Hiring a driver in this game is op imo, I started with the small garage and 2 drivers. Now I have reached the driver limit and I can't hire more, they work like magic. Now my money is at 5,2 Billion without any cheats, mods, or save game.
Money really starts go grow after a while. Personally I am using a real economy mod to balance things out a bit. I find it unrealistic go make 30-50k on a trip. This way it's between 1000-5000 maybe 10k on a long trip with expensive cargo.
@@silvervisage5096 i feel the same, i'm always keeping my money down low. It gives me more of a reason to pay attention to the roads in order not to mess up, Been doing it like that for years now and i still only have 1 garage with myself and 1 driver. It keeps things much more immersive and rewarding
You'll think twice before running a redlight or nudging a fellow traffic participant eh? Every that 100-150 euros fine comes off your pay at the end of the trip. Puts the work into a whole different light. But again that's just me talking...Cheers and drive safe fellow truckers!
The traffic lights definitely could use some reworking. They need to make the yellow last longer (I swear it's only 2 seconds), and add a small grace period for the red lights of 1-2 seconds. Plus I think it's ridiculous how you always get the red light fine even when there are no cameras, and no police around.
thats why you turn traffic offense off to make the game more realistic. They don't even have red light cameras irl and speed cameras are always warned about with a sign
Plus when it turns yellow and you can’t stop in time so you have to go thru it and get fined even when it turns red after you’re already in the intersection.
i think that you don't get red light fine if you are driving too fast (I think 30+ kmph above the speed limit), maybe it's because game can forgive you if braking from your speed is dangerous to you and other drivers
With the reversing I always taught myself to do it in first person cab view, I prefer it and I personally think it is better to learn that way, cause it taught me to go slow and use the mirrors as intended.
Same! For me a big part of it was to actually see the wheel (I use controller for now :(( ). When I tried to do it from a top view I accidentally used full strokes when it's mostly about small corrections
Third person in this game messes with my head. I over correct when driving and often steer the wrong way when reversing. Now I just switch to third person to check the surroundings and then go back into first person.
@@njnjco Like when you stop moving and can't tell why...go outside the truck and there's a stupid bucket left on the ground that is now stopping your 79 tonne vehicle from moving 1cm...tough bucket!
This reminds me of my first ETS2 days, back when I was using 8x4 trucks or even 12x4 RJL. I used to customise my truck (Scania Streamline) with lots of lights and signs. Now I use just 4x2 chassis for any truck and I rarely add a horn or a light to my trucks.
Totally agree! I used to always customise my trucks to the brim. But even getting back into the game, starting a new save. After I bought my first 6x2 I just switched it to 4x2 after a few loads. I find it really annoying to park. Can't even imagine what 8x4 and more feels like
After almost 10 years since the game first lauched, I'm still so in love with ets2. I remember playing ets was such a thing back in the days but now ets2 is really something unique. I have more than 3k hours playing and created a hard economy mod by myself (even though you can use the console to set the economy parameters). I try to play as realistically as possible and I'm really really enjoying it a lot! Board computers mod are a MUST TO HAVE for me but also the truck sound mods in which Kapitan Kriechbaum is a master. For free. Hope SCS reworks UK one day an maybe adds Ireland as well. Also the BENELUX should be reworked too. And most of all, I'm so excited for Heart of Russia DLC and the Balkans maybe. I really hope to see the whole Europe in a couple of years. Not mentioning the possibility to wash our trucks and trailers and the opportunity to meet our drivers on the road, not just on the map. Cheers all Nice vid my friend
You seems enjoying this game as much as I do. My path is different in one thing: I ended up to collect die-cast trucks. I always have been a collector, but changed my focus because of ETS2. 🙂
A little tip for reversing, if you turn your view camera left enough your view will turn out the window, so you'll have a way better view of the left side
6:00 counterpoint: Install at least bus traffic pack or other traffic packs to make traffic more diverse. It really doesn't look immersive if you see 3 EXACTLY SAME buses on the highway
I think my favorite was that someone made a few star wars vehicles for ATS that I installed and completely forgot about and had to do a double take when I saw a landspeeder driving by one day after not playing it for a while
I wanted to do that but I have DB's traffic related mods but I'm unsure if they're compatible with Jazzycat's stuff. Also, they listed the load order of mods in their website but I'm confused. Does the list mean that their traffic intensity mod has to be at the top of the load order over all of their other mods or should it instead be at the bottom under everything else?
@@hanifloka130 jazzycat's traffic packs should be compatible with DB's mods, but if something crashes you know what that means. Same with mods order. I think traffic intensity should be on top, but if game doesn't load the it's the other way around. Just remember to not check both things at the same time
One thing to consider also: timing of refuelling. You gotta check each country's diesel price and plan your refuelling timing and place during a job to save more euros... or just save-load right after refuelling for free diesel lol.
@@lexpolis5266 Western Europe varies a little bit and I'm not sure id go far out of my way for that kind of difference, but if you have map dlcs then some of the Eastern countries are much, much cheaper, from memory the most extreme is that Russia is about a third of the cost of Sweden in game! So if you are heading East and back again, remember to top your tanks up before coming back. (Turkey, Bulgaria, Poland also noticeably cheaper than Western Europe, if people are avoiding supplying Russia in their game because {gestures} reasons.) Having a truck with big tanks helps magnify the effect, if you're doing long East West runs and can get in the habit of only having to fuel at the East end of the run you will save quite a bit.
One month ago, I needed this video, now I explored like 60%of the map, and get a lesson by all mistakes I made, and you of course showed them today! Good video! Hope it helps a lot! Keep making this type of content!
When I started playing ETS2, I started doing short jobs and after some time I borrowed money and bought my Scania R with a 360 horsepower engine and low cab. I stayed that way for a long time and then I hired a driver. The profits were not much but they were good. Slowly but surely. Now I have several hired drivers and local drivers in different countries. Particularly, I don't like to tune my trucks too much (then they look like rolling discotheques). I use simple and basic tuning and solid colors.
I think turning of fatigue too early is a mistake. Having to rest helps exploring and taking in the beautiful maps SCS created and it's generally a good practice to familiarise yourself with the controls and dimensions of your truck. Apart from that I can only agree. I often deliberately pick trucks I rarely drive and/or pick low HP engines in order to get a better feel for the weight of my cargo and the difficulties of different terrain. Also it may save a substantial amount of fuel when you haul a lot of lighter cargo. If you want to have it a bit more realistic and you use a decent wheel don't crank up braking intensity and go for minimum sitffnes and stability. You will get in a way better groove that way saving fuel and going as slow as necessary to avoid breaking unless you need to to stop or go down a hill, plus it's very rewarding. That said. I always wished the game would give me a bonus for saving fuel and brakes. I could go on and on. So much to consider than just going from A to B as fast as possible.
