- Ascending the Throne is a Newzroom Afrika documentary covering the two-year journey of King Misizulu's ascension to the AmaZulu throne.
Set against the backdrop of a nation mourning the late king, the sudden death of Queen Regent Mantfombi, and divisions in the royal family that resulted in court cases as well as the emergence of two rivals to the crown, Ascending the Throne isn’t just a story - it is history.

Thank you, Newsroom Afrika, for this documentary. I watch a lot of documentaries about the British Royals, the Catholic church, the Roman Empire, etc., and I have always wondered why South Africa doesn't tap into this. We have so many stories to tell, and our history has to be documented. I am looking forward to seeing documentaries of this nature.
We needed this kind of Documentary. Thanks Newsroom Afrika Crew

I wish there was a mention of Queen Mayisela, because her presence was very crucial in the King's ascendance to the throne.
She will be definitely mentioned in apropriate time as she is truly playing the great role❤️

Greed and self-interest is ugly.
This women knew how the world of the Zulu nation operate.
The order of thr day is customary.
The king and the common men would have more then one wife.Even some traditional
Societies would have situations like this.
Customs would make the final say.
Customary laws is the order of the day.
Long live the king.Misizulu Zulu the Zulu king of the Zulu nation.

Why upload 360p in 2022? haven't heard of FHD and UHD screens?
you speak as though you are entitled... as if you paid
One can only speak of what they know.In terms of f death one must be given an opportunity to die and resurrect then we know it would be a substantive statement not assumptions cultural people like assumptions.
Which person died then came back, stop talking nonsense if you don't believe in other people beliefs that's ok but you don't have the right to tell them what to believe just cause you don't believe it.its your choice not to believe just like is their choice to believe.
Ignorant people are always loud
Substantiate on what you have experienced period!!! Assumptions are never accurate.Stop telling yourselves lies!!!
@@dollymngadi7203 stop throwing tantrums just because we have a different view.
Which person died?? seriously 💁I know one you are breathing from!I know at least three people who have experienced it.Get it right. wisdom is needed here
Women have always caused confusion in the Zulu kingship from the time of Shaka the great
