I’ve opened Chinese, Indonesian, Thai and Korean cards and personally I feel the quality isn’t quite on par with English or Japanese but they are still very good and it’s always improving anyway. Also it’s just a great experience to open multiple language cards and compare them and get sweet pulls too
Went on a business trip at the beginning of the year and found a bunch of eevee heroes for $22 a box. Ripped way more than I should’ve but hit the umbreon V alt. Really enjoyed it! Wish the market respected the Korean cards more.
I've seen so many people buying these boxes since they're more affordable. Pretty nice option for those that just like the artwork and to collect. Seems like the pull rates are better too!
For Korean boxes, SR is not guaranteed. So it’s even more difficult to get really big hits. Card quality is also slightly different (not in a lousier way)…just feels different. And older sets are still in yellow border instead of silver. Hence why the price point is much lower than JPN / ENG boxes. BUT it is possible to get 2 big hits. My Korean Vstar Universe box gave me a gold UR Arceus and SAR Zoroark!
Nice of you to cover yet another layer of the hobby. I wish you knew the finer details but this is a nice intro to KR. 151 is a seeded box probably bc it’s a specialty set but the hits are literally the last 5 packs in every box: master ball, art cards x3, SAR
I recently went to Korea and I bought a ton of 151 boxes. I got them for 35$ a box, each time with 4 AR, 1 SR a 4 RR. And on top of that of that there is a masterball. The quality is a bit lower but it was fun opening them. I even decided to go for a master set in korean.
I liked them when they used to be ~16-22 € per box. They used to have much worse pullrates than Japanese boxes, but were only about half the prize and for special sets like Evolutions that was fun. But now they are sold for 60-70+ € in Europe.
Great video Danny! Would love to see one where you compare prices on singles between English, Japanese and Korean cards for the same exact card from the same exact set. A prime example is the Charizard EX from the new 151 set or maybe the Caterpie art rare that is nice to pull from that same set.
I've opened Korean Eevee heroes a few times, still regularly buying it, plus watching alot of openings of it. From my experience you'll get a minimum of 6 hits and maximum of 9 at the highest per booster box.
I bought a case of Korean Eevee Heroes booster boxes just so I could have a set of the artwork. The cardstock quality is definitely not there but for me it was just about having fun. I was able to pull the moonbreon without having to break the bank and had enough UR and RRR cards to share with the kids. I haven’t tried simplified Chinese packs yet but have heard they are closer in quality to Japanese packs as they come from the same cardstock source
I’m honestly not seeing much of a difference card quality wise. They feel about the same too. Only difference I’ve seen is they tear differently. Print quality always seems a little better than English from my experience. Centering, Print lines, etc. I’m consistently disappointed by English quality with every set. 151 hasn’t been perfect either, but that’s not gonna stop me from buying another Mew UPC. 🤪
I really enjoy Korean. Quality is actually really good. I opened a 151 Korean booster box next to English 151 and the card quality blew English away. You do have your occasional off-center ones, but no whitening or chips on the backs!
I just recently got my 1st Japanese cards. I definitely enjoy the English cards most because i can read them. But I like the high class sets in Japanese.
I used to live in South Korea for a couple of years so I opened a fair amount while I as over there and brought some home! In my experience, it was similar to Japanese where you are guaranteed one "full art" or above pre box but that is it. I thought that was official but I could be wrong, figure I would share!
I opened heaps of Korean black and white sets back in the day because they were cheap, haven’t really seen too much growth in terms of value but the fun to cost value was definitely there! Boo to the no guaranteed SR though 🤣
We've had multiple stores try to open and end closing over the years, the last two seem to have some sticking power but way more have closed. The one my family owns has been around for 30 years now so we're pretty comfortable but can confirm, the margins are small, and we make most of our money from the supplies like sleeves and such.
So I have only opened 4 Korean Eevee heroes so far, and of them, I have pulled 2 alts (Umbreon v alt and jolteon v alt, then got Umbreon VMax rainbow and leafeon v alt) I haven’t had an issue on the quality so far, but that is just by the few I have opened :)
I had found a good deal on eBay on a lot of 3 Korean Eevee Heroes booster boxes and had a GREAT time ripping them. Working on completing the master set now by slowly picking up singles.
Danny, please mention to people that not only is a special art rare is not guaranteed, but special rare (secret rare) in general aren’t guaranteed. Full Arts and above are SRs in Korean just like in Japanese. You are right that with Korean boxes that there are NO guarantees at all, but we should stress a bit more about the differences in rarity in the Asian market more. You can easily go 4 Korean Booster Boxes and not see any special rares (secret rares). So while it is cheaper to buy 20 packs, it can cost as much as an English booster box to find an SR. This is why Korean cards are so cheap in comparison and we should remind people that reselling Korean for the same prices as Japanese (which has an SR guarantee) or English (no guarantees but more packs and more cards per pack) is inadvisable in general.
Simplified Chinese its getting more popular in mainland china. They are launching unique products such as eevee gift box or the newest charizards boxes
Yup. I purchase my products from Sakuras Card Shop. Most of my products I open on my channel are from his store. He's legit and I trust him. I thought Korean Pokemon weren't worth it at first. I have been buying them since it was released in his store. The quality is really good and I think they're produced in Japan.
I worked in a printing company and it seems that most printers don't have the integrity to care about what their product looks like or the slitters as well in America anymore, it's sad but at least there's a few.
I opened many BW and XY booster boxes in korean. The quality was in bw and and in the begunning of xy not the best. In SM the quality was sometimes better then the german cards.