When I started, I just did a whole load of the quick jobs, the highest paying ones primarily and some that just looked fun. It doesn’t take too many to earn enough money to buy your own garage and a nice truck. Also doing the quick jobs, you don’t have to worry about other costs like fuel or toll, just get there in time and don’t damage the truck :) You’re also able to explore different areas of the map as you’re not ‘stuck’ at the destination, you park the truck, get paid and you’re done, you can start a new quick job at the other end of the map if you want…
This is what I like about quick jobs. If you were in Spain but wanted to start a job in Finland you could (as long as you had a city discovered there), and until the update, you would've had to have a garage there or drive all the way there otherwise. I always do quick jobs to get a truck cuz you have so much freedom.
@@blacktiger114 Not sure if it effects quick jobs, but maybe if you turn on time zones in the options..? Haven’t tried myself, maybe it doesn’t effect it at all, but worth a try I guess…
love this game.. i asked a real truck driver about parking the trailer he said if you want it to go left turn your wheel right now i do it like a boss . never had a bank , loan just made my own cash and worked on it . i must admit i don't explore the map as much as i should . great vid love the music
Very good and useful points here. One of the mistakes I used to make was trying to get the "best" engine and transmission and strap them on a chassis without checking the maneuverability. This would result in a bad engine/transmission/chassis combo and the truck would be stressful to drive. Another mistake, as you pointed out, is getting a truck which hauls heavy loads to haul normal loads - a total waste of engine capacity. Another mistake is wanting to drive only the top tier trucks like the Volvos and Scanias. The IVECOs are fun to drive too. The Stralis Hi Way for example, with the 560hp Euro 6 engine and 16 speed transmission on an 4x2 chassis, is a dream to drive. It's become of my favorite trucks - took it all the way from Hamburg to Aktobe, Kazakhstan (Great Steppe mod) - no stress. I wish they'd add the IVECO S Way as well. Also SCS need to update some of the engines. Many of them are old Euro 5 engines or ones with incorrect torque curves.
The game is simply too shallow to simulate the usage of certain trucks for certain jobs. It's best to use a low-medium powered 4x2 or 6x2/4 midlift for regular box cargo but there's no point in not doing so- fuel might as well be free and more complex configurations aren't any more expensive to maintain/repair.
Especially the "let your driver drive the first truck" set up is a good tip. This way you start to train your drivers as early as possible which will make them more profitable later on. Also, don't be affraid to sack a driver, as some are better as others.
It's simple: your original garage costs €180.000 to upgrade, wich means that each vacancy will cost €90.000, because you already have yours. So, instead of upgrading the initial garage, buy another one, by the same price. Here we'll have a new garage, with 3 spaces for 3 trucks, each one by the price of €60.000. And after you complete the spaces for the 3 trucks, don't ugrade the garage, just buy another one. That's a better condition, due to the fact that if you upgrade for 2 more spaces, eacch one will cost €50.000 (the price to upgrade is €100.000), €10.000 less than the 3 space cost. So, in the end, you'll have 2 garages, with 6 spaces and 6 trucks. And after that, now you can upgrade the 2 garages, by the price of €200.000. But in here, we have 4 spaces, each on by the price of €50.000. And that's for the garage. Now we can talk about trucks: Till here we've taken already €180.000 to one garage. If you get a loan, it'll give you €500.000, at max. So, in my case, I've bought, initally, 3 Scania 520S, 6x2, €173.000 each. If you make the numbers, for each garage, I've spent a total of €699.000 (€180.000 + 3 x €173.000). To reach that value, I've worked and got €200.000 by trucking myself and then €500.000 from the bank. That's the way I've started and continue to do untill nowadays. It's a simple mode that everybody can do and explore in the game! 🚛
Better yet, get cheapest truck you can find and strip anything (I think IVECO was [is?] cheapest). Your AI driver won't mind hauling 25 tons with 300 hp engines, but I bet you do. After a few months (in game) you'll have more garage and trucks than you care to do and you can just buy garage as space to keep your collection in places
Here is some tips for people struggling with backing: •Turn to the problem. If the trailer is going too far to the left then turn the same direction as the “problem”, to the left. If the trailer isn’t going left enough then the problem is the trailer is too much to the right, so you turn the wheel right some. Same the other way around of course. •Setup is key, where possible try to set up for as close as possible to a straight line backup. Also not as applicable in game as real life but always take pull through straight forward spots that you can pull forward out of or straight line backs. A lot of new drivers irl make the mistake of trying the more challenging one or taking a closer spot so they don’t have to walk as far even if it’s more difficult spot and that’s when accidents happen. •Trust your left(or right for right hand drive vehicles), it’s easier to see out the drivers side so as much as possible back with the trailer bent to the drivers side so you can see better where it’s going, just keep in mind the tail swing(especially American trailers/ATS). I personally irl and in game like to keep as close as possible to what is on my drivers side because then I know the tail won’t hit what’s on the side I can’t see. •Try not to bend your trailer too much unless you have to, and if you do, for me at least a 90 degree back is easier than a 45 degree. So when backing with the trailer at an angle when the trailer is at the angle you want keep the wheel slightly turned in the direction you want the trailer to go, this will keep the angle. If you need more angle then straighten the wheel, it will turn the trailer more, then turn again a little the direction you want the trailer to go to hold that angle. Remember when straightening the trailer that it takes a little bit for the truck to get straight with it so you want to start straightening a little before the trailer is straight, kind of anticipate where the trailer and truck will become straight, longer the trailer the longer it will take to straighten where as shorter trailers will straighten up quickly, but also shorter trailers don’t need much angle to turn hard so they are more sensitive to input. •When backing don’t worry so much about where your wheels are just watch the BUMPER of the trailer, not the wheels. You’re basically driving the trailer not the truck, just make sure there is enough room up front around you so the truck doesn’t hit anything while turning. Watching the rear of the trailer you will kinda feel where the trailer is going and you’ll know what you need to do. Hope this helps someone.
@@BruceCarbonLakeriver even though it’s just a game the articulation is very real. So if you can do it first person in cab using mirrors then you could irl too.
@@BruceCarbonLakeriver those start to get complicated lol. 2 trailers without a dolly are pretty easy but 3 and up it’s extremely difficult. I have one time backed up the lowboy with a front and back dolly in ATS, it was a very slow and difficult process but I did it and got it straight lol
using the 8x heavy chassis "because it looks cool" actually makes getting into places harder. I run a 6x2 tag axle for 90% of my work on TMP, usually 510 to 650hp though I do have a 750hp volvo, and with that they cover most of what I haul.
Inconvenient too. They tend to have smaller fuel tanks, prompting more frequent fuel stops. 4x2 axles tends to have the largest tank. More chances to refuel at places with cheap fuel.
@@neverbrokeagain2547 As of version 1.45, usually Eastern Europe. Cheapest five in order are Russia, Hungary, Turkey, Bulgaria, and Poland. Regardless of location, fuel stations in large garages are discounted.
I've had this game for a few years. I'm not any means new to the game, but this video showed me why I got the game in the first place. About the experience. Brilliant video!
