  • Syd Little and Eddie Large with sketches and music, first broadcast on Saturday February 24, 1990. With special guests Living in a Box and Bonnie Langford. The intro is missing, but I believe this to be pretty much complete.

The great thing about Eddie was that he always told you the name of the next person he would Impersonate, otherwise nobody would have known.

I'd love hear Syd say "I absorbed all the energy of the time vortex and no one's meant to do that..."

Before she cut her hair, Bonnie should have been in a live-action version of The Little Mermaid; with John Stamos as Prince Eric.

"I'm Bonnie." "I know, but you're blocking my view!" Priceless! Thanks for uploading; who guest-starred on the other episodes of the series?
The blonde girl in the deckchair, in the previous sketch, is bonny, too.

My parents and I loved watching Little & Large back in the 1980s and I used to videotape their BBC comedy shows from 1986 through to 1991 but then as a child and a young teenager back then I was easily pleased. Now their comedy looks dated and something from another era just like that of the likes of the Krankies and the Grumbleweeds. The 'Megamixes' at the end of their 1991 series were cringeworthy to watch.

Yeah I had a similar experience. I will say though it was definitely of a different time even when it first aired. End of the pier, old british seaside postcard humour - something you'd sit and watch with your gran. Back then you had Hale and Pace, Smith and Jones etc that were a lot more entertaining to watch and probably hold up much better today. The long form sketches were quite hard to sit through I'd admit although the quick ones did make me chuckle, even though you can see the gag from a mile away.

Little and Large - the BBC poor replacement for Morecambe and Wise. I have no idea how the British public ever warmed to these two. Totally unfunny. Maybe their humour was simply not made for me, but you can see why the BBC axed their show in the following year 1991.

Yeah, cancelled after 11 series, what a flop!

@@whatsonthetapes Oh I sense a bit of sarcasm in your tone. Now you may have enjoyed it, but I just didn't get their humour. I am a huge fan of Morecambe and Wise, Two Ronnies, I just never saw the appeal of Little and Large, sorry, I can't change that.

I don't really have any strong feelings about them either way - bits of this tickled me, but for the most part they were just a little bit before my time. I was five years old when this went out! You can't change what you like, but it just baffles me when people put the energy into posting a comment to rip into things like this... All cool though :)

@@whatsonthetapes You were five when you saw this? Only a child could find this shlock entertaining. The Little & Large Show ran for eleven years because the Beeb couldn't come up with anything better to replace it. Why do you think the tacky Doctor Who ran for twenty-six years? There is a certain morbid, self-masochistic pleasure to be derived from enduring something as inferior as this piss poor attempt at comedy, which was so dated it belonged on the stage of an Edwardian era fleapit. Eldorado became popular because it was so bad viewers enjoyed laughing at it. Lame humour that might have been written for CBBC, Eddie Large's hideous 'impersonations', Sid Little's wooden lack of stage charisma, all work together to make an atrocity to comedy which is worth laughing at for the wrong reasons. And just when you think it can't get any worse, up pops Bonnie Langford.