Love this guy, just got into this account and I love how he informs and keeps all the fans updated with the news love the time he takes into statistics probably the realest Pokémon trainer out there
I've been opening Korean for a few years now, not getting an SIR in Korean for the price stings way less than overpaying for Japanese and pulling a male Trainer or something lackluster (looking at you, Eevee Heroes).
Congrats on the pulls, dude. I’ve opened one of these boxes, but I didn’t get lucky. I’ve got 4 more on the way along with 4 blue sky stream and another 151 Mew UPC. Lol
This video makes it sound like Korean packs are not 100% genuine lol. It's just different language, like there's Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), German, French, Indonesian... Cards are virtually same quality as english cards. For Japanese it is said that they are better quality, but they all pretty much feel same in hand, most of the perceived quality is placebo. You really need to nitpick with microscope to see differences in holo, textured and regular surfaces between languages. Btw, that misplaced Poliwrath in 151 pack is masterball reverse. Masterball reverses can be very valuable if it's the right pokemon on them. Pikachu and Gengar for example fetch really good prices.
I bought a Korean full art shiny Silveon(hidden fates) for$23 mint condition. I posted the card in a bunch of discords to see the reaction. Everybody saying how freakin cool that card was and got so much praise. But everybody said its worth nothing..... if its worth nothing why are they praising it so much? I prefer the low cost low resale market of Korean
I’m surprised you haven’t covered the fiasco pertaining to how Pokemon Center sold out immediately of all its Van Gogh products within minutes in America.
I've bought Korean Lost Abyss and Eevee Heroes before and they were okay. Artwork is still the same. They're definitely way cheaper than the Japanese sets.
It’s very interesting lol I have seen them before but really haven’t ever purchased anything. Like the idea of cheaper products but I do enjoy English products and being able to read them. Thanks for the great content Danny, God bless as always :)
Opening 151 has been fun, but disappointing at the same time. I've gotten 1 ETB, 1 Poster Collection, 1 Binder Collection and all I have pulled is a Zapdox ex, Wartortle IR, Blastoise ex and thats it from 16 packs. I want to master set this but seeing only 1 IR makes me sad that I'm going to have to go to TCG Player for everything.
I've actually been contemplating buying the Korean sets and sending the big hits to get graded. Just wondering if people will actually buy the Korean big hits
I pulled a Umbreon v alt art out of 1 Korean booster box.i don't think people will blow up the Korean market because the resale on single cards is not there it's tough in English right now as well 😂
I usually purchase Japanese or Korean for the cards I actually collect to have every version of that card, but otherwise, I'd rather stick with English.
Glad you enjoyed opening them:) we enjoy it as well. I had a customer buy 8 boxes the other day, we hit 3 alt are, 1 gold, 2 full art trainers and 2 full arts😅 they usually call them sakuresealed haha
From my experience, Korean is nearly identical to Japanese, just no gold border on the back, and different language writing. I have a mix of Japanese & Korean Eevee Heroes, and 151, including both of the Eevee Masterball Reverse Holo, and side by side, they're identical. Same with the Alakazam & Wigglytuff ex's. Not sure how the price point changes, but I comp them around 80% of Japanese, because they're the same exact sets 🤷♂️
How on earth did you get two full arts in one Korean box! Wow!!! That’s the first UA-camr I’ve seen so that for a Korean box opening. You got very lucky this opening ⭐️⭐️
To be honest I've been staying away from English cards for a while I'm an opening up a lot of Japanese V-Star Universe can't go wrong so many hits so many great cards card quality is better
I might be in the minority in this, but I think Korean cards are better quality than English cards. Obviously Japanese is superior to English and Korean. When I get a card in English that’s worth something the centering is horrible. I barely get that in Korean. Everybody has their preference and opinion though. I just like having nice cards regardless of it being English, Japanese or Korean.
You’re not. Korean quality beats English and is close to Japanese. I honestly don’t understand the hate. They also have really good value. Seems like a no brainer if you love collecting Pokémon and don’t want to spend $2-300 on a single box and potentially pull nothing.
Definitely a cool way to enjoy opening cards on a budget… just not quite the level of excitement, compared to pulling a desirable card in English or Japanese.
I love the artwork alone and this is such a good alternative for people who can’t afford the English or Japanese I love how the artwork and quality is the same I didn’t even know they made these might have to indulge
I think the eevee heroes set is better than evolving skies because you know each hit will be an eeveelution. no on wants a giant building pokemon at their hit. :P

isnt chinese and thai cards produced in JP? lol
@@gumikitteh yes i think it depends if they use the same card stock as the japanese cards though, i wont pretend to know if they do or not haha
Have you locked at modern english cards korean and all the other have way better quality no f.... 1 to 4 printlines per hit😂
The reverse poliwhirl was behind the rare because it was the masterball, u get 1 per box
Went on a business trip at the beginning of the year and found a bunch of eevee heroes for $22 a box. Ripped way more than I should’ve but hit the umbreon V alt. Really enjoyed it! Wish the market respected the Korean cards more.
I feel like Korean is just waiting to explode that or Chinese since Chinese uses the same printers as Japan
I have that card in English and is my favorite.
I've seen so many people buying these boxes since they're more affordable. Pretty nice option for those that just like the artwork and to collect. Seems like the pull rates are better too!
As someone living in korea i can sadly tell you the pull rates arent better :(
Holding the cards in your personal collection is the bees knees no matter the language

I've always wanted to open Korean booster boxes but never knew of a good place to buy them. I'll definitely be buying from that site.
Pokene is legit I get Korean from them