For a long, long, LONG time when I first got the game I did the thing where you drive a truck you don't own, and I slowly built up cash, but I'll never forget owning my first truck. Magical! And as with life, once you start to make money, and get people working for you, the more money starts to roll in. But I loved those early days of driving trucks when I didn't own one.
true, it is often my motivation to activate a 2nd profile just for making the beginning again xD Call me silly but it kinda gives me nostalgia ... I end up buying the same trucks anyways lol
Thanks for the tips. I'm just starting out and have only ridden in the demo so far. First with the keyboard and now for two days with my first steering wheel (Thrustmaster TX). Some of the things you mentioned I have also noticed. For me it is now first of all to always stay on the road and especially in tight corners not to hang with the trailer on any objects. Reverse driving is really tricky so far, because the trailer feels always moves in the wrong direction :-D. There is still a lot to learn, but it's fun and once the driving itself has become automated, that you no longer have to constantly think about how to do this or that, then come the other things. With an old man like me, everything takes a little longer. But at least I have over 40 years of driving experience in the real world. That also helps a little here and there. I take my time and, after a period of practice, I can start all over again with the experience I've gained and do everything better.
I’ve driven for hundreds of hours with the 4 axle volvo and scanias. Until i switched to the Daf XG+ with mirror cams. This truck is so awesome for efficient driving. I can easily do russia to portugal without stopping for fuel. And that is with a new savegame without fuel efficiency points
The only advice i can give, is drive as you would in the real world. Its a simulator after all, its meant to be immersive and enjoyed as such, especially if you are on the multiplayer servers where everyone just races and crashes into people. Just drive normal, and you will find it relaxing. And dont be afraid to learn to back trailers up. I wish more people would do this, especially with doubles. I have gotten much better with practice myself!
My first double trailer park in game was because I got a personal double not knowing we have to park them to load, was great fun getting it onto the dock at both ends even though it did take me a long time. I found ATS has more challenging parking areas coupled with longer wheelbase. The fun of truck sims is the parking.
One of the things that made me enjoy the game more, plus appreciate and like all trucks, was maxing the HP out at 460-500. Driving a MB, Volvo or Scania with a 600+hp engine especially when doing 99% normal loads, actually became insanely boring (and unrealistic) and since I usually just buy a basic trailer and stick with that nowadays, 460 is more than enough power. Also prefer the 4x2 chassis since, it appears to be what the overwhelming majority of trucks use in Europe + the larger fuel tanks means less time stopping to fuel up. Love the XF105 as it has two 4x2 options, one being with a larger fuel tank.
Try out the IVECO Stralis Hi Way with 560hp, 16 speed transmission and 4x2 chassis. Smooth like butter. It’s ideal for various load types from normal to medium (not tried heavy). I know IVECO doesn’t have a great reputation but the Hi Way 560 has become one of my favourites. It was btw, Truck of the Year 2013! Sounds old but believe me, it’s fun. I took it all the way from Germany to Kazakhstan and it was a stress free trip.
@@XerxesLangrana The only thing I dislike about the Hi Way is my eyes aren't quite like they use to be (even with glasses) and the speedometer can feel small at times, and it lacks a digital speedometer to make up for it. Having said that, it's actually the truck I'm planning on getting next (3rd truck). It's fun to drive and does look nice.
@@ryanz486 There is a screen between the speedometer and tachometer but I'm not sure if shows the speed in digital format. There is an improved replacement for that screen available as a mod which probably shows the speed in digital. You might want to check that out. I wish SCS had added the S Way. There are mods for that model too but I'm not sure how good they are. Maybe I'll try out one. I am currently driving a Volvo FH 460 which is rather nice except that I find it noisy. The Hi Way on the other hand is very quiet and the gearshift is very smooth. I found it a lot more refined than many of the big boys, Scania and Volvo.
Exactly, so many, many people run 1000 HP christmas tree trucks, if I was playing like that, I'd get bored in 5 minutes. Trucks are work machines, this isn't Need for Speed.
@@ryanz486 Actually, many of the trucks have hard to read guages but this isn't the fault of the vehicle, this is simply a game limitation of resolution, texture quality, field of view, ect...
I agree with a lot of what you put into this Video. To this day, I use the quick jobs with supplied truck/trailer. Rarely use the Scania S 8x4. Just bought it because I could ;) I have a low end PC any way, but it does not spoil the enjoyment of the game. From the start, I used Quick Jobs. As soon as I could afford it, and had gained the skills to do so, I upgraded Garage, and then bought first truck, IVECO ASTRAILS. No paint job or anything, Truck as supplied in Dealership. I do not think (Unless they change this in future upgrades) that the size of truck and upgrades effects the game managerial side. Obviously, the drivers you hire, have a set of skills, and I go for the ones with Distance and High Value Cargo first. They made me lots of money in the game, whilst I was (Still am) using the Quick Jobs. I did a lot of driving in the Scania S 8X4 on free roam to discover the map. Some views are stunning, the detail SCS put into it is amazing, I have over a Billion in money and nothing to spend it on ha! Own all garages, Fully upgraded, and no more Drivers to hire. I used Promods to gain extra maps, like RUSSIA and so on, but have removed them, and sit back and enjoy the driving and the views. I love the Cut Scenes too. I could go on, but I think I can end it with this... (i) If you want a Fast Paced Racing game (ii) Use Cheat mods like no damage, fines etc..Then this game is not for you. It is a Simulator not an Arcade game. I have Cancer, so I probably will never get to play "Heart of Russia". The game takes me to places I will never visit in the flesh, and from what I read in comments, they are very close to the real scenery, obviously, changing scenery, Trees and plants are limited, though they do get repeated, you see the same trees etc.. and the AI traffic, same junction, different vehicle pulls out on you at same point of delivery. It just adds to the enjoyment side. I love the game, and have bought every MAP DLC and the Special Deliveries, Heavy Cargo and so on, and the trailer packs. To me it was and is worth it. I am not into the Convoy modes, I only have family on my friends list, we did a few convoys, but I prefer to sit back, drive and listen to the MP3's I add into the game, or the free Internet Radios which I also added to the game. Paint jobs ? Never bought one, always used my own, learnt from watching Videos here on the Tube. I have made a few videos for ETS2 and ATS on my channel, No where near as good as graphics in your videos, I am not working, and money is very tight. Oh that is another point, I have not seen another Simulator with the content and graphics at this price. Base game is very good value, and I think about 800% cheaper than most Simulators. Love your Videos Milan. Thank you for sharing them with your unbiased reviews/advice. And thank you for supplying links to the mods. Which, if we dont like a mod, we can always remove it. Thank you for the videos and please keep doing them, for me, this is the best channel for those reviews. - PHiL -
A general beginers tip for reversing a trailer: When looking towards the back of the truck, if you want your trailer to go left, you turn your wheel to the left. This will cause the truck to turn right and the trailer to swing left.
