The most successful club in history is Real Madrid and they also have the two best runs in the ucl. 1955 team won 5 in a row and the 2015-2018 team won 3 in a row and 4 in 5 years whilst setting scoring records with Ronaldo! Can’t argue with records and history. No team has been better than Madrid in Europe. Ajax only have 4 ucls in history. Madrid have done that in the last 5 years
I don't feel like this Ajax success could ever be done again, mainly because of how football is nowadays and players have no loyalty meaning for them to build and establish a youthful squad full of talent would be hard due to the big teams trying to snap them up at any chance they get. I love how football is nowadays but sadly that's why the winners of the big European competitions always remain the same, due to how football has changed and become a money motivated sport and not loyalty how it used to be.
Well that was already happening in 95 after all this team also fell apart soon after. But every once in a while things come together perfectly allowing them to beat real Madrid once more
I feel opposite about how football is today, clubs with the most money win mostly. Its boring, only a select few clubs can win the champions league. Just look at the british clubs, 20 years ago none of them had a chance in the champions league now 4 out of 8 clubs in the quarter final are british, all because they buy up all of the best players. Its just sad the money ruined the sport for me.
No one comes close to Madrid’s 1955 team winning 5 in a row or their 2015-18 team winning 4 in 5 years and 3 in a row whilst having the most successful ucl player in history with the most goals, assists, wins and trophies.

Madrid's winning ucl 16/17 team scored 36 goals and lost one game the entire thing. (ronaldo scored 17 by himself which is an all time record) and beat bayern, atletico and juventus to win it in the knockouts whilst ronaldo scored the only back to back quarter/semi final hatrick in ucl history. They also won in 15/16, 17/18 and 18/19 with the same team pretty much. 3 ucls in a row and 4 in 5 years. So ajax is definitely not the best european team of all time.
Thomas becker ronaldo actually scored 12 goals that ucl season he had only like 2 in the group stage while messi had 11 but remarkably turned up in the knockout stages and was top scorer. Still think Barca teams 09 2011 were better.
Best team ever is Nottingham forest under Clough. Average league 1 side to Back - to - Back European champs within 3 years. Making a good team strong is reaching expectations. Turning a shambles side into the best team sustainably is unheard of. Will never happen again.
They would never beat Madrid’s best ever side or Barca’s! So they can’t be the best team ever. Madrid have two sides that won 3 or more ucls in a row. 1955 and 2015-2018
It's a great underdog story, but that doesn't make it the strongest team ever. It would lose to many sides, definitely including the '95 Ajax team which was absolutely insane

If it’s about the best ucl European team in history then first of all it has to be Real Madrid who won the same amount of ucls in the last 5 years as Ajax have in their entire history and secondly it would either be Madrid’s 1955-1960 ucl team who won five in a row or Madrid’s 2014-2018 ucl team who won 3 in a row and 4 in 5 years whilst facing tougher teams in the final and throughout the competition. Also they had the most successful ucl player of all time (Ronaldo) who has the most ucl trophies, goals and assists ever. Of course if this includes domestic achievements then other arguments can be made but if its just Europe Madrid is the only deserving winner of this.
Sam Geee You can’t mention R Madrid 2015-2018 as the best team in European history if they weren’t even dominating their own league. How can you be the best in Europe if you’re not the best in Spain? Makes no sense. Man Utd 1999 (treble), Ayax 95 (Never lost a game in their league or CL), Barca 2009 (won the treble). These teams that I mentioned dominated on all fronts. People need to remember that the CL is a knock out competition and you don’t need to be the best team in Europe to win it, see Chelsea 2012, Liverpool 2005. Even Inter 2010; Pep’s Barca were a better team than them but Inter still managed to get the better of them over 2 legs using dodgy tactics in the 2nd leg.
Jamie carragher has not one gram of football knowledge! A great example of a footballer and a lucky man that played professional football having a conversation about tactics..! It's embarrassing the difference in football brains!!! God help English football...
No the Dutch league isn't that high in quality. I remember whenever I saw games in that league it was slow pace. Not much closing down, everyone is allowed more time on the ball etc...Technically it should be a team like ManUtd 2007/08 as they won 3 PL's in a row 06/07, 07/08, & 08/09. When they lost in the semi-finals of 06/07 Champions league 5-3 on aggregate to ACmilan they went on to lift 3 Premier league titles before they lost another champions league game. 25 Champions league games unbeaten on top of all the other things they were winning. So consistent, nearly won back-to-back champions league titles both in invincible style but lost a 50/50 game with another great team Barca. The treble winning ManUtd also won the champions league in invincible style. ManUtd are always the best in the world when they win it and even when they lose in the final they'd been unbeaten up until that point (08/09 & 2010/11) Just very unlucky not to have won more champions league's, quite a few more, so many unlucky exits on away goals, bad decisions etc...
Well ,yes but slwoer does not necessarily mean bad ,la liga is a slower once league in comparison to the premier league ,but la liga teams dominate more in Europe ,also at that time r9 was in psv ,Henrik Larson was in feyernood So the Dutch league did have strong players ,also ajax beat so many European elites such as real Madrid ,ac milan ,Bayern Munich , Dortmund ,Atletico Madrid etc. ,even when they were losing talents year after year from 94-97.

