- This is one of my favourite drut bandishes of Pt. Bhimsen Joshi. This recording is from a private baithak at Pune recorded in May 1979. Preceded by Raag Megh Malhar vilambit ektaal "Garaje Ghata Ghana Ghana" and succeeded by Usatd Amir Khan Raag Ramdasi Malhar "Chaye Badariya Kahi Kahi" then we had Gara Thumri a long version of about 30 minutes "Jadu Bhareli Kaun Albeli Ke Naar" and ended with Khansaheb's "Jamuna Ke Teer"

Undoubtedly Raag Sughrai
Dear sir, I've dropped the raag name from the description and title. But anyway this raga is labelled as suha sughrai only na?
Magic of the 60's, 70's. Look at the tonal quality of Panditji, there is no saptak, no sur, no place where he can't reach. Simply Divine ! Thanks a million Bhimmanna ji for posting this Gem ! Pranaam to the Maestro ! 🙏

Lovely share, Gandhar. This is mostly known as Suha aka Suha Kanada. As Devansh and I were discussing Bhimsen ji has often combined a vilambit in Raga A and drut in Raga B. For ex., his Darbari-Suha LP, his Chhaya-Chhaya Malhar LP, his commercial release of Nat Malhar-Gaud Malhar, his 1992 Baroda concert where he combines Bageshri anga Nayaki Kanada with Suha Kanada. In fact if I am not mistaken, he has also combined Poorvi vilambit and a Puriya Dhanashree tarana on occasion.
Also combined Megh vilambit with Suha drut, which is why one may be led to think this is Megh. Megh usually does not have the clear SRgMMnP (su-na-a-a-i de-e) in this bandish and has a very powerful R which is lacking here.

Hi, this bandish is in Raga Suha Kanada. Has been sung by him many times!

I've heard him sing raag suha kannada but the bandish used to be different. One was " tu hai Mohammad shah" and one more different bandish.

Not convinced. The suha kannada I've heard had different wordings.