G'day Milan, trying to catch up on quite a few of the vids I missed during a busy & overwhelming time, As until recently I was only playing with the Original ETS2 I have to admit I have always just been busy doing the driving & never bothered expanding the business with extra trucks & drivers, but now I expanded with some bundles that include the new Cargo Packs plus expanding my map to include France, Italy, Baltic & Black Seas as they were 70% off I'll have to look into expanding the business too. 1:53 "And I am running out of keybord keys" yep so many great fun & useful features that we are going to need an extra keypad, After getting back into playing lots with my new gaming PC last year, I upgraded from a FX6300 + R9 270X to a R3 3300X + RX580, I am really enjoying your videos & they have been a big help finding those useful settings.
When I first started playing this game nearly 10 years ago I would spend a lot of money on trucks, upgrades, fines and garages for no reason whatsoever resulting me getting into debt but now like every other player who has been playing same amount of time as me I have silly money and I can run red lights all day if I wanted to and buy as many trucks and garages as I want
I definitely have committed the red light challenge before, and I still sometimes do, even though I'm far from being newbie, you just sometimes get away with it, other times, well, you realize you had to be more patient. 😅 Other mistakes newbies would do: * Not paying attention to the delivery time of the cargo: If playing with fatigue enabled, it's very important to manage your stops, do too many and you will arrive late, check your time with F6 or in the menu to see if you can rest this time or not, no matter how big that time left looks, you have to manage your rest stops or you'll be late. * Buying accessories to every single spot the Truck has a button for: Used to do this, and after a while, you learn that less is better, by all means of course modify it so it has your touch, just don't overdo it or it will look worse than how it came from the dealership.
I personally think it’s better to turn of fatigue simulation and decide for yourself when you want to stop for rest. This has saved me the sleep penalty and gives me time to plan my rest stops in way that I want e.g. if it’s a long distance job starting late evening, I drive till about 10.00 or 11.00 at night, then find a spot to rest (you can also set up your stops by adding pins on the map to aid the GPS), then I start again in the morning, drive the whole day until evening and then rest until heading out again next day. Works best for me.
The only thing I can’t stand is when there is an obstacle blocking the entire highway and the only re-route is hundreds of km. If they’re going to block the highway they need more realistic detours.
Trying to run urgent deliveries with detours might get impossible. You can do everything perfectly, and have a detour completely zero your trip, making a "short" route three times as long.
i absolutely love ets and have 2k+ h in the game ^^ there is nothing more relaxing than sitting down after a hard day of work and driving one of my trucks on country roads while enjoying the scenery sometimes alone and sometimes with friends :3 i actually turned on my fatigue setting so i have to calculate where i have to make my breaks so i can deliver as efficiently as possible x3 You guys know tramerie right the narrow company i love parking there the most because i actually reverse my truck from the outside into my parking spot ^^
For skills (ADR, Long distance, etc.) you should first max out the long distance skill as you would yield higher profits from longer deliveries. Then, you can start maxing out ADR. High value cargo, fragile cargo, and just in-time delivery, you can progressively max out 1 each (as in 1 skill point in order: high value -> fragile -> just-in time, and repeat). Fuel saving should be ABSOLUTE LAST skill to max out since it only makes you save like up to 35% of fuel consumption. Besides, you's still get massive profits even without a maxed out fuel saving skill since refuelling expenses doesn't affect much of the delivery reward. I know this from my mistake of maxxing out fuel saving first and ended up bankrupting myself a few times. And once I got ATS, this time i tried maxing out long distance first and I didn't go bankrupt.
Agree brother, this game has been a life experience for me, from watching it on youtube as a kid (abt 12 years) on 2014, i bought it YEARS after in 2020, so much changed from the 2014 videos, but i just didnt hav enough money to buy the game until i got a job, finding new cities, playing with friends, causing CHAOS on the roads, and playing with promods, just so nice, i can easily say this game is a lifestyle at some point...
This video is really good. I just recently started playing, surprising how some of the things mentioned here I already considered beforehand. However, some "mistakes" mentioned are more opinions than anything. Sure, playing without mods to enjoy the base game is good advice (I myself usually have the same mentality with skyrim for example), BUT, ets 2 I found out is a game that has some features that can simply be improved, like traffic, having real companies and so on. I myself would just recommend if someone wanted to mod the game, then leave it at realism mods. Cheating or making the game simply easier at the very start makes no sense, but adding mods that help you get immersed into the world are a really good way to improve the game.
Only problem, they can sometimes be unimmersive, due to modeling inconsistencies (they may be imported from other games) and the general lag they cause.
Real nice spirit in here ! A smart mix of skills needed to ease the game and a bit of philosophy on what are the real goals of trucking ! Thank you, Sir !
When in traffic lights, If you pass it in yellow it won't fine you. But your cabin should pass the break line on the road on time. So if you wanna try it, make sure you have enough speed to do that...
When I started I spent a lot of money on bull bar, and unnecessary spotlights, 8x4 chassis and all that. Now my trucks look a lot better because i dont have a million lights on my grille now
Well, there are legal reasons why 6x2, 6x4 and 8x4 exist. The game simply misrepresents more axles and more HP as a Need for Speed style "upgrade", which these things are not. The game should have a more involved job market that takes into account cargo weight and vehicle configuration type, which it already does, in some way. Eg. you can't accept heavy cargo with a two axle trailer, things like that.
Me and my brother use to love this game. I remember we use to rush after school to get home and start playing. We would customise our trucks to the rim. It got a whole lot better when we discovered we could play with a mouse, then we started plugging the projector Nd we'll play the whole night. I miss those days, I miss you brother 😢 RIP
i would recommend that you stick to the 4x2 chassis if your Truck model has some overpowered engine, it would save you time from refueling once in a while and make your deliveries more efficient
Some heavy and special deliveries are impossible in 4x2 truck because it will just bog down in steep inclines where you can't store momentum. 6x4 is a not negotiable upgrade if you haul 40+ tons. More power on one driven axle will just cause more wheelspin.
7:08 This is also some amazing advice for IRL driving. I may be young but I do already possess 10,000+ hours of driving at the age of 18 (started at 16 with a permit). I drive for money as a courier, I like to believe that I possess the kind of driving experience that not everyone gets at a young age. I have personally ran a few lights IRL just because I was going ten over and the intersection was coming up quick and the light turned red just before I passed through (I was speeding up to get through it as well). Totally could've been fined a couple hundred bucks for those times combined.
@@toptierdiscordmod7806 I'm from the US, this is just the system I guess. I would love to at least do a load like you even if it's 16,000 kg. I got a heart for trying new things and I've enjoyed driving in truck sims throughout my teen years. Keep it up you got this in the bag just like me
I made a lot of newbie mistakes. I did take a loan and went all in with the best Volvo truck I could get. Needless to say, I worked on my own to pay the debt but I managed anyway. Maybe that's okay too, play your own way, right? What I am missing is enjoying the sights. I convoy with my husband and he drives real fast. But when I see picture icon, we stop so I get to take our photos!