@@sismeo1 2006 Barca was awesome, but not dominate, stylish and all qonquering like the 2015 side, let alone the 11'/09' one.
The had a great Dutch national team in that era too. Shame they lost to Brazil on pens at WC98 , i think the would have given France a run for their money.
It would have been even better if Van Basten hadn’t had to finish at 28, he woujd have gone to WC94,E96, WC98
United players weren’t intelligent enough to understand LVG simple as that
John Appiah I agree.
Also the players at man u were low quality.
Lol English football is just kick and rush
King Kong 100 init!!!
He also needs time to build it to his vision. If you take LVG you must have your full trust in him. LVG used to be a PE teacher and if you give him driven and motivated young players, he will form them and make them go beyond them selfs. LVG can hypnotise a team to win but you cant have any divas that break that hypnoses. Thats why he mostly prefers young players and he also can make them play on different positions.
Denis Bergkamp probably regretted leaving Ajax in 93. At the time he was one of the top 5 players in the world and had a nightmare 2 years in Italy
kluivert also had a crappy year at milan next year. Milan bought half of that ajax team, and all of them didn't work out. The one that did work out was Clarence, but he joined milan years later.
Records and history something no one can argue against
This team they can place in any competition at anytime and still be in the running
This team is surly up there!
Kluivert..overmars..sedorf..David's.. rijkaard..de boer twins..van der sar ...one of best teams in football history. 👍
That team was one of my favourite CL teams.
Most underrated team ever in my opinion a great team and great manager
Without the great Ajax sides football would currently about 30 years behind where it is now

Louis Van Gaal's army! This was Van Gaal's original army! Rijkaard dominated that Final. English 'journalists' coined the phrase 'the Makelele role'. Rijkaard defined the modern defensive midfielder role, and to this day, the best midfielder's style is that.
Man that AJAX team was MONEY🔥
Everyone's forgetting Seedorf , win 3 UCL with 3 different club ❤️
4 UCL with 3 different clubs actually
The best raw talented team i have ever seen
And remember this real madrid and barcelona how much money did they spend to do what ajax did noone talks about this ajax is simply the best marc overmarrs had a very serious injury and it took him out of football they were in finals following year also they would of won with him but lost on penalties to Juventus. Simply the best Ajax!!!
Lost against Juventus on dope. Years that came out , there own doctor told that on Italian television.
Awesome. Love your content.
You guys make my day
Justin is a wonderful player, he needs to play, he deserves to play. Roma needs him now, Mourinho should consider letting him play for Roma again! Maybe it's his destiny to stay in Roma at the last minute! Also is the destiny of" the special one"of him and Murinho.
LVG the manager. And that team was quite young .
Madrid have done that in the last 5 years
You answered a question that was never asked. We're talking about a specific team for one year, not the entire club.
@Rob Can say the same about barca 2009 ucl semifinal against chelsea.
Only monney
As an Ajax fan I have to admit that the the Guardiola/ Barcelona period was the best team ever!
Zeker. Mijn lijst : 1 Barcelona van Messi , Xavi , Iniesta 2 - Milan 89-90 3 Ajax 71-72-73 4 Real Madrid v Ronaldo 14-16-17-18 Liverpool 77-78-81-84
No, you have to bear in mind the fact that Barcelona spent heaps more than Ajax.
Great video, when Louis Van Gaal was at his peak as a Manager!
No one comes close to Madrid’s 1955 team winning 5 in a row or their 2015-18 team winning 4 in 5 years and 3 in a row whilst having the most successful ucl player in history with the most goals, assists, wins and trophies.
I can't dispute the former one, but the latter one happened basically because of the lack of competiton they had in recent years. '09 Barcelona would destroy pretty much every other Real Madrid team from the 2010's

If that mid 90's Ajax team had not been broken up and sold they would of won loads more Champions Leagues.
That's Dutch football for ya, we produced the most talented players but have no money in the league.

If there was no such think as buying players and every team was based off of there own grass roots Ajax would have won loads. They are still producing great players from their academy the big clubs snap them up.
The thing is bro they were all so young imagine that Ajax team in they prime I feel sorry for the midfielders going up against Seedorf and Davids🤣
i really dont remember kluivert at newcastle , its crazy
Ben shawyer Yeah he was there for 1 season and he didn’t do much to be fair. I would say he was on a decline at that point.
Thomas becker i wonder what team u support🤣🤣🤣
Barcelona 2011 was a better team. And they didn't have to rely on refs to win the whole thing (unlike in 2009)
Thomas becker ronaldo actually scored 12 goals that ucl season he had only like 2 in the group stage while messi had 11 but remarkably turned up in the knockout stages and was top scorer. Still think Barca teams 09 2011 were better.
16/17* not 18/19
Whats the best mean here ? How many trophies won in 1 consecutive year . Would be barca 2009, won in all competitions they were in.
What a team Jesus Christ the names!
Davids played on the left side and Seedorf on the right
Best team ever is Nottingham forest under Clough.
@@davetum5876 winning one a cup in the season doesnt make you the best team you fool! madrid were shocking in the league! nottingham forest won the double and went unbeaten for 48 games! grow a brain.
Patrick his Son left Ajax as soon as he could. Now he is warming a bench. That is how great he thinks Ajax is.

This is about Ajax, not about the Dutch league in general..
Well ,yes but slwoer does not necessarily mean bad ,la liga is a slower once league in comparison to the premier league ,but la liga teams dominate more in Europe ,also at that time r9 was in psv ,Henrik Larson was in feyernood
So the Dutch league did have strong players ,also ajax beat so many European elites such as real Madrid ,ac milan ,Bayern Munich , Dortmund ,Atletico Madrid etc. ,even when they were losing talents year after year from 94-97.
