back in qualifying, he should have been 9th because Sainz set exact same time before him
Mr. game and watchog - all round gaming mand!!!
thumbnail lookin' good, btw been waiting for this
Compared to last season's qualifying, you have improved your time by 1.4 seconds. Top notch work!
YES BOYS SEASON 2 HYPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
13:25 I'm not sure why, but I laughed so hard seeing you knock over the cone on pit road
This new season is very enjoyable! Problably because the upgrades actually work. Keep up the good work ben!!
Maybe Alonso, being AI, could feel the upgrades that never came into effect for you last season which would explain how he constantly beat you throughout qualifying
Last time I was this early, Palmer was still a Renault driver
Savage
These videos have really been very enjoyable. I'm still playing the crappy F1 2015 on PS4 with a standard PS4 controller. I had been playing F1 2012 on PS3 with the steering wheel setup, but my PS3 crapped out on me. Currently saving up for F1 2017 and a steering wheel setup. For the time being this video series is my go to for taking the edge off of my craving to play this game.
Yes a new career mode part watching this everyday is my habit love this serie!
14:55 of course there are corner names!
Pitstraight: Jones
1st chicane: Brabham 2nd chicane: Whiteford
little kink: Lauda
kind of 3rd chicane: Marina
where u made the overtake: Clark
chicane after the backstraight: Waite
next kink: Hill
2 righthanders: Ascari
2nd last corner: Steward
last corner: Prost
So the most corners are named after F1 drivers.
So glad to see all this progress with the car now. Game changer. Excited for this season!

The Critical Gamer Oh, right. Because lowering the difficulty from 110 to 105 in qualifying only has made it so much easier for him to win. You surely have watched all of these career episodes and how dramatically faster he has been (maybe 1 spot better).

Hunter Falkner right*
D. Green Yeah, I've realised but I'm leaving it that way just so people don't go "hurr durr, edited becuz he didn't know what to say"
Come on Ben, the glitch has been fixed, put it up to 110. I haven't watched the whole video so u may have put it up at the end
Rabiya Hamza no not on ps4!
he's playing on pc though
Rabiya Hamza Let him see how the first few races go then maybe 110
When will they fix it for ps4? Do you know?
I feel like Alonso actually had the engine upgrades all along and that's why he always caught up to you in races and qualified ahead of you.
I finished Singapore quali and now I'm watching Ben's vid. NICE 👍
Literally spent two minutes refreshing for this
Also he hit 306 KPH (190 MPH) this season as opposed to 300 KPH (186 MPH) last season and he is running higher downforce this season.
AssasinCreeper5 Really nice performance boost indeed!!
Qualifying Pace Programme:
Your Lap Time: 1:25.801
Optimum Lap Time: 1:25.800
You are getting better and better at this game everyday and are a true inspiration for me to get better.