6:06 say that who downloaded PM on the 2nd day of trucking because "I was bored and I wanted to open a HQ in Sarajevo..." well, guess who's dreams came true :D I can't wait for PM 2.61 !
Another common thing is players don't think about their trailer when turning and end up stuck on the inner guard rail or they drive the trailer through a ditch because they took the corner too tight
I add one more item, adjust your seat, steering and mirrors. Especially when you take a quick job, you will find your seat is always in an awkward position with different trucks. Try to adjust the height so that it is not too high you cannot see the traffic lights, or too low you cannot see the road for safety judgement. Shift front or back so that you can see part of the dashboard and one of the side mirror.
2:06 I personally have no problem parking a trailer and most of the time i choose to do it for the extra xp. My dad is a trucker and so I learned how to park them from him, but it's also relatively intuitive. 3:22 Idk, I really like my Volvo FX500, but i realized it's even slower than the truck i had previously which is now driven by an employee so I was thinking of getting some money to get another truck and hire another person.
I don't know if all of this can be called mistakes. I mean, sure, it can be slow to get enough money to buy good/the best truck as your first truck, but then you're rewarded with feeling really proud of your new truck... or just happy that your hard work is paying off finally. I think that all this stuff can be called mistakes if you're talking about doing everything perfectly, but this the doesn't have any ultimate goal, so there is no need for perfection or hurry. Still, great and helpful vidoe. I'll look into these settings.
''Don't drive with one truck only'', meanwhile me with my first truck, Renault Premium, with which I am nearing 150 000km :) Although I agree with some of the points in the video, let everyone play as they want to. Since launch I played multiple profiles and I discovered that I hate having AI drivers early, because I'd have so much money it would be just pointless to play anymore. Therefore my first and only truck is the truck I'll be using for most of the game.
I restarted ETS2 and ATS recently as I was getting more money than I could spend from drivers. I'm actually having lots of fun building up the Company again. Level 7 and one hired driver so far :)
I still remember my beginner days of spending stupid amounts of money on expensive paintjobs, auxiliary lights and all............ Now I just keep my trucks cosmetically stock, although I have found the 6x4 chassis to be a decent balance between normal and heavy cargo, so I used that in pretty much everything I drive, when available I also decided to challenge myself by driving a bone-stock Stralis with the 310hp engine, and boy that was quite something indeed
Well, the game simply doesn't take into account efficiency, legality and maintanance costs. This is why RL companies don't have a fleet of 750 HP 8x4 trucks for every job. More axles are needed simply to legaly hold a certain weight of cargo.
Never played these type games but decided to buy this and the American one cos it looked interesting so this video definitely helps me. Some good info for us beginners lol
1:57 me too bro. Devs add so many new functions yet almost all of the keys in my keyboard are taken. Honestly, I kinda wish they would stop adding more functions and start focusing on the rest of the game itself.
The title speaks about mistakes beginners do, yet most of what is mentioned in the video is down to preference of the individual player. Just pointing that out, I personally like to do things completely differently as I have a different approach, it doesn't mean that I make a lot of mistakes because I don't do it like the creator of the video. But I think it might just be an issue of wording in the title. I would have named it 8 tips for beginners, not 8 mistakes. Nice video.
Some other noob mistakes: 1. Turn right on red lights is a US thing, but even in ATS it's not allowed and you will be fined for it. Take your time and wait a little. 2. Racing around isn't part of the game, that you can doesn't mean you should. The game is about learning to drive and following the law. It isn't a race either. 3. The time you get to get from A to B isn't there to rush you. It's there to state when you are expected to arrive. However just like in real life you can arrive earlier and later depending on traffic conditions. Unlike IRL you will not gain anything by rushing things. If you really fear you will be late, turn off traffic offences and sleep, then you don't have to follow all traffic laws nor do you have to sleep. It saves a lot of time to get you ahead of time be a huge leap. 4. Expecting long trips get you the most money. This isn't always the case, in fact medium trips can be done more often and get there for more money. You don't have the IRL trouble that loading and unloading takes too long either nor is it added to your sleep time or time to travel. So no need to do long trips only. If you really need money do the medium trips a lot more often. (do check the profits you could get) 5. Before you drive off, get your map up and check the route. You can add some detours so you can get some extra km's if your time limit allows you to. Place markers along the way so you can see how long it takes to get to that map marker. For example the next border so you are aware of when you need to pay attention for that. 6. Checking the fuel is a must do, but refuel while having a job running so you can get financial compensation instead of only losing money. 7. Drive quick jobs for a long time, this way you don't need a loan and it saves you the pain of grinding out the money to repay that debt. You don't need to rush to get your own vehicle, quick jobs pays for fuel expenses which you own truck doesn't. Quick jobs also help you learn in multiple trucks how to drive better saving you the costs from wasting your own truck and needing to repair all the time. 8. Don't get yourself on TruckersMP unless you know how to drive properly. This saves you from ending up getting banned and it will make everyone happier that plays online. Also your accidents don't cause others delays or possibly end up with you crashing into someone as you already learned to look ahead to see what might be happening soon. 9. Don't blame others for everything. You wish to drive, so learn from your mistakes and improve your skills. 10. Don't stream unless you know how to drive. Yes it might get you more views if you proof to be a noob. But that name will remain with you forever unless you proof you can improve your skills rapidly. 11. Bridges can be too low, roads can be too narrow, corners can be too tight, etc. By exploring and learning how to drive properly you can keep in mind what situation you could encounter at what place. It will really help you out for the next time you arrive there. Perhaps even a detour might be easier to even avoid such situations. 12. Your dashboard tells you a lot of information, it is a very wise decision to learn what everything on there means instead of ignoring it. 13. It doesn't matter whether you have a steering wheel, keyboard or controller. If you drive like a noob and don't try to improve your skills you can not blame it on the controller of your choice. You in the end are the one that drives, not that controller. 14. Learning to reverse with just the truck, with trailer or even double trailer is a very smart thing to do. Specially if you accidentally ended up getting yourself in trouble. 15. Never reverse on a highway or drive the wrong direction. It is bad business, it costs money and on TruckersMP it obviously gets you banned. 16. Don't play bumper cars, its the wrong game for that.
