    Notice Seedorf is in that cl Ajax winning team - he is one of the most underrated players of all time. Strong, technically astute, could play long pirlo like through balls with ease, he had it all and won the champions league 5 times and is the only player ever to do it with 3 different clubs. It's odd he's not talked about more

    Ajax did not buy great players, they created them themselves! One year before they already lost Bergkamp to Inter.
    You can't compare this to clubs like real madrid, who bought Zidane,Figo,Beckham, Ronaldo etc. etc. etc. How can you be proud on that?
    Few years later Reiziger, Overmars, Kluivert, Litmanen, F. de Boer, R. de Boer all played for Barcelona, they simply bought them. What if Ajax had the money to keep these players for years. they will have won the CL more than Madrid had won now.
    Maybe not the best, but sure the most unique and talented team ever.

      While he's still in his prime Pep has the responsibility to achieve as much as he can with his talents, after City he'll probably try and win the CL with PSG and then the same with Juve or maybe one of the Milan teams if they're back by then. He's competitive and genuinely loves the game though, so in like 10-12 years I can see him winding down at a lower league team and trying to help them out, possibly Brescia in Italy, one of his old playing clubs.

    Kluivert in his teens and early 20s was ridiculously good, after that not so much. But forever a hero to Ajax fans including myself because of this goal he scored against Milan in the 1995 final. I have that goal engraved in my mind, Rijkaard surging from defence to feed the ball to Kluivert, who does a clever turn instead of a return pass and then finishes neatly. And then the iconic image of young Kluivert in tears as he lifts the CL trophy... can never forget that.

      The Bosman arrest finished football. Before that every club couldnt field more then 3 or 4 foreigners. Ofcourse this was against european law so it had to end, but it did kill football imo. Minor leagues see their talents go to england before their 18th. This way its no longer possible to win the cl if you dont play in the english, german, italian, frenc and spanish league. Before that time you had super talented generations from smaller countries rise to the top, like this Ajax or Red Star etc. Not zzzz domination from the money.

      He also needs time to build it to his vision. If you take LVG you must have your full trust in him. LVG used to be a PE teacher and if you give him driven and motivated young players, he will form them and make them go beyond them selfs. LVG can hypnotise a team to win but you cant have any divas that break that hypnoses. Thats why he mostly prefers young players and he also can make them play on different positions.

    If it’s about the best ucl European team in history then first of all it has to be Real Madrid who won the same amount of ucls in the last 5 years as Ajax have in their entire history and secondly it would either be Madrid’s 1955-1960 ucl team who won five in a row or Madrid’s 2014-2018 ucl team who won 3 in a row and 4 in 5 years whilst facing tougher teams in the final and throughout the competition. Also they had the most successful ucl player of all time (Ronaldo) who has the most ucl trophies, goals and assists ever. Of course if this includes domestic achievements then other arguments can be made but if its just Europe Madrid is the only deserving winner of this.

    • @MrVIP1993
      @MrVIP1993 5 років тому +1

      Sam Geee You can’t mention R Madrid 2015-2018 as the best team in European history if they weren’t even dominating their own league. How can you be the best in Europe if you’re not the best in Spain? Makes no sense. Man Utd 1999 (treble), Ayax 95 (Never lost a game in their league or CL), Barca 2009 (won the treble). These teams that I mentioned dominated on all fronts.
      People need to remember that the CL is a knock out competition and you don’t need to be the best team in Europe to win it, see Chelsea 2012, Liverpool 2005. Even Inter 2010; Pep’s Barca were a better team than them but Inter still managed to get the better of them over 2 legs using dodgy tactics in the 2nd leg.

  • @cddb5408
    @cddb5408 5 років тому +2

    No the Dutch league isn't that high in quality. I remember whenever I saw games in that league it was slow pace. Not much closing down, everyone is allowed more time on the ball etc...Technically it should be a team like ManUtd 2007/08 as they won 3 PL's in a row 06/07, 07/08, & 08/09. When they lost in the semi-finals of 06/07 Champions league 5-3 on aggregate to ACmilan they went on to lift 3 Premier league titles before they lost another champions league game. 25 Champions league games unbeaten on top of all the other things they were winning. So consistent, nearly won back-to-back champions league titles both in invincible style but lost a 50/50 game with another great team Barca.
    The treble winning ManUtd also won the champions league in invincible style. ManUtd are always the best in the world when they win it and even when they lose in the final they'd been unbeaten up until that point (08/09 & 2010/11) Just very unlucky not to have won more champions league's, quite a few more, so many unlucky exits on away goals, bad decisions etc...

      So the Dutch league did have strong players ,also ajax beat so many European elites such as real Madrid ,ac milan ,Bayern Munich , Dortmund ,Atletico Madrid etc. ,even when they were losing talents year after year from 94-97.
