when putting down palm trees like you did you can make a 3 by 3 square around it, then put the custom design back on top. that way you don't have the grass edge and it blends in nicely

Girlie you never fail to make any of us smile. My birthday was yesterday! It started well but realising having 10 people for a sleepover was not good. I got a huge rash from grass and there were a lot of fights, it was still super fun tho. I'm. Watching this after they left and already am smiling and feeling happy.

Maybe for the transition to the Everglades it could be a like a nature reserve and you could put some fences for like a little viewing area and just leave a couple open tiles so it’s still walkable

You can make the palm trees look more natural by making 1x2-4 “gardens” blocked off by the steel face item. That way the space in the patch is more natural and intentional.

You honestly did such a good job!! I dont think kicking off the design is weird for the palm tree but you can always put fencing around each tree like a lil cage for it

For the left side area, you should definitely do the Disney World theme. I've seen so many people it flawlessly and it would transition really well from Miami!
We recently went on a cruise and I was in awe of those beautiful buildings in downtown Miami! I think you did a great job! You definitely need a lot of boats on the beach near your “city” to represent the cruise ships!
idk if this is too hard to execute on acnh but you can transition it into the Wynwood area (aka the art district in miami) or if you want to include the museum as the transition like you said in the video theres a popular museum called the Frost Museum thats in between the downtown area and miami beach area and u can base it off that as well! That muesum has always kind of reminded me of the animal crossing museum especially the sea life section!
I love this build! I was thinking maybe after ables is placed, you could put tangy’s restaurant (if it’s still being brought back). This could help transition tropical into city and vice versa. Love your videos froggy! 🐸💕

For the Publix, if you don't want to use your house because you have other plans for it, you could make a new island character to be the "Publix manager" and have their house be it!

It may not be the sun bleaching the roads, but you might just have white roads! Those are a thing and it's to help with keeping the inner city cool. Blacktop roads will hold and contain the heat, whereas whitetop roads reflect it. There's a whole bunch of videos that show the temperature differences between whitetop roads and blacktop roads.

as someone from halfway across the world i have no idea what a publix is, but if it's some kind of shop, I think it would be cool to make your house a mall or something and have different rooms as different shops, maybe your entranceway could be a food court or something!

Florida also has heaps of sea turtle nesting beaches! 🐢 You should definitely have a turtle nesting beach with hatchlings crawling down the beach!!

It’s a cockroach, if there is one in your house and a villager comes over then the villager will get scared or be disgusting by it and leave

Idk if you were looking for suggestions/input on the Publix build. I’d keep it either as a villager (risky they are IN their house for a dream address. Is your grandma still on this island with a small house? But you don’t need bigger than villager house to get the point across!
But!! For your house I think you could dress it up like the magic kingdom with the warp pipe as the entrance idea. Each room can be themed to each park (Hollywood, fairy tale, jungle, and world showcase or futuristic) and you can use all the outdoor wallpaper they gave us. And the attic could be the fireworks wallpaper+show and the basement could be the “hidden” service tunnels. Costumes on the wall, break area, etc
I think scale is also really important when you’re overwhelmed. It’s a BIG island, but you have lots of ideas. Just a little touch here and there will get the whole point through. Trust the less is more motto - not in overall design/development, but just when you’re overwhelmed. Is a villager house enough space? Well the items for groceries are kinda small and you’ll use a lot of those items multiple times. You can do less to achieve what you want. But only when what you want is too stressful at a big scale