Exploration absolutely yes, drive for those secondary roads once in a while, and maybe you'll find something... secret Anyway, after a while I deactivated the fines: I really want to do realistically, but traffic lights in the cities (for example 3 t.l. in a minute and everyone of them was red) and sleep management (yeah, realistic, but the map scale isn't good enough, having a sleep station every 2/3h can be job breaking) were killing me
Tip: use sim dashboard if you run out of keys. It's handy to set up a button dashboard or a navigator or a speed dashboard. Note: you get 3 free button if you want more you have to buy it. I think it was around 10 dollars. If you have bought it you can use multiple tablets or mutiple phones on the same account. Yes it works in mp
The first one is the main point. All my friend are driving around in fancy trucks while I have a low range one. But I'm earning the same amount from my other drivers as they are themselves. Also, if you run a light when it's just about to turn red, stop accelerating and brake a little, you only get fined if you accelerate through
Lights change if you speed in front of them to punish you and slow you down, system also used in some countries. Just turn off police tickets and speed limiter🤙
I've been playing this game for years and started a new game 2 weeks ago and started off with a small scania and bought a few more from there. I just bought a nice looking scania S with low cab as my 5th and I like restarting. I just buy what I want since it's bear impossible to go bankrupt or have any consequences
I am considering this game for my Steam Deck that is on the way. I loved Mudrunner and Snowrunner and hear many of my friends play ET2. I hop this will run well enough on the Deck. Brilliant video, it helped me understand what to look for when starting as a complete noob. Thanks 😊
Very nice tips, the only one I disagree with is regarding mods. Some of the physics mods improve the game VASTLY. Too big to ignore. The other mods, yeah I would argue that you can skip them at the beginning. Great video!
Yeah physics are much better now vanilla but how they were you felt like you were driving a big car so for some people that could be part of the problem and physics mods could’ve helped fix that.
Not Just in ETS2 but in other truck games as well. The last one was my most common mistake i made...(I am playing Truckers of Europe 3) Everything just Takes Time Before you getting used to it
After playing for several years, I find that playing the game in a less efficient way is better, because once you get to a point, money becomes too easy. I make up ways to handicap my business to keep it interesting.
You won't believe it but when I first played this I used to use 3rd person and in 1 month (30hrs or so) of gameplay I started using the cab camera. There's no need to look outta the window. The mirrors are perfect.
best way i learned how to park and drive with precision is playing old Scania sim learning doing the driver training and challenges. wish they re made it with the current ets workings and gfx
A good piece of beginner's advice is: if you can see too much trailer in the left mirror, turn the wheel to the left. If you can see too much trailer in the right mirror, turn the wheel to the right. That's what my instructor told me when i was learning to drive an artic in real life.
i don't fully agree with learning to reverse in 3rd person camera cause you'll add/learn to reverse with inverted controls essentially, which you'd have to unlearn again when trying it in 1st person. My tip for learning to reverse is to find a big open space (Ferry docks usually have it) and just practice reversing there in 1st person. Just fiddle around with it, try stuff. see how the trailers react to your input.
Thx for such great tips, even I have made several mistakes like shown here in the video XD. Usually reverse the truck to park the tralier is hardest for me, but even still I did not give up and continue trying until It manage to stop at the checkpoint but sometimes It takes literally 20 minutes for that.
Also you are dead right about player not exploring enough of map part. I keep seeing people complaining about lack of small roads bla bla bla but It is just that they didn't try to explore the map enough. They only take the route of what the map navigation said when delivering stuff(Since just like real life the GPS will most likely only tell the popular and major road). Why don't they try to use some detour by driving out of a highway. It is always a great experience If you try to drive out of the highway to the smaller roads(If those roads did connect to where you are supposed to go only)Also mostly the job section at the menu will also recommend usually the job from a company in the city only, making more of these challenging company acess less well known. Before anyone complain, make sure they explore the whole map first, even the king of highway Iberia DLC has some challenging company acess too.
back in the 1.32 days i used to always think of ets2 as some demolition derby racing game. Nowadays ets2 cant work on my laptop as its too poor performance and i dont even have like a good setup (steering wheel and all that) but i remember it was very fun back then. Of course last time i played on good pc before it got taken away i no longer made those mistakes.
Ah I plan on getting ETS2 I’d love to drive around all of Europe. I’m currently playing ATS and have yet to get 3 of the current states and then Texas and Montana coming out soon. I’m excited for them but I cannot wait to get ETS2. Tried the demo, loved it. Just have to buy it but I’m waiting so I can buy everything 😂 And tbh, I don’t know why anyone would turn of sleeping or skip parking the trailer…it takes away from the simulation lol
The mistake I made was being scared of taking a loan to afford a truck for myself or for my company to hire some drivers and give them trucks. I was literally doing this by typical MMO RPG way, grinding quick jobs with trucks given by a company I was hired in when I finally collected enough money to afford my dream truck. Now I know that I would do so much better, but I already got a huge company with best trucks and most garages upgraded, so I don't want to start all over again :D
For a game completely dedicated to trucking, I was surprised to see the handling characteristics, especially with the trailer, be so lacking. You can whip the truck around, swerving all the way left and right with no distrubance from the trailer. Things like body roll are seemingly unexistant. Hard braking in a tight corner is emotionless.
just adjust the physics sliders in the menu (maybe one more console command is needed not sure now) and it will work, by default the game is setup for keyboard players like me :), trust me when you adjust the sliders and use keyboard instead of a wheel you spend more time on your side than on the wheels :)
I was seriously considering getting a bank loan and using it to get drivers. But went against it due to me hating to pay interest. But after your video, I will have a rethink.
what he/she said about mods is kinda true because mods are only for costumising your truck or even having access to new trucks that are not in the game. But the only thing starters need to care about is to make money
YOUR A GOOD MONEY SAVER, i got a unlimited xp and money mod but it's better to save money by buying a low quality truck and keeping and saving the rest
Also it's more rewarding having to work for a certain truck upgrade or tuning you've been eyeing for a while. But that's just my opinion.
Same dude i earn like 10 million every 20 mins they also are on max lvl almost but some of them bugged and they do nothing
I don't always get a red light fine. There are some places where you don't get a fine when you pass a red light.
@@franciscope7141 speed cameras are realistic tbh and nowadays most of traffic lights have a camera
With the reversing I always taught myself to do it in first person cab view, I prefer it and I personally think it is better to learn that way, cause it taught me to go slow and use the mirrors as intended.
Same! For me a big part of it was to actually see the wheel (I use controller for now :(( ). When I tried to do it from a top view I accidentally used full strokes when it's mostly about small corrections
same and to take small steps. If the trailer is going off line just stop and reset the wheel. Moving too fast can ruin it.
Agreed,I could back up better in real after i started backing up in the cockpit in the game
🤣 There's a point where less is actually more. I felt that before as well, but now im entering the heavy customization again 😅✌
Totally agree! I used to always customise my trucks to the brim. But even getting back into the game, starting a new save. After I bought my first 6x2 I just switched it to 4x2 after a few loads. I find it really annoying to park. Can't even imagine what 8x4 and more feels like
@@NoZoDE Well, more axles do have a purpouse, in that one may legally carry heavier cargo. Also, just being able to safely do so in the first place.
@@NoZoDE 6x4?
Cheers all
Nice vid my friend
You seems enjoying this game as much as I do. My path is different in one thing: I ended up to collect die-cast trucks. I always have been a collector, but changed my focus because of ETS2. 🙂
I totally agree! I wish they reworked UK as well, but it's an awesome game indeed.
