Gabos! I been watching you since Purdys 1st game last season. As a diehard, life long 49ers fan, youre right. Any one who watches the tape and isnt a hater should be able to ser that he is elevating the whole system.
Purdy is 1st in passer rating
1st in passing tds
1st in td to int
1st in td per attempts
1st in yards per attempt
1st in wins
And last time i checked, he was 1st in QBR and 3rd in passing yards. If this man was picked in the first or second round, they would be putting him in the Mahomes and Hurts conversation, but because of his pick, it's the system, not him. Make it make sense.

What's even crazier is he could also be the comeback player of the year since he literally tore his UCL in January of this year but no one even brings up his injury at all

You're not wrong about the touchdown throw to Deebo. Hurtz threw one like this in the Philadelphia game as one of their few touchdowns and I remember saying " that is truly a top skill throw and if/when Purdy makes a throw like this there can be no denying he is a top notch quarterback ". And there it is. Heard.
One thing that I think most people are forgetting to mention about Purdy is that this is his first full season. He’s still improving every game and is only going to get better!
49ers oline is top 3 run block, but bottom 10 pass protecting. And he is passing his ass off. Super impressive. I said last year, kid reminds me of Joe Cool. Never shakes, never scared, shifty, runs to pass, reads fast as hell, can make any throw you need and accurately, on time, footwork...

No one can touch them, except injuries. Even Purdy got shoulder checked and was out for 2 downs. He had trouble getting up.

SF o-line is ranked 22nd in the league.. Purdy is just making them look better by making good decisions and getting rid of the ball quickly. When Trent Williams was out against the Vikings and Bengals, the o-line ranked 32nd in the league but Purdy still completed 70% of his passes but there were a lot of drops by Aiyuk and fumbles by CMC.

This should be pinned. Their pass block is middle of the pack at best, but normally is bottom 10. Brock's decision making is making them look better than it really is.

Remember you riding with Purdy since he came into the starting roll during Miami game last year! Gotta be honest I didn’t think of anything when they drafted Purdy I was like oh this is interesting (assumed he was going to be qb2 bc we all know Garoppolo was outta there). It took me a while to get used to Purdy and I’m fully bought in after week 1 of this season. Sometimes I worry because I’m so used to our Niners QB leaving with a dramatic injury like I witness since 97 and every season until this season! I’ve had Niners QB PTSD since childhood when Steve young went down in 97 week 1 man it’s been a revolving door since. I’m fully bought into Purdy idc what haters say!
The biggest reason a lot of quarterbacks couldn't do as well as Purdy, even if you think they're a better quarterback, is because that's not how they play football. For Purdy and the 49ers, it's quite literally a match made in heaven. Kyle Shanahan has found his quarterback, the perfect quarterback for the system that he runs. I mean, that's exactly what he wanted. He doesn't need somebody that goes off script at the drop of a hat and stuff like that, but yet, he still has someone that can extend the play when he has to. The fact that he's not asked to is part of the system; the fact that he can is all Purdy. The precision, the accuracy, the footwork, the reads-again, all Purdy. Pushing the ball down the field, all Purdy. Yes, this is within the system, but it's the perfect system for him and the way he plays, and vice versa.
I love to listen to people who know what the fuk they are talking about. Dude you have my respect on this reaction. You truly understand the game, I love that....

This game was awesome to attend. The place was literally a "Home" game for the 49ers given the overwhelming presence of 49er fans in the stands. The Cardinal fans were seriously outnumbered.

I just want to say that Purdy is top candidate for MVP with it being his first season as a starter and second year in the league. His processing of defense’s is elite level. Listen to Greg Cosell. He’s been breaking down film for 40 years. He didn’t think much of BP coming out of Iowa State. Best SF QB since Steve Young.

Its a generational difference. It used to be rooting for the unlikely hero and celebrating their struggle to the top. Today, its nitpicking because Brock does not fit the narrative they’ve been feeding the fans. When Kurt Warner came into the league, undrafted, playing the CFL, and bagging groceries before the Rams called, he torched the league with his passes. Won the SuperBowl and was the feel good story of the season. Brock is on a similar road but his story is just beginning.