Well, this shows that the upgrades do make a very noticeable difference. When you see the upgrades one by one, it's a bit hard to see the changes, but when you see a bunch at the same time tou really see the difference
The highlight of my day Ben! Love this series!
I agree Ben, click up the difficulty by 1 or 2 and experiment from there
I thought videos would keep going daily again, I loved to zone out for 20 minutes cheering for you.
The thumbnail is definitely better than before Ben
16:45 Where's the radio clip? (You know the one I'm talking about)
Shadowwolf TD5000 Oh no!!! NOOO!!!
You can toggle your personal strategy on at the tire selection screen. This takes the race strategy program in account, so you have the fastest strat for your drivingstyle
Last time I was this early, McLaren Honda was winning races.
deleted that "Honda" and it makes sense.
It makes sense with Honda if you go back far enough.
Owenzz UA-cam didn't exist back then...
Die Legende That's kinda the joke lol
+Die Legende 2013 bud
18:11 godly transition
Love this series! Back to my usual routine after work🤗 🏎
i feel like it's kinda impossible to become the best team with a mclaren or a sauber, you've almost upgraded everything for engine power in just 1 season and you still are the lowest team based on that, it seems like you can upgrade things so quickly and it doesn't seem to do very much.
airstrike 900 I hope that the big engine upgrades give hime a big performance boost!!
You can already see how much they will improve the engine when u click on them
airstrike 900 yeah his engine will always be one of the worst, but he still has one of the best chassis.
There will be a day that this team is the best of the f1 can't wait for that day💪🏽
The thumbnail looks awesome dude
So this is the season 1 progress report:
Season 1 pole position time: 1:21.979
Season 1 Ben's time: 1:25.802
Difference: +3.823
Season 2 pole position time: 1:22.429
Season 2 Ben's time: 1:24.416
Difference: +1.987
Season 1 Top Speed: 287 KPH (178.334 MPH)
Season 2 Top Speed: 296 KPH (183.926 MPH)
Difference: 9 KPH (5.592 MPH) Faster.
Bens gained 1.836 seconds on Mercedes in one season.
Also keep in mind the pole time in season 1 was faster because he was on 110 AI. This means that he has likely gained more time on the front runners.
Brett Yorkey ok lol
Finally! I've been waiting for a car under Ben that is not a f*ckin lawn mower in any way.
Thanx Ben!
Was so excited for this ep , ran it at 720p
Ben I don't know if it makes a difference but if you keep the rpm between 11000 and 12000 you get a better launch
I think that you deserve more subscribers Ben!
What is Jeff saying when he drives over the finish line? "Pick up Brother"? 20:03 - Pick up your brother
Pick up rubber
Am I the only one that wanted to shed a tear of joy when he saw the position that he got in qualifying
20:14 why is there a mercedes guy there on the podium? I tought that the constructor with the most points in the race gets up on the podium?
So, I recently became very interested in the F1. I purchased F1 2016 and a racing wheel. I have a few quick questions about mastering the art of E-sports racing.
1. Is there a smart order to start turning off the assists in order to learn the quickest? (E.g. Braking --> gears --> traction)
Wow the applied engine upgrades made a huge difference
Now you're competitive, maybe you can turn up the difficulty again?
Because look at the time gap between you and Alonso.
Edit:
Nevermind i should watch the video first :P
The Critical Gamer you took the words outta my mouth, except I would be too lazy to type
+The Critical Gamer I'm no expert at professional gaming but I do know that tiametmarduk is one of the top F1 game racers. Meaning he is one of the professional racing league aliens. Top UA-camr for sure for F1 gaming.
18:13 nice transition ;)
You sound a lot happier than previous videos😁
From fighting for 8th in the constructors to the 4th fast team on the grid must feel pretty good. Gonna be interesting to see where your pace is at monza and baku though.
One thing you could do is upgrade the weakest component on the list. Right now your aerodynamics is the weakest component. So, upgrade the aero until it is a little better than the other two. Then you upgrade the other two components. Or you could upgrade a couple of the tire wear components on the chassis so making it to Q3 won't be as much as a curse. What do you think, Tiametmarduk?
Loving the thumbnail!
I really liked this episode, thank you Ben :)
This explains so much, I was also doing a McLaren career and was wondering why I would lose so much delta in practice sessions. Thought it was identical for everyone and just way easier to do with other teams because it sure as hell wasn't balanced with my shitty straight line speed in mind. Going to have to play again now that they've patched it
finally the wait is over
i couldn't wait any longer the the career mode season 2
Yess Ben!! 🙌❤now you're in it! This will be real good from now on
Can anyone who played more seasons in career confirm or deny if the strenght of the teams change during the career as in F1 2016? because from what i have seen so far, every team have the same pace of upgrades and every team stays on the same spot in comparison to other teams so nothing really changes. enjoyed watching your videos keep up the good work and keep making more
Love the new thumbnail.
4:32 you were one one thousandth of a second too slow lol
That's some nice editing Ben! :)
4:30
Ben's lap time - 1:25:801
Purple time - 1:25:800
I am so hyped because you are so hyped, leeeets gooo!
Time for Ben to show his ultimate pace
Gets excited about 7th in practice
Using ultrasofts
while not being purple at Qualifiying program and estimated p19
4:30 he was 1 thousand to slow for the purple score
Shrz 452 haha didn't see that
Shrz 452 wow, i bet he wouldve gotten it had he not had that tiny bobble in turn 2
He drives a mclaren?!
Simulated lap times have been lowered which means qualification sessions are way easier now.
4:30 ben was 0.001 second away from purple😓
Finally , I've been waiting for this
Been wait for this for so long!
Waooww. This is nice seeing you competitive once again.I haven't played the game but since when do you have max engine map ?
Please do some chassis or aerodynamic upgrade :D
Now we are going to up the AI to 110 right?
R u going to do all 10 seasons Ben?
Dan Dan till he wins the title with mclaren
Rabiya Hamza then he needs 11 seasons😂
make it 14
no no make it never
Dan Dan *9 more seasons, McLaren-Honda! **McLaren-Honda.com**!*
If u check at 4:31, are you actually missing the purple time by 0.001 or am I seeing this wrong :D
16:45 I expected the "Oh no, noo" sound file
Ben, hello. Have you discover the "bug" of the red lights in the start? you can go from 20th to 1st in the start without any penalty.
glad you are back
Development wise id aim to get in the best shape possible to potentially win at either Monaco or Singa, that's going to be your best bet championship wise for big points hauls, strat wise. if your going to qually 8-9 or 10 do a banker on the medium compound and see if you can get through, if not run it in Q3 anyway at least save yourself a nice fresh set for the race
Loving the new logo 😍😍😍
ive been using the HAAS in my career mode and its an absolute beast, high wear on the power unit etc but straight line speed and cornering can match with the red bulls
Ben, your 1 thousandth of the second of getting purple in he qualifying programme! Unlucky mate! I would still blame it on the Honda engine!
for understeer - increase the front downforce,
for oversteer - increase the back downforce
Still a good finish. Stay consistent in the top 10 and podium possibility will arrive in your stronger circuits.
Ben if you reduce drag in Aero it will indirectly increase raw pace on some tracks. Places like Brazil maybe less, seeing as it's at at high altitude so drag is less of a problem.
Andy Tatman not in Australia where he runs a 5/5 or a 6/6/ I can't remember but if you mess with the aero on tracks like this your trading your whole track speed to get a little more speed on the main straight which isn't that long in Australia.
nomoreclickbait please nono you miss understand, I mean the drag upgrades under the Aero department of the R&D
Love the vids man hated the 3 day break.
Loving Your f1 2017 content. All the best, for You and Honda as well :)
My man is back
16:38 Weird seeing that car's engine blow given how reliable their team usually is.
That Renault engine coming in clutch for McLaren already 👍
The car now actually climbs up to 300km/h comfortably. I still don't understand how no one noticed this during last season.