I want the heart of Russia DLC sooo badly :D
@@hedcase same as me. This is why I created my own hard economy mod.
@@matteojanczyk6036 is that available to download? I wouldn't have a clue how to do it myself .
A little tip for reversing, if you turn your view camera left enough your view will turn out the window, so you'll have a way better view of the left side
There's a bind for that camera angle
6:00 counterpoint:
Install at least bus traffic pack or other traffic packs to make traffic more diverse. It really doesn't look immersive if you see 3 EXACTLY SAME buses on the highway
Not wrong!
I think my favorite was that someone made a few star wars vehicles for ATS that I installed and completely forgot about and had to do a double take when I saw a landspeeder driving by one day after not playing it for a while
@@tezlaactual6582 😂😂😂
Good tips difference is gonna be small
@@lexpolis5266 Western Europe varies a little bit and I'm not sure id go far out of my way for that kind of difference, but if you have map dlcs then some of the Eastern countries are much, much cheaper, from memory the most extreme is that Russia is about a third of the cost of Sweden in game!
So if you are heading East and back again, remember to top your tanks up before coming back.
(Turkey, Bulgaria, Poland also noticeably cheaper than Western Europe, if people are avoiding supplying Russia in their game because {gestures} reasons.)
Having a truck with big tanks helps magnify the effect, if you're doing long East West runs and can get in the habit of only having to fuel at the East end of the run you will save quite a bit.
I just fill up at the nearest gas station when it's in the red or if I have to sleep at a gas station i fill it up
I'm a og player and i never did that. Thanks. I'll try to pay more attencion in that
Thats too much calculations, the fuel is pretty affordable anyway
One month ago, I needed this video, now I explored like 60%of the map, and get a lesson by all mistakes I made, and you of course showed them today! Good video! Hope it helps a lot! Keep making this type of content!
Hello fellow Robloxian and ETS 2 enjoyer
As a Veteran that plays this game over 7 years I wanna say that this guide is great. 👍
Thank you buddy! I also have been around for quite some time too
When I started playing ETS2, I started doing short jobs and after some time I borrowed money and bought my Scania R with a 360 horsepower engine and low cab.
This is what I hate about quick jobs. Jumping through the world, no time passes...
@@blacktiger114 Not sure if it effects quick jobs, but maybe if you turn on time zones in the options..? Haven’t tried myself, maybe it doesn’t effect it at all, but worth a try I guess…
@@Sponge1310 I think it will only affect the time shown on the clock, not affect the passage of time from one quick job to another
@@blacktiger114 You could simply start from the city you left from, as if you are a nomad who takes jobs from companies.
love this game.. i asked a real truck driver about parking the trailer he said if you want it to go left turn your wheel right now i do it like a boss . never had a bank , loan just made my own cash and worked on it . i must admit i don't explore the map as much as i should . great vid love the music
Iìií
The game is simply too shallow to simulate the usage of certain trucks for certain jobs. It's best to use a low-medium powered 4x2 or 6x2/4 midlift for regular box cargo but there's no point in not doing so- fuel might as well be free and more complex configurations aren't any more expensive to maintain/repair.
Hell i drive this run with a Mercedes NG 1619 with 16 gear manual trans 😅😅😅
Especially the "let your driver drive the first truck" set up is a good tip. This way you start to train your drivers as early as possible which will make them more profitable later on. Also, don't be affraid to sack a driver, as some are better as others.
But keep in mind, getting billions of dollars is pointless, both from a gameplay perspective and a transportation business perspective.
Now we can talk about trucks:
Till here we've taken already €180.000 to one garage.
I do this already but just to keep the “tiny” garage lol
@@stephenmartin5766 yeah, like to maintain your originality hahahaha
@@douglasmedeiros3398 yeah plus you can’t buy the tiny one lol
Better yet, get cheapest truck you can find and strip anything (I think IVECO was [is?] cheapest). Your AI driver won't mind hauling 25 tons with 300 hp engines, but I bet you do. After a few months (in game) you'll have more garage and trucks than you care to do and you can just buy garage as space to keep your collection in places
@@benywidodo That's a fact!
Here is some tips for people struggling with backing:
•Turn to the problem.
That's a pretty good explaination :)
I could back up those HCT's I was soo proud xD - although it is just a game ^^
@@dbclass4075 which place has cheap fuel?
Everyone should change the GPS option to use secondary roads only, even tho I takes longer, it will be a nicer road to drive and see the surroundings.
How do I do that?!
@@toadintheh0le got to settings>>gamemode> navigation mode. You can pick small roads or shorter to explore the game more
Hey man, is it Preferred job length or? What is the option name? Thanks in advance!
Sound mods is a must have, even for beginners.
Kinda true. Low key I agree 👀🤫
My worst nightmare parking im good at it but im always stering wrong way
G'day Milan,
trying to catch up on quite a few of the vids I missed during a busy & overwhelming time,
As until recently I was only playing with the Original ETS2 I have to admit I have always just been busy doing the driving & never bothered expanding the business with extra trucks & drivers, but now I expanded with some bundles that include the new Cargo Packs plus expanding my map to include France, Italy, Baltic & Black Seas as they were 70% off I'll have to look into expanding the business too.
1:53 "And I am running out of keybord keys" yep so many great fun & useful features that we are going to need an extra keypad,
After getting back into playing lots with my new gaming PC last year, I upgraded from a FX6300 + R9 270X to a R3 3300X + RX580, I am really enjoying your videos & they have been a big help finding those useful settings.
Other mistakes newbies would do:
* Not paying attention to the delivery time of the cargo: If playing with fatigue enabled, it's very important to manage your stops, do too many and you will arrive late, check your time with F6 or in the menu to see if you can rest this time or not, no matter how big that time left looks, you have to manage your rest stops or you'll be late.
This was my first mistake. I lost so much money for late delivery 😂
You talkin bout accidents where the road is blocked off? Just act privileged and drive past them. Never got a fine for it
@@MegaMaurice2001 Major accidents have invisible barrier blocking the whole road. No driving past that.
@@Alpostpone that sucks
@@Alpostpone i've even gone through a helicopter landing in the highway. just drive at the very edge of the road
The music in this video totally gives out ETS 2 vibe , not gonna lie.
I would advise using in-game radio or some streaming platform to listen to when driving for long play sessions. It can get really dull!
i absolutely love ets and have 2k+ h in the game ^^
there is nothing more relaxing than sitting down after a hard day of work and driving one of my trucks on country roads while enjoying the scenery sometimes alone and sometimes with friends :3
i actually turned on my fatigue setting so i have to calculate where i have to make my breaks so i can deliver as efficiently as possible x3
You guys know tramerie right the narrow company i love parking there the most because i actually reverse my truck from the outside into my parking spot ^^
I broke the mods one only slightly, because I wanted straight piped scania v8 noises. But that was years ago. This video is pretty bang on
This video is really good.