Drafted last… why? …because his skill set is the skill set of a classic pure quarterback, Great leadership skills. Can’t quantify that. Extremely hard worker who is serious about his business. Can’t quantify that either. Extremely coachable. Can’t quantify that. Extremely calm in the pocket and maintains great footwork. Not valued by analysts and scouts. Throws an extremely catchable ball with great pace. Scouts like the rocket pass in every situation. Don’t care that they result in drops.
I could go on and on. Inspires confidence in his teammates. Big Trent, the OG of the entire NFL loves this dude and has from the jump. Earned the respect of Big Suge as a little white dude who looks like he should still be in high school. Think about that. Trent is down with Purdy. I bet he chose Purdy over Trey. How did he do that? Guys who never played trying to tell me Trent Williams doesn’t know football and that they know talent more than him. Go say to his face if you really believe that. And have someone record it too!

Connor isn’t overrated, he’s overlooked. But not by any 49er fan. Back in the Jimmy g days, when the cardinals went to San Fran, Connor was pretty much the only true starter in that game… and he was the reason the 49ers lost. Connor was unstoppable.

With all the Cam Newton talk lately, there was literally someone in one of the ESPN shows last week that said they haven't seen Purdy making those tight shots on the edges in the endzone, and that's the reason why he's just a "game manager".

I just wanna add to, based off your reaction, what I love so much about PURDY isn’t just his ability to read defenses- it’s how he hits his boys in stride. That’s a real talent no one talks about.
Purdy is #1 qb with yards per attempt in 2023. With 9.6 yrds/per attempt. So,if he is a "game manager" or a "dink & dunk qb" 9 qb's was under Purdy. Like mahomes, allen,Burrow etc were 9.5 and below.

Niners oline pass protection is bottom half in the league it’s like 22nd or 24th somethin like that. Purdy makes a large amount of their plays from getting the ball out quick or escaping the pocket

Uh just to clarify the 49ers O-line was ranked #22 in pass protection last year...give Purdy more love on what he does...The O-line was bottom half of the league in 2023.
Murray would not perform nearly as well as Brock does because Kyler can't read defenses the way Brock can and he certainly doesn't process nearly was fast...I have seen Brock get to his 4th read on plays that he has 3 seconds to throw.....Even Mahomes doesn't do that as well as Purdy.

You’re not hatin’ but a lot of people were. For the reason you mentioned, because he was Mr. Irrelevant. They were all waiting for the downfall. It didn’t come. Trey Lance was supposed to be better and couldn’t do it, tho he did get injured. Jimmy G struggled in this very same offense. Yes, he won games, but rarely had 300+ yard games, with usually only 1 touchdown. Same players, plus CMC, and this kid is lighting it up!
Personally, I think the weak link is Kyle. Yes, he’s a great offensive mind. But something doesn’t add up as a head coach. This offense should be even better and I think Kyle overthinks it. I don’t think he should call plays. An OC would still use Kyle’s system but could tweak the things that maybe don’t work well. Just my opinion, which doesn’t mean much.

I agree that nobody other than Matt Ryan has put up these numbers with Kyle. It’s a complicated offense but Purdy understands it so well. Hoyer, Beathard, Garropolo, Mullens, Lance, Johnson and Darnold couldn’t do it as good. Not to mention he beat out the original 3rd string QB in training camp. Jimmy G was successful but not putting up these numbers. Gotta give Purdy his props

I recently found you and started watching your videos ( last couple days). Love the content! I just ask that you don’t fall into the trap everyone sets for Brock Purdy about his “ size” being a weakness. It’s complete bullshit because he’s only an inch shorter than mahomes and nobody questions his height. I can respect the way mahomet plays but one thing we realize is he often fakes ankle sprains and I’m guessing it’s for dramatic reasons 🤷♂️. But case in point one game the pocket collapse caused him to run on it and he was fast! He got taken down and when he got up was limping ( as expected). Two downs later he scrambled and threw on the run making an awesome pass BUT as he turned to go back to the huddle he limped again but on the other ankle. That injury was the talk of the league for the entire next week. The next game was the same, he was limping on the wrong ankle twice and everyone I was with noticed it. High ankle sprain are actually pretty painful, no way that dude played on one.

I don't really think our losses were due to injury. I think it had more to do with the defense (and special teams...ahem- Moody). Defense just didn't show up those days. Although I'm sure those players injured would've helped if they were in. Especially Trent, since the rest of the o-line is a bit lacking. If there's a weakness on offense, it's the o-line.
Charvarius Ward has been very impressive the entire season, but against the Cards, the kid really balled out, with 2 picks. The kid is a rising star on defense IMO.
