Boy, the legend is getting on now. An out and out champion of the Swans footy club.....and my childhood hero. I absolutely love Bobby and am not looking forward to the day when he's no longer with us. Go well Skilts.
The memories watching Skilton running around on the old, much loved ground, The brownlow medal night appearance on TV ringside with his black eyes. Even " it's buttery nuttery dad" and Skilts in the four n twenty bus with Jack Dyer and Lou Rìchards. So much of my childhood taken up with idolising Bob Skilton. John Heriot was pretty good too
Always so great to see the legends with the boys, give them a bit of extra motivation to play better ❤

People, I feel sorry for Swans fans who never had the pleasure of watching that man play.
There is no joy quite like watching Bobby Skilton in full flight. Yes I love all the star players who have come since, and it is great to watch Errol, Chad, Isaac and the rest of the boys.
Bobby was something else. An extremely tough player that other players would bounce off him like nine pins, but never with elbows raised and was unscrupulously fair. That's why he was one of only four players to win the, FAIREST and best Brownlow medal three times.
Having had the pleasure of meeting the man, there is no more thorough gentleman than Bobby. He loved his fans and would always give them the time of day.
If you want to know what an absolute champion looks like, you have just seen one in this video. To me Bobby Skilton is absolute royalty. 🦢🦢🦢
PS, I love watching Tom Papley play, and he gets it from his grandfather, Max Papley, an absolute magician.
Please dont forget his other grandfather Jeff Bray. Strong, courageous and very skilfull. We never saw the best of him at South because of his injuries but a legend at West Adelaide and playing for SA.

For the old Bloods from South, if there is a football God, just one more flag this year before we get taken off this footy field of life. Some of us like Bobby are no longer playing in the last quarter but in time on. Go Bloods.

Onya bobby guess he was talking to Tom papley at the end about max.
I mentioned that in my main comment. Tom's grandfather, Max Papley was an absolute magician. I've heard Bobby say that before that Max was the best player he's ever seen. 🦢🦢🦢

He was so good that he brought the grandstand to their feet when he had the ball, but the great man Skilton was the best I saw.Jeff Bray Tommy's other grandfather was a very good footballer also at CHB tough and skilful. Jeff Bray was a champion from SA. Lot of him in Tom also.