I love AI traffic mods, and they're never harmful, even for beginners 😁 Default traffic doesn't have much cars and brands.
Now my trucks look a lot better because i dont have a million lights on my grille now
Me too lol, my limit is 6x4 long
I still put 2-4 lights on bull bar cause going to Balkan without additional lights is a bit annoying. But yeah less is more
Well, there are legal reasons why 6x2, 6x4 and 8x4 exist.
@@Alpostpone i drive 40 tona with a mercedes NG 190 HP manual trans no problem 😅
Keep it up you got this in the bag just like me
stupid car dependant country
I made a lot of newbie mistakes. I did take a loan and went all in with the best Volvo truck I could get. Needless to say, I worked on my own to pay the debt but I managed anyway. Maybe that's okay too, play your own way, right? What I am missing is enjoying the sights. I convoy with my husband and he drives real fast. But when I see picture icon, we stop so I get to take our photos!
6:06 say that who downloaded PM on the 2nd day of trucking because "I was bored and I wanted to open a HQ in Sarajevo..." well, guess who's dreams came true :D
I can't wait for PM 2.61 !
[Laughs in West Balkans]
Another common thing is players don't think about their trailer when turning and end up stuck on the inner guard rail or they drive the trailer through a ditch because they took the corner too tight
Agreed. Especially whenever you drive extra long trailers. Even a low loader can give you issues on tight turns
I made the mistake of upgrading my truck but thanks to your tip, i’ll get a loan, upgrade my garage and get some drivers
I add one more item, adjust your seat, steering and mirrors. Especially when you take a quick job, you will find your seat is always in an awkward position with different trucks. Try to adjust the height so that it is not too high you cannot see the traffic lights, or too low you cannot see the road for safety judgement. Shift front or back so that you can see part of the dashboard and one of the side mirror.
from first-hand experience: if you are tired irl, dont drive
you crash a lot
The first time i have been here! I'm impressed! I really enjoy this style of videos!
I've just downloaded the demo two days ago. Still getting the hang of it. These are useful tips, thanks.
Glad it was helpful! Have fun
Sure, but when you switch trucks it will most likely feel refreshing
I restarted ETS2 and ATS recently as I was getting more money than I could spend from drivers. I'm actually having lots of fun building up the Company again. Level 7 and one hired driver so far :)
I still remember my beginner days of spending stupid amounts of money on expensive paintjobs, auxiliary lights and all............
Now I just keep my trucks cosmetically stock, although I have found the 6x4 chassis to be a decent balance between normal and heavy cargo, so I used that in pretty much everything I drive, when available
I also decided to challenge myself by driving a bone-stock Stralis with the 310hp engine, and boy that was quite something indeed
Glad I was able to help! Thanks for the feedback and good luck on your journey!
1:57 me too bro. Devs add so many new functions yet almost all of the keys in my keyboard are taken. Honestly, I kinda wish they would stop adding more functions and start focusing on the rest of the game itself.
True.
Nice video.
Thanks for the first one, tbh i didn't seen much use in loans as i spend it on my truck and customizing it, tysm bro
Some other noob mistakes:
(do check the profits you could get)
Exploration absolutely yes, drive for those secondary roads once in a while, and maybe you'll find something... secret
Anyway, after a while I deactivated the fines: I really want to do realistically, but traffic lights in the cities (for example 3 t.l. in a minute and everyone of them was red) and sleep management (yeah, realistic, but the map scale isn't good enough, having a sleep station every 2/3h can be job breaking) were killing me
Tip: use sim dashboard if you run out of keys.
Also, if you run a light when it's just about to turn red, stop accelerating and brake a little, you only get fined if you accelerate through
I used to spent tons of money on parts once I get a new truck. Now I just keep em factory stock and money isn't an issue now lol
Lights change if you speed in front of them to punish you and slow you down, system also used in some countries. Just turn off police tickets and speed limiter🤙
Is this really implemented in game? I thought the lights were only turned on other lights based on timing
Thanks for the feedback. Also it is not a bad idea, since it will improve the truck phyics. Thanks!
I'm not sure how much realistic the game is, but it would make sense to use diesel trucks to haul heavy goods and gasoline trucks for light stuff
You won't believe it but when I first played this I used to use 3rd person and in 1 month (30hrs or so) of gameplay I started using the cab camera. There's no need to look outta the window. The mirrors are perfect.
They are, but if you're reversing a HCT for example, the mirrors in certain situations are not enough
Thank you for another brilliant video
1:17 Thanks for the tip now I can deliver any Cargo I want and its not important to focus on the time
nice video, most beginner players do these nonsense things, its better to start from the bottom and work your way up
best way i learned how to park and drive with precision is playing old Scania sim learning doing the driver training and challenges. wish they re made it with the current ets workings and gfx
A good piece of beginner's advice is: if you can see too much trailer in the left mirror, turn the wheel to the left. If you can see too much trailer in the right mirror, turn the wheel to the right. That's what my instructor told me when i was learning to drive an artic in real life.
I agree 100% on the traffic light issue…happened to me sooo many times
Ye, still happens to me to this day 😐
i don't fully agree with learning to reverse in 3rd person camera cause you'll add/learn to reverse with inverted controls essentially, which you'd have to unlearn again when trying it in 1st person.
@@cheeyun9526 What I'd do is mark each roads I wanna go during my driving and try to turn the grey areas into yellow color.
@@vurhn2009 True It always feels satisfying to see the road turn from grey to yellow while you are exploring new roads XD
Nice Video Bro👍👍👍
Great video for newcomers, like it!!
back in the 1.32 days i used to always think of ets2 as some demolition derby racing game.
Just have to buy it but I’m waiting so I can buy everything 😂
And tbh, I don’t know why anyone would turn of sleeping or skip parking the trailer…it takes away from the simulation lol
im new to this game and ive done every one of these except for worrying about mods and trying to get best truck as soon as i can
The mistake I made was being scared of taking a loan to afford a truck for myself or for my company to hire some drivers and give them trucks.
Well, you can only do so much in the current game engine
Nice Video!!❤️
I was seriously considering getting a bank loan and using it to get drivers. But went against it due to me hating to pay interest. But after your video, I will have a rethink.
what he/she said about mods is kinda true because mods are only for costumising your truck or even having access to new trucks that are not in the game. But the only thing starters need to care about is to make money
The traffic lights one is so so so so so so so true man, it turns red every time
Facts 🤣🤣
The slow parking thing is something I tell people all the time. You gotta go slow to go fast.
It’s a game peeps! Have fun with it, play it how you want! Oh yeah!
YOUR A GOOD MONEY SAVER, i got a unlimited xp and money mod but it's better to save money by buying a low quality truck and keeping and saving the rest
1:03 Halina P. :D that is a easter egg for Halina Pawlowská :D
After 610h in this game, I decided to start a new profile. Feels fresh, and I'm enjoying it a lot :)
True!
